    Ive really enjoyed using Divisimate for the last few months. The loopback feature (and some of their newer features) is a really successful way to work. I've now been working on a template that has a single track from Cubase to send out to loopback to separate it to send back into tracks into Cubase so that i have both the original input record (which could then be used to alter the primary data and rerecord the individuals) and the individual parts already printed. Plus if you configure it correctly you can essentially use that to then still have individual recordable parts (still working that piece out though in cubase, ableton/logic/digital performer has a bit better routing in my opinion in this area on midi routing, but working with midi sends) within the main tracks. So essentially Loopback out to DM back to Individual Tracks (with the DM Input) but then have that route to the final output/main track that communicates to VE Pro. It's a bit crazy but really want the flexibility to do quick templating out via mass chordal input but still be easily able to do the individual parts as needed without dealing with the mess of passthrough on/off (since i'm on windows and midi routing isnt as good as CoreMidi on mac for port assignments (since you cant have two programs with the same port being accessed)). But yeah its super powerful design and so glad that 1.3 added saveable simple templates to share.

      thx for the comment; Well i spend a good time thinking and overthink workflows , so this app was already in my head before existing so to say. You adress a real issue: some apps solve a problem and create another, so we cant be just emotional about it. Another issue is the price; for this price i want a definitive practical solution, not an additional problem. In this sense i se if i can get similar results by other means. The main mistake people do is to confuse instrumentation with orchestration, and orchestration with orchestral composition.

      it means also a display just for this app

    it is something that i wanted for years, but anyway i wonder if this is better than the traditional workflow from piano direct. Is clear to you all how much music Mozart and Richard Strauss did? This may have to do if concentration on piano part alone first.

    I love Divisimate. Doesn't play nice with Logic Pro x though - you only get 16 ports...

      @@emanuel_soundtrack yes. When I say 32 ports I mean 32 inputs. If you use multiple channels in one port then each channel counts as an input. It’s enough to run Divisimate though.

    Bill great channel. Been following you since your AI Music (Orb Composer) days. I'm currently looking at Divisimate and Vienna Ensemble Pro 7, both currently about the same price. I know they are different products but which would you say is more useful (powerful) in your daily workflow? The free orchestra with VEP7 seems like a heck of a value. Thanks, you, and I look forward to your next video.

      Unless you need the networking for better performance, Divisimate is a great choice.

    Which Instrument Library are you using?
    Did you set up the templates or were they provided?

      Berlin Strings, Brass, and Woodwinds mostly. Most templates were provided.

    Is it possible to have a plugin like Scaler or Chordjam in front of divisimate, so that you let those plugins create the chord progression and divisimate spreads it out to the different instruments?

    • @BillMcFadden
      @BillMcFadden  3 роки тому

      Not sure how they would interact. Possibly.

    • @OneShortMoment
      @OneShortMoment 3 роки тому +1

      Yes, it is… Although it was originally designed mostly for live playing / recording, Divisimate technically doesn’t care where the input comes from. So if you feed the output of (e.g.) Scaler into the MIDI input of the loopback track that’s used by Divisimate, it will work as if you’ve played the generated chords „by hand“.
