    Congratulations Marlee! You’re an inspiration! I totally agree with you on your rant! I just finished OMS1 which ended with neuro and most of us studied 12 hrs a day for a month and all felt like we weren’t human anymore at the end. I don’t call that quality healthcare education. I would love a quick video of advice on how to approach second year now that you’ve done it and taken step 1 in this p/f era. Thanks!

      Hey Laura! Thank you so much and CONGRATS on finishing first year, that’s a huge deal!! 🎉🎉🎉 and I 100% agree making students feel out of touch with the rest of the world due to crazy workloads is definitely not ok. I love your video suggestion, I’ll definitely get to work on that, look out for it in the next month or two!

    Hello Marlee, Congrats best wishes!
    You worked hard, you deserve this, enjoy it.
    I agree with what u had to say with respect to medical school education. It is hard.
    But the good news is step 2 is much fun.
    I'm very happy for you 😊
    One suggestion, if you can make video on high yield topics that you see in the exam for others!!
    Thank you for keeping us informed.
    All the best!!

    Use the uwise q bank from acog for gyn! Onlinemeded is also good. Amboss overall for shelf exams is nice, you can save uworld until step 2 honestly if you want to save money/have amboss already. I used first aid for step 2 ck and basically made it my study book that I filled in with all the extra topics that weren't in there already and it's become a nice little content monster. Good luck!
    Also in terms of high achievement all the time yup. As an oms4, ours were graded so my friends and I made a pact to not share scores cause it just impacts self esteem. We definitely were not okay afterwards though that's for sure. In no world is it acceptable to drink two venti coffees and two bangs a day for at least three weeks straight 😬🥴 but I did it. Will definitely say rotations are a lot more manageable in terms of study:life ratios at least at my clinical site.

      @MarleeM-M  2 роки тому

      Awesome, thank you for the suggestions, I’ll take all the advice I can get! Good to hear that life on rotations was more manageable, I’m hoping it’s the same at my clinical site bc for real I cannot go back to running on caffeine and fumes again lolll

      Hey thanks for your question, this is my first time taking step 1 and I was fortunate enough to pass, but if you’d like to know how I prepared for step 1 I did a video on my study strategy a couple months ago!

    Hi, great video. 1. Besides your med school do you have also a family to take care: kids, husband, parents, etc. 2. And how many hours a day could you study to prepare the test? Thank you

      @MarleeM-M  2 роки тому +1

      Thank you! I have a partner who helps a lot with day-to-day things and I studied on average 8-9 hours per day in the last month before taking step.
