I am student of linguistic sciences, I cannot understand this language however when I hear this beautiful and heart touching dialect and get the flow, swim and travel on Albanian words, trust me it gives me complete sense of understanding according to the language which is by default inhereted and brimmed up in my mind like English and Urdu, Excellent language with lovely dialect. Listening different language increases mental ability to understand lifestyle and cultural of dialects dwelling in different areas of this world. Thanks

I'm Welsh and will be travelling to Albania in September. Interesting that the Albanian dh is the same as our Welsh 'dd' and also your word 'dora' (for hand is similar to our Welsh 'dwrn' for fist). Also interesting that Albanian recognises the schwa sound with the letter e which, in Welsh, we write with the letter 'y'.

You are the first video I found that I feel like I honestly really do have a chance of learning this from. This’ll probably be the first time you ever seen a girl inspired to learn Albanian because I made friends with a guy from this game we both play and messaging together on it now more then playing ☺️ but using Google Translation get me flustered plus This is a beautiful language And an even more interesting culture than I ever had imagined possible.

I am so confused right now. I watched a video about about the albanian alphabet a few days ago, the digraph Dh was pronounced as V. Later I was using Google Translate, it was pronouncing it as D. Because of that I checked how to read it on UA-cam again, but on a different video. They were saying that as Ll 😭. Your video was literally so important for me.

Are you native or good enough in Albanian to help me translate something I need for my UA-cam channel? I want to translate it in a lot of languages and Albanian is one of them, since a lot of people speak this language. I already have Dutch, English, French, German and Turkish... Help me, please... :)

I really love your videos. You are so good at teaching. How about to make a video where you would be talking about the differences between north and south albanian (gheg and tosk) ? And talking about miscommunication between albanians? I know that there are many differences between those two dialects. Keep doing the good work. 👏🏻

    • @learnalbanianwithviola

“Ë” sounds to me a lot like the schwa used in English. I am referring to the unstressed vowel sound that is represented by an upside down lowercase “e” (ə) in pronunciations found in English dictionaries. You hear it in words that only require you to open your mouth a little bit like the letter “a” in “canoe” or the letter “o” in “carrot”. Am I perhaps on to something here?

Can you just answer me why is that some albanian speakers spell the word "Shqipëri/a" or "Shqiptar" as it's written but I've also heard many times that some speakers spell them in way that as the letter "q" doesn't exist in the word. It usually sounds as "Shipëri" or "Shiptar" ???

Are you speaking a modern Albanian language or are you speaking the original Albanian language of hundreds of year ago?
In other words, has this language changed through the years? Reason I'm asking is that I was told that Albanian language has changed through out the years.
