BlackScoutSurvival - Dude, that has to be one of the sickest flashlights I've ever seen. I already ordered one, that bezel is insane! There's no flashlight I've ever seen that has a bezel like that. I've seen way more expensive flashlights in this range that don't have a bezel anywhere near as aggressive as this one. It's really impressive, plus 1150 lumens, outstanding!
It looks really, really cool. I like the memory feature. I tend to use certain flashlights at certain levels (low for camping, highest for car repairs and things that go bump in the night) - so I really only need two settings - and a memory goes a long way towards fixing that.
Dinner-fork tongue - That's good to know, those flanged tips are "just" about non-lethal, imagine a flashlight with those flanged tips, but they were sharpened and were double edged? Of course that probably wouldn't be legal, and definitely not safe to use at all. But imagine how sick that would be? It would be more like a bayonet.
Awesome flashlight Bryan! I like the basic model a lot and the Black Scout Survival edition is even better. Cool color and nice extra features. The red filter is always handy. I like it. I tend to use red light quite a bit with my headlamps. Is really nice when you don´t want to wake up everyone in the camp. Have a great weekend Bryan :) As always big thumbs up!
Yeah I'm here. Congratulations my friend...lol. Looks like a really good strike bezel Bryan. It would useful in a self defense situation. Given the restrictive laws here in the UK its one of the only options we have left. Great idea from Jack .u
+Survival On Purpose. I'm not sure it is Bryan. It's not available on Amazon UK yet. I'll have to try and find out if a torch with an aggressive strike bezel is deemed to be an illegal carry weapon. If I can find out I'll let you know.
+Survival On Purpose. Right Bryan here we go. After a quick bit of research I found out that a torch with an aggressive strike bezel is legal carry in the UK. The only caveat to this is that the torch must NOT be modified for use as a weapon in ANY way. The real difficulty arises when the torch is used in a self defence situation. If any physical harm is inflicted on the aggressor the torch with the bezel MAY be deemed as a weapon and, the law enforced accordingly. Disclaimer for UK people( sound professional here). I am NOT an expert on UK self defence law. The above statement is simply my interpretation of a situation which I must admit is as clear as mud ! Phew I'm exhausted now :-)
No necessity for balance and orientation test , just sticking it in a board`s bull eye and leaving it there for a while , would prove the point . As always , nice video ! Thanks !
Thanks for this. Saw it on BSS channel and how to use that strike bezel in a tough situation. Appreciate your take on it. If I did not have the first black one you showed, I'd be on Amazon snagging this one. And with that many lumens? Nice. If I break mine or lose it on a 7 hour flight to Ireland (been there, done that recently, so this is my second), I'll get this version.
The only thing I'd change on this is the tail boot. Make it not black but some vivid GITD phosphorescent color like green or blue, to complement the ease to see the light in your typical nighttime light levels thanks to the color of the anodizing. I've tried a grey torch with a green GITD tail boot (Convoy S2 for those interested) and by golly it's far and wide my easiest light to find in a murky room or unlit sidewalk if I drop it. Now, if BSS and Wowtac made also the superbudget A1 like this, even if costing a buck or two more...
Do not buy ONE of these lights. You need to buy two! The Blackscout version is really great. I bought one and liked it so much I turned around and ordered a second one in case I lose the first one. The light is insane !
Nice light Bryan....might have to finally step into the future and switch from AA lights and go with rechargeable lithium type batteries...this looks like a good flashlight to make the change with ---price is outstanding and it does look cool...
alex o'neal - I have switched from AA and AAA battery flashlights, the 18650 batteries are where it's at. The flashlights are just better, plus recharging batteries saves a lot of money and they last pretty long honestly. I use mine daily and I charge up maybe a couple of weeks without having to charge.
Marth 18650 models are my go to as well. Outside of them, I've found myself only using AAA minilights (Thrunite Ti3 and Lumintop Tool to be specific) because they're so conveniently small and easy to mouth hold without gagging or getting a sore jaw.
Dinner-fork tongue - I have a tactical pen with a built in mini light, so that's a companion to my TX-11 which is my EDC flashlight. I'm only going to carry one main flashlight, so having a tactical pen with a small light is great for smaller tasks and great for holding in my mouth if I have to.
Thanks Brian! I've several flash lights with most every feature including one with 4 color lights internal. Never knew the red protected night vision. Just one question though. Will the striker end help me fight a Robo Cop? Just for fun!
I really want this light, but it is not on Amazon, your info. tells us that it's on Amazon but all they have is the black ones I'm looking for the one you feature, so where can I get the light please provide info.
I also respect that choice. However, with that bezel, I think he could have stuck it in the target and with the light on. lol I wouldn't be dropping it either. Always good reviews/videos here!
I don't like the color. I don't like the assault bezel either. The red filter is kind of nice I suppose if you had some use for it. I'd be more likely to buy it if it was black or some other less flashy color. I don't know why they couldn't make another ring that didn't have the red filter so you could take that awful looking assault bezel off and just have a normal flashlight.
Thanks Bryan for checking it out!
I get mine tomorrow :)

