- The Alliance Alive was a game I wish I played on 3DS last two, so luckily the HD remastered version will be out soon and I’m pleased to say it’s pretty fun. Hope you enjoy my review!

But I. All seriousness, I really love this game.
I appreciate the usual depth you dived into this game with, it is now on the radar and seems like they did a good job on the remaster.
I'll be sure too pick this up; I remember loving the free demo on the 3DS which I think is still available, for those who are on the fence about the game and have a 3DS around give it a go.
I am definitely picking this up,for sure. I haven't gotten to play this on 3DS yet, but it's been on my radar since that original version wa announced. It really seems to capture the feel of the classic PSone/PS2 RPGs that I love so much
yeah, and it sounds like it won't be as overly easy as the ps1 ff games, which is my main gripe with them.
Well this video definitely sold me on the game! I wasn't so sure as from what little I've seen, nothing really stood out to me, but the bits of dialogue shown and the combat system got me interested.
Looking even more forward to this coming out now! Great video! I will definitely enjoy this title on my Switch.
Can't wait for Tuesday. Have a PS4 copy paid off.
It's nice to see the game got rereleased. I think a lot of people missed out of the 3ds version.
On a side note atelier Ryza sold well in Japan.

I was planning to pick up the 3DS version when this was announced. I went ahead and purchased the collector's edition from NISA website right away.

I did NOT know this was getting a remaster. How interesting. I was literally thinking last night how I need to go back to finish it on the 3DS. But now that I know it’s getting a remaster, it’s probably better to wait.
Alliance Alive already has a remaster (The Legend of Legacy also just got announced to be getting one too next year), it’s out now :) (if you meant Legend though, yes, probably better to wait :))
@@JRPGJungle Yes I did mean Legend :) I know Alliance has a remaster already and I really want to play that as well since I never played the original Alliance. I love their art styles so much!!
Nice! Glad to hear it turned out so well; I know I was impressed with it's HD transition from the moment the first trailer dropped - I'm totally in line with your thinking there. That aesthetic works really nicely on PS4, especially when there are similar games like Oninaki and Lost Sphear built from the ground up for modern consoles/PC that also go for a similar retro-influenced-without-using-pixels look. My backlog is embarrassing at this point (I really have been doing a terrible job of actually finishing off the RPGs I've picked up this year), but I'll probably nab this at some point soon anyway (though I also really wanna pick up the PS4 version of Legrand Legacy that just came out).... I just really gotta finish up something that I've already started earlier this year :P
Haha can understand being behind, I realised I didn't finish any games in September while I was playing Alliance which is weird for me! :p but yes, it did remind me of games like Oninaki in that sense too, I think it's a good trend :) hope you enjoy it if you try it ^__^

I didn't realize this was out.
I'm trying to get back into single player RPGs again and I did enjoy this but fell off for some reason. I think I was kind of lost perhaps...it was on that hang glider sort of part. Up in the mountains I think...
But good review makes me want to see further as I did enjoy the skills / special attacks in the combat and how you earned them somewhat frequently. I'll keep my eye open for more suggestions.
Waiting for this game to release in PC.

I've played/enjoyed/finished the 3DS version. I've also played Legend of Legacy, but haven't finished it yet. In some ways, Alliance Alive's system feels like an improved version of the system used in Legend of Legacy.
As for the HD version? I do want to get it, but I also have other games to get. Funny thing is quite a few of them are going to be double dips if I get them. So it's not going to be during the month of release sadly. Maybe next year? Regardless it's good the game will be on more systems now.
Finally, the main thing going for the 3DS version is how it uses the 2nd Screen. Ie the usual stuff you'd expect including reducing clutter. Which is one of my favorite used of the 2nd screen. Granted for most people the benefits of the 2nd screen aren't going to be enough incentive to play a version on a lower res system.
Great review. I now have to decide whether to get this and ni no kuni on PS4 first or get dragon quest and fire emblem on switch. Too many JRPGs lol
I beat this game once already on the 3DS but I'm really tempted to get this remaster and beat it again.
How was in your opinion? Thinking about getting it during the PSN sale
Just started this after finishing Elden Ring. Wanted something light and fluffy, but seems like at some point the difficulty ramp spikes. Should be fun to grind through when that happens.

I really enjoyed the game originally on 3ds so no doubt i'll be picking this up but the only thing i would've liked it voice acting but alas it still a great game
is it ok to manage the stats of the characters even though there are no levels? how can you know if you are over/underlevelled? nice channel btw
The way I knew was mostly by battle/basically trial and error lol it's a little hard to know before admittedly, but it kind of makes it fun to work out if skill levels need to be higher from that battle itself rather than numbers :3
In the end I dropped the game after 15h or so. In general it felt clunky, I found moving across the map and the dungeons rather boring and even in the battles, there are many skills and combinations available but I always ended up using the same 2 skills and the same party members. But well it's ok, now I am playing Atelier Ryza and making another path in Fire Emblem 3H. I saw your other videos about Atelier and it's a series I want to know more about.
I'm for sure gonna get it on PC.

Any added benefit to the PS4 version? Like PS4Pro enhancements, Trophies or is it 1:1 with the switch version?
There are trophies! I can't speak on PS4 Pro as I just have a regular PS4, but definitely saw some trophies pop :3
Bruh, there are no games that don't have trophies anymore on Sony platforms. It's been required since like Metal Gear Solid 4.

How much is this game? Do you think it's worth it at this price?
Looks like it's $49.99, which I personally think is pretty reasonable. It was 30 hours for me and there were still enough things I could do with character development and side stuff that for me it was worth it, especially since I didn't play it on 3DS :3 to each their own of course, especially if double-dipping :3 hope that helps!

I played The Alliance Alive on the 3DS and I couldn't get through it. I thought it was kind of generic. I probably won't buy it on the PS4. It's cool that you liked it, though.

I feel like Nintendo gets way more smaller but quality JRPG titles than PS4 does. I guess JRPG just can't compete with the big western titles on console anymore. Sad times
Discusting Nintendo DS chibi visual style. 3/10 I like speak bubbles though. Kinda makes me think of Vagrant Story.

Disappointed they couldn't even be bothered to add voice acting to this. And charging the same price as a new game for this? I want to support NISA, but this feels like a cash grab.
