Great video! I became a Christian but spent many years far from him - I was like the seed that fell onto shallow ground. I was initially overflowing with joy but then the devil snatched it away from me because I wasn't knowledgeable. I found him again and still again, was influenced by the world, whist knowing in the depths of my heart I was doing wrong. I have since found him again and this time I will stay and do my nest to bear fruit. I am afraid of God and what will happen when it is time.
We all struggle with sin brother! It is faith that saves! Also remember, you don’t do your best to bear fruit. You submit to God and love according to the way Christ set for us, and you will bear fruit! He is the vine, without him we can do nothing! Also, remember this! There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus! I also understand the struggle of sin, and how disheartening it can be when you love God and want to do what is right. But it sounds like you may need some encouragement with assurance! I’ve been there often lol I’d recommend watching Paul Washers video, “is God a forgiveness machine”! It helped me immensely when I was dealing with feelings of condemnation! I’ll be praying for you brother! Just get plugged into a good church with Godly leadership and seek the Lord with all your heart!!
I think it is important to start with what isn't considered bearing fruit. Jesus isn't talking about material possessions and physical wealth, but rather fruits of the spirit. How we approach people (with kindness, mercy, long suffering, patience and love) and helping others come to repentance and faith in Christ
Hello. Thanks for the teaching. Maybe you can help me with a question I have. I have learned about the fruit of the spirit in galatians and one part of that fruit is Love. So if the fruit is by the spirit it seems that I cannot produce love by myself. But here in john 15 Jesus commands us to love in order to abide in him (john 15:10). So here it says that we have to keep His commandments to abide in Jesus. The confusing part is that it seems contradictory: to produce fruit (loving actions for example) we are commanded to love. I do not understand how he can command us to love if love itself is the fruit.
@matildatobin4449 John 15 references prayer in verse 7 and glorifying the Father in verse 8. All of this is so that our joy may be complete. It’s a joyful experience to put the ball in Gods court through prayer, not touching his glory. Prayer ensures reliance on God rather than self.

For me it’s a comfort to know that what God commands he also empowers us to do by His Spirit. Colossians 1:29, Philippians 2:13
