There are two version of Hunt: Showdown.
The 1*-Low 5* game and the Mid 5*-6* game.
One of them is fun to play, the other isn't. At least in my opinion.
I rarely see Avto/Nitro/DolchP in the fun version of the game.

Literally exactly my current go-to loadout in 6-star. Simple, cheap, versatile and effective. I'm so glad that so many people don't realise how strong the crossy is in trained hands...

@@goranbratos2097 Crossbow is used very often everyone knows about it already. Shotguns are just better in a lot of ways.
My highest win percentage in this game is using a springfield marksman and a Spitfire. That’s the beauty of Hunt, every loadout can help you succeed.

in 6 star lobby game feels like a COD game, but has the clunkyness that hunt of course has.. thx god im not 6star.
imagine playing cod with trade kills every where, alot less mobility, and even mobility mechanics that punish u for double jump/crouchmove. pretty much sounds crap lol... would rather play in 5 star and be strategic/hunt-like
Hunt isn’t super clunky cod is just super floaty, I’d say hunts more realistic in mw2 you slide, jump, and dolphin dive everywhere if you’re sweaty and the best thing is to drop shot and pre fire around every corner. Hunt feels more tactical somehow with a lot more creeping and planned out movement while listening to every step other players make edit: I’m just saying in general I think you basically know hunts more strategic
Berthier with slot 1 having spitzer and slot 2 having normal ammo paired with an uppercut. It's basically an upgrade to mosin uppercut. Spitzer allows you to go for long range headshots easier while berthier reload speed and ammo swap gives you free bulletgrubber and lets you do full damage at close range with quickswap. I think people sleep on the Berthier when it's essentially a mosin with a faster reload (2.21 s) with 2 less bullets in the magazine.
I hate the sights on it so much
iirc the berthier was slept on not because people think it's bad, but because the sights are misaligned and you'd end up shooting lower than your intended target a lot, and for a long while the position of the gun relative to the camera is actually bugged, causing you to appear taller when peeking. last I checked only one of these issues were fixed which is the position bug but hopefully the sight issue gets fixed too.

Hmm no bomb lance? I sleep 😴 In all seriousness, I love running any and all flavors of shotgun but the Crown & King is the one shotgun I just can't seem to do well with. I have much better luck with the Romero 77 than anything else. Something about that hit and run playstyle is just so fun.

This is a d**k comment but you don't know pain until you're a 6 star without 6 star friends to play with. Having 3 people as good as you aiming at you means almost guaranteed death. The MMR in this game is a joke and ruins the enjoyment for just a large amount of the player base. My poor teammates having to get dragged into these lobbies man.
Play more aggressive and you won't have to worry about that
no mmr in this game would be even more of a joke tbf, you got lil timmy just tryna get a bounty vs Thomas McChad with 4 ammo crates and a long ammo gun + uppercut/sparks pistol for even more ammo just raining bullets on the kid

I have played across all MMR’s and I’m going to be honest, i die more frequently to snipers or shotguns than i do to the avto. Mostly because i play a lot of medium range stuff and i tend to stay out of reach of the avtomat when I can. Lol
Every time my mmr gets boosted up to 5 or 6 stars I just straight up start throwing untill I drop down to 4. It feels like every single 5/6* lobby runs only these meta loadouts, there is 0 vareity in this gameplay and it just feels so boring.. but then again deranking also feels kinda wrong since its pretty much smurfing. If you constantly get placed into these higher elo ranks you obviously belong there, right? idk it really feels like a lose/lose scenario
It all depends on perspective. I consider six star lobbies to be a place for absolute nerds who will do anything it takes to win. I am an aggressive player who actually enjoys taking risks and making plays. Therefore imo I do not belong in six stars as that is the place where all of the no lifers are. Same goes for really high KD players.

I'm slow motion full screen 1440p and I physically cannot tell @1:20, 1. why are you even looking there 2. what do you even shoot at? There is literally nothing there where you are aiming except trees
Why does it seem like the game is not working and I can't hit people. And then sometimes it works an I can actually hit other hunters. It seems like the games only working about 10% of the time for me. Most the time its all skippy an I can't lock on hunters an if I do its arm damage.
brother just imagine being brain damaged and playing an auto gun in this game, destroying all the atmosphere of past historical times when people were using single-shot rifles for just win the game without struggle and cowboy duels. cringy af
it happened again last night. my input stopped counting. i had bounty. seen a hunter with dark sight. so like 5 shots just went through him. he ran down under a bridge. no matter what i did, my hits did not register. ooop. he got me. an its a legendary hunter. i wasn't even getting body, arm or leg dmg, nothing.
Strongest weapon is lebel marksman/mosin sniper, if played correctly. The nitro bodyshot range changing with shredder is stupid imo and shouldn't be a thing.