Yes it does
That bezel is a beast! I've never seen such an aggressive bezel before on a flashlight. I'm getting one.
Marth
The Olight M## "Striker" series has some nasty pointy bezels too.
Dinner-fork tongue - That's good to know, those flanged tips are "just" about non-lethal, imagine a flashlight with those flanged tips, but they were sharpened and were double edged? Marth
I can see a flashlight bayonet coming up on a sci-fi setting, actually...
+Marth neither have I
I get mine delivered tomorrow :) I like the red lenses and the strike bezel
+Chris Lambert so do I
Good review. I hope to get one of these.
Always enjoy your pickin in the videos.
+B Mathews I appreciate that. I'm working on getting a better audio quality sample of some of my fooling around on the guitar to use

+Jani Sukanen thanks. I actually did have a great weekend. I attended a survival training event. Stay tuned for more on that
I like that it comes with a red lens.
+Jake Riethmeier me too Jake
Thanks for the review Bryan. That will go great with my sidearm and the 2 firstedge tanto blades I ordered.
+Couch Potato yes it will
Yeah I'm here. Congratulations my friend...lol. Looks like a really good strike bezel Bryan. It would useful in a self defense situation. Given the restrictive laws here in the UK its one of the only options we have left. Great idea from Jack .u
+Steven Robertson i'm surprised this is legal there

I like quality flashlights. I have several Fenix lights but this is very nice and a good price. Thanks Bryan.
+Scott Johnson I think Jack did a great job with this one
I've been thinking about purchasing this light thanks for the review
+Roland Lowhorn I think it's a good light
I just ordered mine coming tomorrow, sounded awesome for 40 bucks. Happy I got it when it was in stock because it ran out fast last time!
Yeah, I think they have a new model out already
That strike bezel was calling out for a balance and rotation test.
+elk hunter I considered it only briefly
Very cool! great review Bryan!
Thanks for watching.
No necessity for balance and orientation test , just sticking it in a board`s bull eye and leaving it there for a while , would prove the point . As always , nice video ! Thanks !
+Malvina Carabas it's not really quite that sharp
Thanks for this. Saw it on BSS channel and how to use that strike bezel in a tough situation. Appreciate your take on it. +Terry Taylor Who knows, they might not even let this one on the plane
True. Maybe unscrew the bezel and, well, not sure where to put that on a bag for flight. They snag everything. Still got the lumens!
That was great! Thanks!
+Stephan Butler thank you for watching

Awesome!!
+Raven Six pretty cool Huh?

+Steve Lucier only if you can access it's motherboard
I'm switching to the 18650 batteries they hold a charge well. Anyone else making the switch?
+Nick H Deep 6 Leather Works I did
I really want this light, but it is not on Amazon, your info. tells us that it's on Amazon but all they have is the black ones I'm looking for the one you feature, so where can I get the light please provide info.
+Urban tactical survival maybe they are sold out. The link in the video description should go to this light.
I missed the balance test. lol
David Moore I bet it would have passed the test , I respect Bryans choice not to abuse this particular light. Thanks Bryan for the great review.
I also respect that choice. However, with that bezel, I think he could have stuck it in the target and with the light on. lol I wouldn't be dropping it either. Always good reviews/videos here!
+David Moore I don't think it would stick
cool light BUT ill take the tn12 over this all day :)
Both are good

Awe, "throw it". Lol
+Cory Gardner ;-)
how come you never throw your flashlights at your knife board. LOL I know that stupid.
+Steve buckskinner 54 it just doesn't have the same appeal to me
