Holy shit, the last thing I expected to see when I woke up was a reaction video from Justin Hawkins from the darkness reacting to my video, maybe im still sleeping or have woken up in an alternate universe but if not, thank you for reacting and for the kind words my friend, you're a legend
It's motivating for everyone. It's got me rethinking of how I make music. Amazing piece of art you've made Ren. I'm one of your newest fans but I'll be watching and listening to everything you do. Keep it up!
I was hoping he would. And so deserved, Ren. You are indeed a star and thank you for your vulnarability and talent. I think you are a great example for men to open up and I think you maybe even saved some lives by this song.
Justin, I’m a bit late to your REN party, but am glad to see your reaction. I was a touring musician (guitar) for years and it takes a lot for a song to move me as much as this has, as you get kinda jaded when the “tour bubble” becomes kinda the norm. The musicianship, delivery, brilliant lyrical content, cadence, and raw emotion cannot be faked, and every fiber of REN’s being can be felt. It is on another level. I end up with tears running down my face, as it’s so relatable as well. REN is a truly special artist, and I’m so glad he’s getting the recognition he deserves. His gift needs to be shared, as it absolutely has healing and positivity backing it. I cannot begin to express how much REN has lit a fire in me, I’d thought was lost. THANK YOU, REN. THANK YOU, JUSTIN 🔊🙏🎶💜
FYI, Ren will NOT copyright strike anyone reviewing his music. He loves reactions and it shares his music so please do full reactions to him. Your reaction is great and we'd all benefit from more of it. Thank you.
several reactors have gotten a copyright strike from Universal Music or something to that effect... I know personally several have reached out to Ren to let him know others are doing this... It is an old tactic, he has them scared they strike in hopes it won't really be viewed as much...
It's not usually the artist doing the strike. The places where you'd post bits of copyrighted work have algorithms to suss out copyright infringement. There doesn't seem to be a lot of judgment about whether its fair use, or whether the user has permission.
Yeah that true and you can see his comments on various reaction channels ! Ren seems to be happy with how things are going and you can see how he's a genuine good guy and musician
Justin!!!! Thank you!!! My love of your music brought me to REN and I am f_cking floored. I have a 27 year old beautiful step son living at home with me. I am 53 and he is struggling with life. I sent this to him yesterday and he cried with me watching this and it made him feel that he was not alone. Mental health is horrible to watch. I have been watching my son struggle for 10 years like Ren and he is just now coming out of the shadows! Maybe this is what happens to young men and women from 18-28! When the boys and girls go through puberty and start to realize who they are or what they are and the mortality of life. It’s sad to watch and beautiful to see when they fight through it. He still struggles and we work together. Thank you sir for your warm emotional response and recommendation. Love ya brotha. ❤👊🏻🤘🏻
When I first heard this I cried 😢 you see I've battled with voices in my head for at least 50 years and to see this young man bringing it to light is just amazing 👏
Reading through the comments about Rens' tune on many other streams, I noticed that there are a lot of comments from people like me...middle aged blokes. It's no small achievement for a young, contemporary, indy rap artist to bring so many middle aged cynical blokes to tears and hit us in the feels.
Just yes! I’m a fat 46 year old bloke from Stoke and this song broke me. I’ve watched his other stuff and he’s a genius. He will explode this year, I just hope he can take it.
That's because us middle aged blokes generally don't have the language to express this but so many of us probably struggle with mental health to some degree. Too many years of being told to man-up taking its toll.
9 months ago, this video introduced me to Ren and today I am celebrating his album Sick Boi hitting #1 in the UK charts while waiting for my vinyl copies of the album to arrive. I wonder what the next 9 month will bring. Thank you for getting me started on the wonderful musical and emotional journey that is Ren!
Haven't been blown away by an artist in years. But I don't think I've actually ever been grabbed so quickly by anyone before. All of his stories, songs, one take videos are just amazing. I was sad to read about his current struggles, while looking to see if he is touring. Hope he gets well speedily as he will be in demand. Excited to see him explode into everyone's life. Something special here and I think he will be legend from now far into the future. Love seeing us older lot being excited too. It's so rare. He is not like anyone else. Truly unique.
