No, it's source isn't Sanskrit at all, there may be a word similar to it in Sanskrit, but it is of Arabic origin and has entered Turkish through Arabic. Arabic and Semitic are cousin languages their ancestor language is Arameic (the language which Jesus Christ The Messiah, peace be upon him, spoke), the word has its roots in Arameic.
Turkish language has close to 1,000,000 words, about 90% of them are Turkish, the rest (10 percent) come from other languages like Arabic, Persian, English, French, Italian, Greek, Latin, German, Russian, Spanish in that decending order.
It may amaze some, for exaple the English language is comprised of words from different languages of which 29 percent is Latin, 29 percent is French, 26 percent is Germanic, 6 percent is Greek and 10 percent is from all other languages.
I'm a Turk who speaks Turkish daily in Turkiye.
      Best wishes. :)

    • @KenanTurkiye
      @KenanTurkiye 3 роки тому +1

@@Psychol-Snooper The discussion IS about the etymological aspects of the word, re-read the thread.
The person who initiated the thread mentioned the only word they know in Turkish is ''merhaba'' which means hello and another user merely pointed out the fact that it is from Arabic origin, which is correct.
You went off to another tangent about Sankrit and now claim the etymology of the word is not in question while instructing people directions of what to or not to do?.
Very well, have fun....by yourself? ;)

My main gripe is against the self appointed censors who tell other people they should not comment if they did not like the performance. But I guess if you are an English speaking North Korean, then freedom of speech is an unknown concept.

I really enjoy everything DryBar brings, and I watched this to the end (DryBar deserves the watch time, and I was hoping he might get funny at some point)
His crowd work was awkward and derogatory, and he opened up a beautiful chance for an ancestry joke given his audience, but that feel pretty flat.
I really hope great success for him in the future, But I did not enjoy this one bit sadly.
I read all the comments first before commenting this, and I saw others who agreed, and a number of other seemingly shill accounts intend to say “if you don’t like it, don’t comment” thanks shill accounts. :)

It's just a shallow and limited industry. If you don't have "diversity points" written on your face, they'll hold you to their race-based beauty standards all day. They only pretend to embrace diversity when it'll get them PR dollars.

I was going to say in the movie The Lost Boys he looks more like the short blonde curly haired guy I think he burped a lot.
He's certainly not a babe magnet but he's not ugly either. I heard this one time from a comedian he said he had gained some pounds over a period of time and was a bit chubby in the stomach and what not and he heard about the movie The Blob and he's like oh wow I would be perfect for that and he went and tried out and they turned him away and said he was too fat. And he's like too fat to play The Blob are you kidding? People have an idea in mind what they want to hire and for what jobs and you never know the real reasons why someone turns you down but if you're being told that you are too ugly I would consider that totally discriminatory. There was a tactful way to say what they wanted but wow that would suck.

Wow I'm not even halfway through and he just is horrible to his audience I don't understand how a comedian can insult his audience is often as this guy does and still draws laughs from them I think it's more pity laughs than anything else and this is my opinion but oh my goodness is he negative. And I read a few other people's comments that feel like me but he can't read his audience at all or he just doesn't care. All those awkward silences tell you something if you're listening. I don't think I want to watch the rest of it it's just so negative and he insults practically everyone he talks to. you think someone that was single with no kids would be a happier person according to him anyway but I really don't think he's happy and it shows again my opinion. I know it's not nice to put someone down for what they do when you don't understand it but it's rare that I can't finish someone set because I'm turned off. Being mean to people is just not funny and if you laugh because he makes fun of other people then that says a lot about you. ( Excluding making fun of others NOT in your audience) I haven't laughed at all during his set and like I said I'm not even halfway through and I can't watch anymore. Just to show you that I'm not an evil person I was watching another person's clip and they were talking about something extremely funny about men drivers vs. Women drivers and someone made a comment that for whatever reason said that it was like watching Larry the Cable Guy they are not funny. And I was like Larry the Cable Guy is funny in his own right that's just not my kind of humor but you shouldn't put someone else down because you don't understand what they do I'm sure if I was from his hometown I would think he was hilarious but I identify with Ron White more so what he does I am completely in hysterics where I can't breathe from laughing so hard.
Other people are like all he knows how to do is drink and smoke but it's his stories that are funny because that's the kind of guy he is. To bring it around full circle though, insulting others especially your audience is not funny or smart.
I know I don't have to watch his whole skit to know that he continues to State derogatory stuff towards his audience members. Ouch.

I think the crowd was into him. They just weren't exactly sure how to take his humor.

When you grow up in the Northeast area New Jersey Pennsylvania New York nobody outside of those three states think you're funny you are absolutely hilarious though you're talking to a room full of Mormons that were all arranged marriages

Most of this felt mean spirited and very "boomer humor". First comedian I have seen on this channel rely so heavily at jokes centered on tearing things down and depreciation

I don't think I've ever paused and shut down a comedian so fast. Not everyone thinks you are funny I guess. Byw you look like sean penn

It's called crowd work. It's a staple of stand-up. Unfortunately, he's playing to a moronic audience with no sense of humor.

Drybar Comedy seems to have become the Anti-Halmark chanel, where single people try to make an uncomfortable audience make them even more miserable by laughing at them.

This guy just didn't resonate with me. It's probably normal comedy but a little lowbrow for Dry Bar.
I bet he knows what the Joke Proper is. He certainly knows flippancy.
