I have the OG version and the faceplates are definitely better but besides that, I'm not sure there's enough of a difference for me to pick up this figure. Good for those who missed out the first time though. Cheers for the look.
I keep hoping someone will do a navy gi recolor of a 6 inch Ryu. This is a solid Ryu and the leaner physique can work in some displays. TvC or Smash comes to mind.
I really like the shf heads, but otherwise the Jada option is really close! I have the Jada Ryu next to the shf Ken & think they look great together. -excellent review Cheynee!
I prefer the plastic used on jada, better range of motion, less fragile, and price point. Would be nice to get this one too but it's like $65+ ain't it?
im sure it moves a bit better than a jada figure, but not enough to spend almost four times as much. i do buy lots of figuarts, but this here highlights the point that jada figures are more than sufficient when it comes to street fighter.
Jada has a tighter bend to the elbows, figuarts has the toe bend. Jada has more ratchet feel joints, figuarts are smooth yet tight. Jada fireball is more bright and vibrant, figuart is more crystal in look and "deluxe". Jada has removable gi top. Jada face sculpt is very close to SF2 select screen and is SF2 centric in general. Figuart is based on SF5 Ryu but works as a general SF2 onwards Ryu. Honestly it's nice that figuarts are doing SF again, but it's great that Jada is here to not only give us a choice for the shelf but to also potentially fill gaps figuarts missed out on - such as no Balrog to complete the Shadaloo kings.

They added a new faceplate with the better face/eyes, the old one is on the figure in package.

Darn, I wasn't interested until I saw they fixed the eyes. The print on the first release was a deal-breaker, but looks great this time around!

If they do an outfit 2 for Ken it’s an instant buy. Otherwise do a Luke or Kimberly or even Juri outfit 2

Look at the Jada Toys Ryu's alternate head and tell me how that's way better other than it's affordable.