Those of us who have been privileged to watch Ren over the years in Brighton already know he is brilliant but it’s so lovely to watch everyone else coming on board.
WOT⁉️ Kept him to yourselves, now did you!? (stated with righteous indignation, for style reference, see John Cleese, the funniest human ever built by madmen unknown)You bloody 🤬...🤟😁❗(❤️ from 🇨🇦)
So fucking happy Ren is finally getting his flowers. Been listening to him for years and he’s one of the most creative, talented, and most importantly, strong willed artists I’ve ever seen. If I could wish success and happiness for one artist, it’s our Ren.
Well done Justin. I'm 63 and have been an avid listener of the awesome Ren and his bandmates in the Big Push for a few years. This guy's work is incredible. He's an extraordinarily inventive and accomplished musician and should be knocking the door down in the higher echelons of the music industry. Your great words can only help to promote this stunning artist. If you haven't done already, check out his work with the band and also Jenny's tale and Screech's tale. Another two stunning compositions. Thanks, Justin.
REN’s ‘Jenny & Screech’ body of work is mesmerizing, magical, & such an excitingly original concept. I’m always excited to hear everything he puts out to the public. Can’t imagine how amazing it would be to see & listen to him perform his pieces in person. He’s a true star! ⭐️🤯
A massive thanks again Justin for widening our musical minds and introducing Ren. I am a musician and I watched this and was so moved and stunned, I then watched every other video he has on YT, OMG you challenge him to top this, but this is his standard, this is normal for him, watch the rest they're completely amazing. This is not normally my kind of thing, but you can't turn them off they are so captivating.
This was exactly the reaction I had when I first heard it. Absolute awe. It’s just inspiring, disturbing and truly enlightening. I love how unapologetically raw it is, but yet so well thought out and performed with so much style and believability. A monumentally important piece of work.
I know it was like it was like a disturbing f****** event or something....😅😅😅 I mean yeah I gave you Goosebumps it made you cry ... But I had to wait weeks to watch/hear it again, it was SOOOO powerful! 💖🥹 Quite a contrast to today's "music"! 😅😅😅😅🙏🏼✌🏼
The thing with Ren is that because he doesn't write for commercial success but does it purely from the heart on topics and themes that are deeply personal or reflect subjects that are already difficult to confront like in Jenny's Tale, it becomes impossible to categorise and critique. Contemporary, poetic and hard hitting. I'm so glad he's finally getting the recognition he so deserves.
It's wonderful when someone with as much talent as our kind host is gobsmacked speechless by another artist. That's when you know it's real. Thanks much, Justin.
So happy you covered this. I was one of the many that requested you looked at Ren and 'Hi Ren' in particular. It's a stunning piece of art, by someone who is unafraid to try his hand at all genres. Easily takes the place of my favourite artist in 2022.
For anyone who was not around the first time the Beatles or Bowie hit the scene - this is what it felt like. Ren, like the other genius before him ( and I do not use that word lightly ) will, I pray, always stay grounded and not allow anyone to squander or take advantage of his huge gift. His health must come first and his growing fans hopfully will honor and realize this so that he can share himself with us at his own pace. Like Vincent Van Gogh, Oscar Wilde, Egon Shiele, Amy Winehouse, the list goes on and on .... the audience - which is US, must learn to take care of our artists. They are a gift to humanity, our humanity. May Ren live an long, full, productive and prosperous life, sharing his talent when it suits him and in the way in which it suits him. His coming on the world stage after Covid is part of our global healing - letting us all know how tender life can be.
Are you really comparing this guy to Van Gogh or Bowie already?! 😂 To me it sounds like Yungblud and Professor Green learned to play basic fingerstyle guitar. Not saying he’s talentless but think I’ll wait a bit before decreeing ‘legend’ status…
@@InspirationSessions What’s hilarious is that he’s been at this for 10 years and he’s being treated as some unknown phenom. I think the “mental health” angle is garnering him a bit more rope than he would have received otherwise.
