For what it’s worth my experience with Arsenal’s customer service was horrible, despite being considered absolutely untouchable in the AK industry, as if everything they touch turns to pure gold. Well if that’s the case then maybe the standards of the AK section of the gun industry are just simply through the floor and the old notion of AKs being associated with criminals etc is fitting because that company is just the furthest thing from professional and transparent you could ever imagine, they simply don’t fit with the standard an American gun owner is used to at all. And the issues with the gun I bought from them still to this day make me shocked it was 2 grand. Imagine a Daniel Defense rifle with a misaligned gas block that was wiggling around, and not just a little bit misaligned I’m talking not even close i.e. no one even eyeballed it by the time it got to me. I know KUSA was the brand everyone loved to hate and criticize and granted I’m not defending them, but I simply have no clue how Arsenal keeps walking away with everyone still bowing to them. Maybe the AK world always has been and always will be sleazy sketchy and barely legal.

This is an unfortunate turn of events as the idea of AK100s being built domestically to Russian TDP is what we need. I have long had my eyes on a 103 folder but two things kept me from pulling the trigger 1) the fact that Beryls and Zastava’s were available in the same price range and 2) the reports of QC issues and the troubles dealing with the company to get them fixed. As for Bonnie, I had no real problem with her working and shooting for them. The firearms community comes in all flavors and we don’t all have to be Templar Knights, however it was definitely a poor decision to make her the de-facto face of the company.

Again, the clone correct AK market is niche. Sure, the market exists. It's just not enough to save a company. They would be better off making a small number of "clone correct" guns while making a "good enough" budget option to rival competition and satisfy the majority of the market. Meanwhile, their 9mm Vityaz clone has the ability to dominate the market of 9mm AK's. It is better than any other option on the market today, and is the most fun gun I own to shoot. They would also branch out into "close enough" version of the AK-12 and AK-15 with limited numbers of "clone correct" AK-12 and AK-15 models thst would satisfy a larger market.

Don't forget KUSA raised all their prices drastically around end of 2022. Example, they had MSRP of $1599.00 for the side folding 103 rifle. There was tons of blowback not just by the AK community\buyers but even some of the wholesale distributors who sell their firearms.
The CEO's lavish spending trying to prove KUSA is a well off, extremely busy firearm manufacturer in the USA. But the big spending, slowly cutting corners to save money. Money that was being wasted outside manufacturing.
KUSA also didn't offer enough variants of their firearms. There are 15 different AKs they could make but only offered different aftermarket expensive rails and stocks that were nearly all metal mlock. Didn't offer 6 different wood colors or dong equipped AKs. Could have done a spiker like PSA, a true Krink, plus just various barrel lengths for both AK pistols and rifles. Rather than wanting $1800 for metal stock 16" barrel AKs. Still a 103 but with mlock front stocks. Their marketing department, which I assume was just the CEO and a handful of investors could have had better vision and diversity in what they offered.
The steel cased ammo they offered in 7.62x39 like 2-3 years ago was good stuff and I know it sold extremely well. They should have always been offering their own re branded ammo for the four most popular calibers... 7.62x39, 5.45x39, 5.56, and 12 gauge ammo for AKs. It would be a steady form of revenue and could have been a tiny department on its own.

I've owned the 103 sidefolder and kp9 since the first week they were each released. And planned on grabbing there 101 and 74m when released. I've always been a import ak guy. But after buying there kp9 and recognizing the quality and reliability of it. I knew I was going hokd out for there sidefolder with CHF chrome lined barrel instead of going with the first released fixed stock button barreled 103. But they are true clone correct quality built reliable aks. I've been very impressed after having all the imported aks I own and have owned. I use my 103 as my drill gun running courses and matches. So it gets run the hardest and actually spray painted it about a year and half ago. And after 5 or 6k thousand rounds the only wear on the internals at all is the finish. Out of all the aks it has the smoothest bolt throw and softest recoil out of any ak I've fired. It's a laser beam when it comes to keeping on target shooting fast. Out of all the rounds using different ammo. I've never had a single malfunction out of same with the kp9. I would hate to see them go because I really wanted to continue buying there products I really wanted grab there 101. And on top of that they were selling parts if someone wanted convert there saigas. Front sight blocks 90 degree gasblocks rear folding trunnions and folding stocks. That was a big plus since Bulgarian and Russian parts have become hard to find and when u can find them they are stupid expensive. K-usa was helping fill that void with correct spec parts. And most the people I see hate on K-usa guns are people who don't own one or who has never fired one. And typically are the people who own 1 ak and they crap on every other ak on the market. Talking to them it is easy to see they are not true ak guys not true collectors and not true ak shooters that might fire there 1 ak that they own once a year and talk like an expert. When in reality they no nothing about K-usa products or quality. They are typically fudds. And that's why I have followed your channel from the beginning Misha u see the true quality and craftsmanship in the kalashnikovs. And when u speak on it it is facts and truth not here say. U actually go out and fire your aks as much as possible when u have the time to do so. And I respect your knowledge and passion on aks. Every bit of knowledge I have learned and no is from watching your videos. Cause like u I like AKs due to the history behind the platform. And they have always been my favorite firearms since the first time I handled and fired one. Between knowledge from you and Rob ski. You guys have been a major help to the ak guys and ak community. And also klayco47 is a good channel of knowledge on the competition side showing the upgrades and capabilities of aks on the competition scene. And I respect him also because everytime I have had questions on modernizing some of my aks for competition Klay is a guy who actually will take his time out and talk to u about what will work best as far as muzzle devices furniture and kns pistons. To keep your ak fast and muzzle flat for running competition and has been a huge help giving me personal advice on certain aks to push them to there limit running on a clock. And he has proved the myth several times showing video proof that aks can be run just as fast in competition as ARs and has run competition with all ARs and will be the only ak guy out there and beat 60 shooters with his aks. All 3 of u are true pioneers in the ak community. Keep up the awesome content Misha really appreciate your long videos of knowledge

Yeah, KUSA was making "clone correct" AK's (mostly). But that's such a niche market. It's not profitable enough to pick up all that debt. Personally, at this time (4/27/24) I wouldn't touch KUSA with a 10 yard stick. Unless they change their business model it's going nowhere. The Vityaz clone was maybe their best product released. My biggest problem with KUSA was the shotgun safety issue. The ONE part that prevents unintentional discharge did not operate correctly. I handled one, in fact, and it was floppy and loose and I see absolutely see it flipping from safe to fire with little effort. The detent notches didn't line up and there was zero retention.
Now, their excuse was "oops someone grabbed the wrong box of safeties on assembly day." Really? You mean to tell me hundreds or thousands of rifles went out with the most important part being incorrect? You can instantly tell that the safety does not work as intended. My theory is they knew this, but because of parts shortages, they sent the rifles out anyways to dealers so that they could get some cash flow.
At worst, it was a scummy slimeball move. At best, it was dangerously negligent and displays the fact that there was ZERO QC check on that run of rifles.