6 stars on console is eat up with this stuff. Avto or Nitro on every team every single match.
Its bad here on PC too, 10 mins into any match you'll hear an avto spray and everyone on the team will collectively say "of fucking course there's an avto"

i suck with rifles.. so im a bomb lancer/shotgunner dude. I occasionally rock the bow/crossbow. However, after saying that, i been using the "ferryman's oar" with spitzer ammo for the questline and i obliterated people in gun fights who are hiding behind all kinds of stuff. Its ridiculous the damage penetration is almost always one shot kills. almost too OP. So now i fear this gun in the hands of all you hunters that are actually good with quick aiming with rifles.
I don't think I could main Nitro / Avto / Crown, just to try and compete continuously with sweating 6* trios. It's honestly boring as hell, not at all fun. Crytek really messed up imho with these power weapons. I think the majority of players would not miss them if they disappeared tomorrow.
Avtomat needs to be nerfed hard, ammo capacity and reloading speed, Nitro is fine you only get a few bullets and when i play that gun it rarely one taps even when i shoot upper torso, dolch P is fine since u need trait + its 800 gold and spitzer sniper is also no real problem you can always just leave vs these teams if you dont wanna fight them

The one thing I love and hate about my brain damage is I can go from being a fucking chad 6 star to bring the worst 3 star in the world in a matter of days.
Usually I die to Winnfield headshots or snipers from 200 meters away when I go against 6 star players.
I use the Winfield m1873 musket bayonet and the Caldwell conversion uppercut
The best thing about hunt is, you can wipe the entire lobby with every weapon you master... And die to a nagant deadeye the next game.

Im happy the community is pointing out the shredder as problematic but imo I think the spitzer/slugs are another ammo type that needs that same disgust but not as heavy as shredder is received.....
The good thing about these annoying op weapons is the people who sue them end up in six stars against other people who use them.

Can anyone tell me what settings are being used in terms of DPI/Sensitivity? Players like this guy and others who have a lot of time in the game always seem to have very smooth mouse movements almost like they're using a controller, I feel like I am missing some vital part or setting in game or out of game that is preventing me from being able to STAY in 6 star because every time I get there its never for long. Also, does anyone know how they do that small hop? its not a jump because they make no noise, and they can still do that little hop even without lightfoot, it almost looks like the crouch hop you would do in old counter strike where you would just press crouch quickly and bring your feet up to your torso... I can't figure out how theyre doing it here, I only have a few hundred hours in the game and no one I play with has played as much as I have so I have no sources other than these videos but they never talk about this kind of thing.

Bomblance isn't the best but that's my vote for most hated to play against
Tbh i really like nitro. I love that its a really strong weapon but its clunky(so you need to specifically learn it) and the ammo is limited. Probably makes me hates in the community but its my fav weapon with krag and bomblance.
the nitro is just bad weapon design for a game like hunt where all other weapons have to either headshot / 2-shot or 3-shot or be in range. the only people having fun with the nitro are people playing the nitro.

@Kurt Thorsten I'd argue otherwise. The nitro is basically the rocket launcher from halo in hunt. Everyone can be good with a nitro just as it doesn't take a genius to use a rocket launcher. The fun in the nitro is killing nitro users for free cool shit.

My general play style for jack of all trades is hand crossbow normal/poison for close range and pve, paired with a Winfield swift with incendiary because I’m not good enough to headshot at range or pinpoint location through walls, the fire ammo lets me attack at range and even if it doesn’t kill it’ll pressure by igniting them, with levering of course. If I have extra points I upgrade the hand crossbow to a terminus with either buckshot, flechette, or penny shot depending on if I’m doing pvp, pve boss rush, or buckshot for a mix of both

6* lobbies. the higher you get the more it seems (atleast of my experience) that people are going more for pvp than bounty. of course that means if you fight another team you get a 160meter sniper headshot from somewhere and some other team more often than 5* and below

Huge advantage to play the game at 10 Ping when usually it's 35 to 50 at least.
Not sure how huge of an advantage it can be when the game allows the enemy player to take their shot regardless of their ping. Not sure what it’s called but it’s the reason a lot of people trade or get hurt after killing another Hunter. In a way, the game is lenient to those with higher ping

I would say mosin sniper / lebel marksman is actually my #1 gun in hunt. If you stay within your sniper range there is pretty much nothing anyone can do to you if they dont get hyper lucky. if you play avto / nitro / clown you can get grenade killed, wallbanged or hunt: tradedowned so you can actually die unlike with mosin (at least thats my take on it)
So you are one of the many boring snipers that camp in a bush for the whole match really fun....