@@RealJeffTidwell First time I’ve come across him, weirdly - and obviously anyone who helps erode the stigma around mental health should be applauded - but still, I don’t see what all the fuss is about
At first I was like “WTF, man I dunno…." Then I got about a minute in and fell in love with this song. New music doesn’t often give me chills (I’m old) but by the end , this did it.
Ren popped up on my UA-cam two weeks ago, I was gobsmacked when I listened to it, never heard anything like it in my life, listen to him everyday since, and his other songs and collaborations. I’m glad you gave him airtime and seal of approval Justin, as well as the other reviewers, all seem to have the same reaction as you, me and all the others who’ve heard him.
I have never been so moved by a performance. That whole video is amazing. And that he does it live is just insane. Such an intense and inspiring thing to watch.
I am about to enter my 58th year. Nothing has moved me as much as watching that performance. What an incredible human being with an incredible insight to what it means to be human.
Ive watched several reaction videos as well as the original video so many times.... but I never fail to get a shiver go down my spine and tears in my eyes when Ren goes into full singing voice in the final part of the song. This song has no boundaries, it cannot be shoehorned into a genre... it is poetry, music and theater all in one tortured and beautiful package.
Thanks Justin, and thanks Ren. So many of our mid 20 to 30 yr olds with chronic illness are treated as *ficticious* until one doctor puts the pieces together and gives a diagnosis that means understanding and acceptance of the symptoms and struggles and maybe, if lucky treatment as there is little hope for a cure for what ails them. The years of mismanagment leaves deep invisible scars that hide in dark corners and whisper damaging words. Sometimes Art is the only solace or outlet. So keep supporting the brave bards and if they are damaged dont ask them to be perfect or be healed, Listen and Learn and accept as you just did . Thank you
I love how you are about the only reactor, that actually puts on about "bonus", you are not only of my top five vocalists, just a wonderful down to earth chap.
Wow! That was more than just a music or a song! I felt like I stepped into his mind! Completely gripping. Haven’t seen/heard anything like this before! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
When Justin can’t even speak, you know that you’ve made something special. Ren, you are truly amazing and as a disabled person myself, your music speaks to me on a deeper level.
Thanks Justin, I don’t think I’ve ever seen you so moved so quickly. Hope it brings Ren to a more rock-focussed audience too. He is going viral and deffo deserves it. Hope he gets fully physically healed so he can do what he wants/needs to do next!
I heard a shorter version of this on the recommendation of a friend before Christmas and only heard the full version today. Its astonishing. Brings tears to my eyes.
I took you advise and listened to it several times. Very powerful - my eyes were damp. I want Ren to have great success, but worry that the music industry may not treat him with the care he clearly requires.
I love Justin's reaction videos because he knows so much about music. I watched this entire video before I watched Ren's video, so I was prepared for something special. What I got was something well beyond special. I got a taste of deep, emotional, original, and insanely talented music from an artist who is destined to be an absolute superstar. Thanks Justin for turning me onto Ren and thank you Ren, for being a truly amazing musician.
I thought you were going to be moved to tears there for a moment, which is quite a beautiful thing to see someone so overwhelmed with what they're encountering that they can't articulate the beauty.
This man is special. This song is special. Can't possibly put into a youtube comment what it means to me and how it has changed me. Thanks for reacting to it Justin, it's really awesome to see someone as respected and talented as yourself rendered speechless by a piece of music.
Seriously you feel this is good advise , that people with this disease haven’t researched every thing themself. 7 years and you come up with apple cider vinegar and bicarbonate. How condescending. No I won’t say ahh he tried. No you are that unhelpful person who tells someone just to pull themselves together. ALL autoimmune diseases are severe and life threatening, and are not cured, nor helped by apple cider vinegar and bicarbonate. Most people with auto immune diseases live extremely healthy lifestyles , it’s their own body that is destroying themselves. You are treated someone who has just told you how ill they have been for 7 years and you recommend apple cider and bicarbonate of soda. You are NOT being helpful you are being condescending rude and need serious lessons in listening.
