Frankenthaler... Magnificent paintings. You might say they are old, but I want to watch them forever.

I greatly appreciate you allowing us to follow along as you gallery hop. As a collector of 3 years , I learn so much. It’s great to see and learn about the artist. I love Jenny’s work and will take a closer look. I have always loved Helen F. Your comparison of earlier versions of Helen’s work to later is spot on. I have been wanting to add an artist of historical significance to my collection. I’m hoping to add a lithograph or woodcut of her work. She really embraced print making during her career and there are plenty to choose from. Thanks for sharing .

Wow, So happy to see so many outstanding painters. What a great variety of well determined sensibilities and alternative practices; starting with Jenny Brosinski and ending with Tala Madani. Oehlen' s and West's (yes I smile every time as well) and reverent Frankenthaler just on another level, every time I see em!!! Great video. I find many of your intuitive observations keen and spot on. I Thank You

Great selection of shows and thank you for the excellent camera work especially the close ups which show the surfaces of the works and how they're made. Very enjoyable.

Your filmmaking is better than your understanding of painting. At least YOU want to say something. Both of them you named have mistreated their possibilities unless they never had any.

@@olafsager6056 Well, I see Kippenberger wannabes everywhere in contemporary art. I didn't say they were good or bad. Anyway who cares? But their presence in YT is very residual and to see them both in the same clip is a singularity.

greatly indebted, Mary. Ty! ..Oehlen resides among my pantheon of heroes, as does Helen F & while Jenny B is new to me, she def holds a vibe & emerges, imho, as a contemporary reinterpretation of the latter & a kindred spirt of the former

The eerily quiet tracking shots walking to the galleries are oddly reminiscent of Hitchcock's dream-like scenes in 'Vertigo' - in particular where PI James Stewart follows Kim Novak as she visits the museum in San Francisco to view the portrait of Carlotta Valdes.

Never thought I would hear that classic science-fiction film, the Omega Man, in one of these videos I saw it years ago and there is a another picture that seems to be a perfect companion to that film call Soylent Green. The same actor was in both films. Very enjoyable video with a nice variety of colors and themes. 😊

You showed quite impressive and wonderful works, but you know, what impressed me the most were the real oil company posters displayed by Minerva Cuevas.
I cannot define the feeling that passes through me in the face of such advertising campaigns. Reality delivers the most poignant punch.
    Thank you, Mary Lynn!

Oehlen's work here is fascinating---and I wonder to what degree inspired by de Kooning's Woman paintings, in palette and in gesture rather similar

"Then my father said if you wanted to be an artist, I'd have to find my own style." Everything seems the same to me🤔
I wonder how do you feel after seeing these works of art, internally fulfilled, calmed, full of inspiration and joy, in love or sad and hurt? I can hardly tolerate such chaotic artistic expression full of aggression and empty of content, I wouldn't stay five minutes in a gallery. I can't imagine how an artist feels after painting such a work. The state of mind of an artist who paints in this way can only be miserable, without inner beauty, without love, without empathy, these are the key qualities for raising the perception that serves as an inspiration to art. You don't have to find your own style to be a great artist, you have to find love to your self, your unique style will come by by exploring the self.

Is it just me or smth is wrong with those paintings? I mean modern art is an ingenious concept but not all modern paintings are good. And those paintings definitely need to be questioned.
To quote Bojack Horseman 'it has nothing to say and it said that nothing badly' (cant believe i just quote bojack)
