I never made it to the pinta but many of my homies did and some are in for life even in the bay. I was a ganbanger and addict for about 25 years until 9 years ago when I got sober. I’m finally a good family man and am blessed beyond measure that I didn’t lose everything or end up dead like many homies and familia. That’s real I lived in Oxnard California also but I’m from Fresno California and I had Colonia homeboy I like hearing your stories bro my homeboy from Colonia was Hella cool when I left back to Fresno I gave my homeboy a car because his family didn’t have much and And they always fed me when I did not have food because I was out there by myself going to collegeI just got a new car and therefore looked out for my home boy in Oxnard California and he did not treat me like the other blacks because in Fresno California blacks and Mexicans don’t hate each other but he explain to me why he felt the way he felt towards the blacks in Southern California and I understood but that was my true homeboy we are still friends to this day even though I’m back in Fresno

Funny hearing about Paso all these years later as YTS and DVI got more attention when I was there in the 70’s. San Miguel housed all the 187’s but no unit was easy for the soft. (Paso back then also had the contract for Federal youth offenders.) For those of us who were state raised we kept bumping into each other from Juvie to YA to CDC so your rep pretty much followed you as we watched each other grow older. Now I’m just an old dude who safely made it out.