Been watching and sharing Ren's music for a good few years. He deserves more recognition than he gets. Loved the comments you made, his music makes us all feel and also feel not alone...
Yay. Thanks Justin for reviewing Ren. Hi Ren is mind blowing. He used to be in a band called The Big Push doin covers but really well. The dude is a real talent in my humble opinion.
Ren is just pure genius. Have been following him since stumbling across him and Sam Tompkins singing "Blind eyed" few years ago. Seen him live with his band The Big Push in March 2020, awesome . He is a singer, rapper, musician, beat boxer, poet, storyteller, philosopher, all whilst battling an autoimmune disorder. Glad the music industry haven't got their claws into him so he can continue being his authentic self
Ah, I was one of them that commented about checking out this piece of work. I felt like you felt watching this. This is outstanding on so many levels. I'm right there with you x
Yourself and some of the other big names are exactly what we need to help push Rens name out to a wider audience. I've followed him ever since I saw him busking in town and he deserves billions of views
I've lost count of how many times I've watched Hi Ren, I choke up everytime. This piece of art is as shockingly brilliant as Bohemian Rhapsody was in it's time.
I was thinking exactly the same thing. There is Nothing else like these 2 songs in the world of Music. It only took 48 years for the Next Biggest Musical/Lyrical and this time Spiritual/Philosophical FKN WOW to turn up. My eyes get wet EVERY time i watch this. Id have to Add Wuthering Heights into this as well. If an Alien wanted the top 3 songs under 10 min of the last 100 years - this is what id give them. Songs fifteen min and over are another list .
YES!!! I saw Hi Ren right after it was released. Never heard of the guy & my jaw was on the floor - I immediately forwarded the song to my musician friends. We're all speechless
With over 40 years of complete and total immersion in music, I'm not sure I've ever heard anything that has so completely astonished me and left me in grateful tears by the ending. Ever. There's absolute starvation in the world for music that so articulately frames these struggles. This has altered my brain. And he's so, so young! Can we be this lucky?
Gosh, these nice men came to tell me how my feelings are wrong! A girl’s dream! It’s true, I know so very little. Gentlemen - and I mean this sincerely: Thank you for your service. 👋🏻
He’s a brilliant story teller and violets tale and the other two that come from that one are simply astonishing…considering they were written out of order!
Today, I'm speechless for once. Please watch Ren's song "Hi Ren" in full here, I couldn't play longer passages due to getting copyright claimed: ua-cam.com/video/s_nc1IVoMxc/v-deo.html
Watching your reaction (similar to mine) got me thinking about the last time a video.... Or rather "performance" stopped me in my tracks, mouth open, as this did. . Bohemian Rhapsody! (First release) . (Bearing in mind I was an impressionable 16 year old then)
@@rogerstarkey5390 The last time I was absolutely stunned by an artist was Childish Gambino, This is America. Before that it was Jeff Buckley. Before that it was Pearl Jam. I think that's great company for Ren to be among and I take it as a good indicator of how successful he already is as an artist, and how that might continue.
Thank you Justin for turning me onto REN! I’m fixated and fascinated by his musicality and exquisite story telling. At 65 I’ve been around and love music of all sorts, holy shit this guys talented. THANK YOU for showcasing this guy! I pray he has huge success. You’re a good man Justin to share your spotlight.❤️
Damn. That was powerful. So well thought out. A few simple lamps flashing at the crescendo created the mood people search for with huge light shows. His message so thought provoking. Bravo Wren. Bravo! Thanks for telling me about him, Justin.
Thank you Justin for bringing this incredibly talented artist to light, he really deserves recognition for the hard work he's put in over the last few years whilst being unwell physically and mentally. He's been my favourite artist since watching him and Sam Tompkins busking together a few years back.
