@David B. III I understand completely David. And the irony since my post and now your reply is for the 2nd time in 4 years, I have been blindsided by a corporate sell off where everyone including myself will no longer have a job. Hmmm, possibly the universe trying to tell me to finally go find that peace we both want? David, be strong, minimize and go after that life you desire. Abandon fear and don't worry about what you're leaving behind or what the world vigorously demands you need in life. You don't need 90% of it. Go find your peace and I truly hope it brings you back to authentic happiness 😊

David B. III yah, but I bet most of these people here don’t like our President, yet the Leftists DemonRats are the one letting your towns and cities burn. Ironic how that works, you elect a POS Governor, mayor, and they throw citizens under the bus for the sake of politics , and our President get criticized and all he wants to do is keep the American dream alive, so you can at some point go out and have that happy place in the Forrest, the Leftists let the Forrest burn and extinguish your dreams, then blame it on our President, shameful, I’m glad you understand

There's one thing I wish I could share with everyone who thinks that leaving the city and living in the wilderness will bring you happiness, because I did exactly that, and I still didn't find happiness. Matter of fact, nothing I've ever done brought me lasting contentment except for one thing: Jesus Christ. I used to think of Christians as a little misguided and narrow minded, but I began to seek God for who He really is, and He began to work in me. For many years, I sought God in buddhism, hinduism, new age...He showed me that they're all lies. The Bible actually warns us about the doctrines of man and the traditions of the world, warning us not to let ourselves be deceived by them. These are defined at the end of the verse as as any system that does not preach the gospel of Christ. That is, Christ crucified and resurrected for the forgiveness of sins.
I'm telling you guys, Jesus Christ is real, and He is Lord. The Bible says that at the name of Jesus every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess He is Lord (paraphrase). Don't let yourself declare Him to be Lord only when it is too late. Repent, for His kingdom is coming. The day of judgement is coming. He has NEVER turned someone away who came to repentance. Even I, who grew up in a Christian home but loved the world and went my own way; when I came to the cross in earnest, and repented and asked forgiveness, He accepted me, just as the father accepted the prodigal son.
The sufferings of the present moment are nothing compared to the glory that awaits those who are in Christ Jesus. But I reckon as well that the joys of the present moment are nothing compared to the eternal damnation that awaits those who will continue to harden their hearts against The Lord. There are only two kingdoms in this world: The kingdom of darkness, and The Kingdom of God. You are for one or the other, there is no middle ground. Jesus has already won the ultimate victory at calvary, but it's up to you to believe. The Bible says, to paraphrase: repent of your sins (turn from them, ask forgiveness), and believe in Jesus Christ, and you SHALL be saved. Hallelujah! All praise be to The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit, forever and ever!

@Lloyd Holiday - it’s a shame because it seems the only way you can live this sort of life is if you find some way to freelance or do UA-cam - which wouldn’t pay the bills without people over consuming technology. You tubers make money through ads and consumerism. No hate, but you can never really escape it because you either consume it or sell it to be free. Either way - not great.

