Get rid of the barb and taking out a friendly fire self hook becomes soooooooooooo much easier. Helps you to stay HUGE.

first time i fly fished in 1990 my dad taught me the roll cast. I didnt start fly fishing again until 2016. the roll cast is definatly one of the most usefull now.
It also helped a lot getting into fishing 2 handed rods spey casting....basically just roll casting with sone extra steps.

You know you're getting good at roll casting when you can roll cast a tandem streamer rig with sink tip line. (It's a bit of a brag but it's like the only aspect of fly fishing I don't suck at)

Ben, could you do a video like this on waterloading? I feel when I have a strike indicator on a nymph setup, it is very hard to get a good false cast and roll cast, the strike indicator almost acts like an anchor and disrupts the movement of the fly. One of my friends said the best way to cast with a strike indicator is water loading down stream and then in 1 motion casting upstream but I could use some pointers cause it looks horrible