Hi Ren is a masterpiece of performance art. It’s a fusion of singing, acting and musical arrangements with some beautiful cinematography and film directing thrown in. The subject is completely 🔥 and as we all now know, completely from REN’s heart and his own painful struggles in life. Completely gobsmacking. I love Ren and what he does!
Glad you're giving Ren a push with your platform. In any other musical era he would already be huge. Let's all hope he can break through the digital malaise. 🙏
I'm so happy you've found Ren, he's an amazing young man, I've been watching him on UA-cam for over a year, and I'm an old woman. He's got so much talent inside him, he can sing anything, he's the only person I can listen to rapping😁
He's great. Been a fan for a while. Glad you've found him and took notice. And sharing h.with your fans. Even more reach for the fella and his talent. 👍🏼🙂
I’ve never seen anything like this before, but glad I have now. To think he suffers a chronic illness and has this much talent is just unreal. He was clearly born to do this. Amazing!
Seems like the world is being split in two, those who are 'moved' by 'Hi Ren' and those who are not. All I know is that I can't stop listening to and thinking about this 'performance'. I think if I'd gone to see a play and this performance was in it, then it would have blown the roof off simply because it would have touched/affected/moved everyone in the theatre at the same time with the same emotions.
I understand that this is probably something that one will love or hate, nothing in between. I am personally not moved, it has no coherence at all, like "let's mix some weird and irrelevant stuff together and see what happens". Is this supposed to be a song? I have no idea who and what this is, so I have no context...
@Eva_L It's more of a performance with elements of a song in my opinion. It's an experience. I also don't feel it's random at all. It's very specifically meant to show what it's like to battle with your inner demons. The delivery is bipolar and chaotic on purpose, but the experience Ren is trying to share is coherent. I'm sorry it didn't resonate with you. I personally haven't heard something this impressive in a long time. Maybe not ever. It's so unique I don't even feel like I have the right words to describe how strongly I was impacted by this song.
@@davidm6329 "it's more of a performance with elements of a song" makes more sense, thank you for your take on this. I saw the video again, and I have to say that if you see/listen to it once as such a performance, as an experience, then it is more interesting. But it certainly is not what I would have on my playlist as a song to listen to.
I am a failed rock singer and know real talent when I see it. I found this band called "The Big Push" about a year ago. I thought they were awesome and all talented. Just today I found this song and am blown away! This young man is insanely talented. This song touched me, not to where I have to call the police but just connect with a lot of this song.
I was recommended to listen to Ren a few weeks ago ( this particular track ) and my reaction was exactly the same as yours Justin. I will be 62 this February and I have been involved with music since I was a teenager ( in some degree or another ) and I can honestly say ; " Ren is the most inspiring artist I have ever heard " Yes, that strong a statement ! I consequently listened to as much as I could after this video and what a musician / creative genius this fella is. The pure joy and life force he gets simply from playing music is staggering. With The Big Push, his bass playing alone proves what an extraordinary talent he has. Yep, MIND BLOWING ! 🙏
Hi Ren , there are no words to describe it - its astonishing. Found it just after it was released and as someone who has had mental health issues this both inspires and scares me. thank you Ren and thank you Justin
Thanks for introducing me to Ren, Justin! What an incredible work of art. I want to hip you and all to a recent singer songwriter that tragically lost his mental health battle in 2019. Zack Rosen was his name. He was my bassist, but for a while I was unaware that he wrote songs. I’ll never forget hearing the demos he shared with me for the first time, realizing he was an actual genius. Zack asked me to produce his debut album, which we were in the middle of making when he took his own life after a years-long battle with schizophrenia. It unfortunately had to be finished posthumously and comes out next month, 3/24/23, on Sean Lennon’s label Chimera Music.
