Been there, done THAT! As to "How are we going to do this?"... well, gaitors for one. Also go down side by side. And lose the hiking poles, they're just getting in the way on that steep looseness.
Great video. Better than any documentation of the pass I've seen. The shifting clouds/light adds a cool aesthetic aspect on top of the beta value. Just for any who may be looking at this for reference/beta/planning, ...following tightly the East side of the chute for the top half and the West side for the bottom half might be preferable for those more comfortable with class 3 scrambling than loose scree.
Nice video! I was up that way a couple days ago, coming up as a day hike from Lake Reflection. I aborted due to rain, wind and lightning so will have to try another time, but it's great to get some perspective on the sketchy glissade down.
Wow that was gnarley. Did you come up from the upper kern basin? Lake South America area? If so I was thinking of taking this opposite route up east creek and past reflection and up and over Harrison, but that would be a brute to come up with a heavy pack!! Nice video. I love that area. Cheers 🍻
I was going to to the same. after seeing this video I'm thinking about Millie's instead. going down Harrison looked rough. going up that would be brutal.
That pass looks like FUUUUN!!!! Massive glissade! I gotta go!!!!

Thanks for this, I will be doing this pass in August.

It’s like you are skiing on your shoes!!
Talus glissading... the Harrison Pass special. How much time did it take you to get from the pass to the tarn at ~12,000?