Holy shit that was incredible. As a sufferer I felt every word pound at me with pure truth. The strange ensemble was perfect in its emotion it had. I would say definitely sit through this and listen well even if it isn't your thing. A wonderful insight into a world of a talented young lad
It's freaking awesome to see this. Thank you Justin for helping expand audiences of other artists. I've heard his style before in local acts, just not at this level. Witnessed so many creative acts never reach an audience beyond the other bands and their friends in the crowd. To see this now blow up is the best thing ever. This is such a great time for music. I can find any style now with artists just given'r. I never played in a band myself due to anxiety, just a bedroom guitar player. So to see other people bring to the stage something like this makes me so happy.
"What did I just watch?" - was my first thought. I sat back and realized I'd never seen anything quite like this before....and it was performed live. It's difficult to convey just how hard this must be to perform. Then I learned that this is normal for him. He has many one-take, single camera, "performances" - I won't say "song", because these are more than that....like you say.
Every single times he reaches that higher register point in the song, he inevitably goes deep down inside my heart and makes me cry, EVERY TIME. Every time, I want to sing like him, with him, high on top of trees, to the sun and everything else, I want to reach the stars and sing loud into the abyssal eternity, hoping his voice, hoping my voice will reach and echo into forever. Ren changed me a 'little' that day.
He really is that f****** special and powerful.... God I'm so just incredibly validated as selfish as it might sound LOL😅 but sometimes I don't know if my own judgment is exaggerated or I just feel TOO much..... Nope, it IS Ren! 😊 His beautiful soul Kansas reach out over miles and connect with your own directly,...❤️🔥💖💥✌🏼🙏🏼
Seriously Justin, watch through his whole back catalogue, he's by far THE best artist of the 21st century in my opinion. The guy's an absolute genius and legend in the making. His Jenny, screech and violets tales are mind blowing. Reminiscent of a modern day bard. Love him to the bones.
Yea I’ve been listening to Ren non stop since my friend linked to him New Years Eve. His talent heals the soul. Allllllll his music is wonderfully visual. His music videos engaging. And the pictures his lyrics create in our minds while listening are a mental Broadway performance.
When I first watched Hi Ren, I was like what on earth is this dude playing at? But its lyrically, artistically and visually sensational. His wordplay is phenomenal, his use of lighting emphasizes each persona, the shadow work that somehow gives you a sense of the sane Ren slowly emerging and becoming confident and taking control, to then standing up and releasing the frustration he's felt to the decrescendo of monologue that closes his story. All one has to do is let you senses free and soak it all in. By the end of it, I was like..... What on earth did I just witness......magic, an artist who is about to explode and create a whole new genre where, there can only be one. Sign me up, I'm here for it. 👏👏💯
The opening guitar playing always reminds me of some witcheresk age where folks killed each other with swords, and there was the one man who played an instrument and sang about the deaths and conquests of battle. It's medieval of sorts for me (rather than flamenco), but equally, I love how everyone interrupts it differently
I'm in my late forties and when I first saw/heard this song, it really moved me, and still does. I myself, like Justin said, feel like this guy is something amazing, a rarity among performers and writers. I've listened to several other songs of his since and all are of a higher quality than anything really. But it's funny, I've noticed there are a lot of older people commenting on this with the same feeling, but where is gen z ? I got my two oldest boys, (16+19yo) to watch and listen expecting the same reaction as I, being that it's from their own generation. They listen to mostly modern pop music, and they more or less panned it. I was flabbergasted to say the least. What is it that is missing from the younger generations that they can't see how powerful of a song and performance this is. This kid should be sitting on top of the world right now, by all rights.
They can’t see if because we, myself included, thinking we were helping, did everything in our power to shield them from the pain we grew up with. Now, the teens, young adults and adults, that we tried to protect have no clue. Is that a good thing? Did we do what we set out to do? Have we shielded them or are they just oblivious to the real world? If they are oblivious, what the F**K is going to happen when they don’t have us anymore? I’d like to think my grown child will be lost (the never ending needing to be needed Gen-X’r that I am) but part of me believes they’ll be fine, because I did what I set out to do…or maybe that’s just what I HAVE to tell myself to live with the guilt of feeling a failure as a parent; a damaged human being, that relates to this song in a DEEP, VERY REAL WAY!
Good on ya Justin! I had the same feeling watching and hearing “I believe in a thing called love”, the first time. I suspect having praise from a fellow like yourself will mean a great deal to this young man. My son is out there, lost in addiction and mental health crisis, I’m in recovery myself, and this performance mesmerised me the first watch, and on the third, really brought tears out. It’s a truly remarkable creation. Well done for showing your support for you sir are qualified to comment. ✌️❤️

I love putting the mental health aspect of life front and center, the patient, the star. It's about time people start looking past the hospital gowns.
@@ckinahan1 I was wondering what he'd done to his bedroom ...

Reading through the comments about Rens' tune on many other streams, I noticed that there are a lot of comments from people like me...middle aged blokes. It's no small achievement for a young, contemporary, indy rap artist to bring so many middle aged cynical blokes to tears and hit us in the feels.
Made me cry (only a tiny weeny bit). It's the honesty in it. Refreshing.
Yep mate, explains us perfectly
Tom MacDonald also worth a listen
We all need to protect Ren. He is a lyrical genius. I am super proud of him flying the flag for us all here in North Wales 🏴
Me too
Those of us who have been privileged to watch Ren over the years in Brighton already know he is brilliant but it’s so lovely to watch everyone else coming on board.
You are an OG Stan! I am jealous
WOT⁉️ Kept him to yourselves, now did you!? (stated with righteous indignation, for style reference, see John Cleese, the funniest human ever built by madmen unknown)You bloody 🤬...🤟😁❗(❤️ from 🇨🇦)
As an American, I'm super jealous; dude is a king ( no pun intended )
Had to watch this multiple times. Most original genius I’ve seen online wow!
You have never seen him have you
So fucking happy Ren is finally getting his flowers.
@@4kenseth Oh & don't forget Violet's Tale ! Goodness, it completes the story !
Quite a contrast to today's "music"!

He’s like a beautiful unicorn… you known they aren’t real but… there he is. And you just have to watch and enjoy it while you can.
Are you really comparing this guy to Van Gogh or Bowie already?! 😂 To me it sounds like Yungblud and Professor Green learned to play basic fingerstyle guitar. Not saying he’s talentless but think I’ll wait a bit before decreeing ‘legend’ status…
Erm no
@@InspirationSessions What’s hilarious is that he’s been at this for 10 years and he’s being treated as some unknown phenom.
Where have you been?
I kinda agree, I think Ren is really talented but this review makes you want to puke as you drown in its’ sickly sentimentality.
I don’t mean review, I meant comment!
Agreed.....70 here 😁
What do people find so moving about it? I really don't get it.

Thanks Justin for turning me onto Ren and thank you Ren, for being a truly amazing musician.
I think Ren is the absolute definition of talented and a true artist in every sense of the word 😊

Yes that’s very accurate. I’ve shown friends who won’t speak to me !
I understand that this is probably something that one will love or hate, nothing in between. I am personally not moved, it has no coherence at all, like "let's mix some weird and irrelevant stuff together and see what happens". Is this supposed to be a song? I have no idea who and what this is, so I have no context...
@@eval1114 Thank you for giving an honest response.
So good to see Ren & this song in particular getting the attention it deserves. It's genius.
It’s so inspiring to see an artist striving for greatness.
He stood up. That’s when I got chills.
Simply put, the best song I've heard in ages. So raw, so emotional, so honest, and so captivating. I have no idea how he will ever top that.
So glad you're covering Ren, he's awesome.
I remember seeing this guy around Brighton all the time. Used to draw massive crowds and always felt like he may be special. Way to go Ren!
The opening guitar playing always reminds me of some witcheresk age where folks killed each other with swords, and there was the one man who played an instrument and sang about the deaths and conquests of battle. It's medieval of sorts for me (rather than flamenco), but equally, I love how everyone interrupts it differently
I've spent hours listening to his artistry since watching this video Justin. He is on another level.
I have been following Ren for 3 years, and honestly, his music just gets better and better.