You're not alone with those feelings.
I spent a month walking across northern Spain on the Camino de Santiago. For that month, all my belongings were contained in a backpack and my clothes' pockets. What you said about how not living with much makes you realize that happiness doesn't come from material items, but how happiness really comes from people, creating memories, and sharing emotions is absolutely true. I don't usually comment, but after hearing you say this, and because I lived it, I felt compelled to share.
My experience on the Camino showed me many things. It showed me that connection is what matters most, that everyone and everything is connected. It showed me how important communication is. I think most problems can be traced back to a breakdown in communication. For reasons of my own introversion, I started the Camino on my own.
But it wasn't long before the universe conspired and brought a group of us lone strangers together. It was a very dense month. We talked and walked together, ate and drank together, danced, sang, laughed, cried, brooded, gallivanted together. Every day was a chapter, an episode. Previous experience had taught me that exposing our vulnerability to the world would only result in hurt or damage. But on the contrary, here I found our vulnerability was instead rewarded with the forming of these beautiful unbreakable bonds. The Camino was showing me that I wasn't alone in my weirdness. That actually, I wasn't at all as weird as I thought. It was showing me that if we just give each other the chance, we find that we are so similar to each other.
When all you're doing is walking for 8-hours a day, your life becomes very simple. There's a freedom to that,
there's a freedom to simplicity. The Camino showed me that life can be so simple; that life is simple but that often we make it so complicated. I embarked on day 1 with a backpack full of stuff, every pocket had something in it. I was heavy. As days passed and the miles began to pile up, I began skeptically peeking inside my pack and questioning it. Like, what was the real value versus weight of these things. I hadn't yet even cracked open A Collection of Edgar Allen Poe's Short Stories and Poems, "Why carry this?" I thought to myself, "I'm living a story right now!" Too heavy so I donated it to the albergue I was staying the night at. This was the first domino to fall. The farther I walked, the less I carried. I was shedding weight. It turns out, when you actually get down to it, a lot of what you think is necessary, really isn't. By around halfway to Santiago, I had shed most of what I had started out with. I was light.
There were a lot of special moments and experiences and characters on the Camino that I will one day, when inspiration hits,
all get down on paper, but for the sake of this space and your time, for now, they'll remain in my brain. Suffice to say, the aggregate effect of these moments and experiences and people changed the way I was seeing the world, and the world I was seeing changed because of it. I felt light and I felt alive like I never had before. I'm not sure if I would call it an awakening or a glimpse into enlightenment, but I just felt like I was momentarily aligned with something divine. It was a feeling rather than a knowing. Things were suddenly falling into place. There was an effortless harmony to the moments. The world was starting to make sense. I was beginning to see how and why every moment led me to now, how it all fit together, how perfect it all is. I understood to trust in the way things are. I found meaning. And then I lost it.
You are right, you can't buy this feeling. Like you said, it only graces you when you live how you should be living.
Never in my life had I felt such inner peace and freedom, and alas, sadly, never since. I understand you when you said you felt like a zombie in your normal life, how working in city life seem to take all your inner energy out of you. For me, there was a honeymoon period when I first returned back to the US, where for a month or two I was still residually glowing from that immense light I had courted. But then slowly but surely, the friction of big city life began to grind those layers of light right back off of me, back down till it had all but left me with a few glittery specks here and there. But those glittery specks remain. And I'm extremely grateful for them. It's better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all. My awareness has increased, what is possible has increased. Hope is among the most powerful of things. What makes me feel free is what the Camino showed me. It showed me that, usually, the answer comes with not adding but with subtracting. It showed me to keep an open mind, that this world and the people in it are not all bad, there is good out there. And it showed me that meaning is something you perpetually strive for, otherwise, we wouldn't be human.
    Thanks for the inspiration.

One of the best times in my life was when my family had nothing. We lived out of my dads truck out in the woods. No jobs, no paychecks, no place to be. Just the three of us living off of nature. 40 years later, now comes the stress of a mortgage, car payments, putting kids thru school. Never take things for granted. Chose your own destiny in life. Never be lead around by the nose going in other peoples direction. Take your own path and have no regrets. The world is a beautiful place Isabel. Find your place.

Ugh. I just stumbled onto your page. I can't even make it through this video. I am in tears at how beautiful your life looks. I am so unhappy, and I know why; it is for all of the reasons you say. I can't seem to escape it. It is like you said in one of your later videos that I watched first--it feels like a circle. You do the things society tells you to do, thinking one day you'll be happy, but that day never comes, and the depression rolls in like a heavy fog. You're inspiring, and lovely, and your life looks beautiful. Thanks for sharing it. I lost my job at the beginning of April and it has me reevaluating some things. I was never happy there. I tried so hard to fit in, do more than my best, and get along with some of the people, but nothing was good enough, and my kind heartedness was never reciprocated. I was never encouraged. I could go on and on, but the fact is, I was just unhappy. I feel like going back to work in a similar capacity is my only option, but you almost have me believing there's a different path I'm allowed to take. I hope I find it soon. I think I will walk barefoot in the garden tomorrow, build the trellises that need built, then pack an overnight bag for the trail and just disappear for a couple days. Thanks for the inspiration.

One day when I was hiking on my own and thinking about life I came up with this:
    Life…
Life is about sadness, learning from it and how to cope with it.
Life is about joy and happiness, learning from it and share it.
Life is about emotions, learning from it and deal with it.
Life is about making mistakes, learning from it and move on with better knowledge.
Life is about making decisions, learning from it and becoming better at it.
Life is about caring for others, learning from it and being a better human being.
Life is about ups and downs, learning from it, adapt and overcome.
Life is about believing in yourself, learning from it and evolve.
Life is about taking a moment to contemplate your life, why you live, how you live and how you can improve it…
Enjoy your life while you can…, preferably with someone you love.
I agree with what you're saying and for most people it's very frightening to realize how they're living and change it for the better to find the real happiness.

I feel exactly the same way. When I am living in the city, I feel stuck. I keep coming up with ideas on what would make me happier, but I always come back to the same empty feeling. I’ve reflected on the times when I feel free and I realized, it’s the times when I’m in nature, away from my phone, away from all of my material items, away from people who consume, away from fast food and junk food, away from all that. I am the most happy hiking, exploring mountains, walking through creeks, I am the most happy when I feel like I don’t need to shave my legs or wash my hair, when outside influence isn’t an issue. I feel stuck in this world of consumption, but there is also freedom in knowing that I am stuck. There is freedom in knowing why. There is freedom in knowing that I have the capacity to step away from all that makes me feel stuck.

Are you kidding me, I have been living this way for the last 35 years I'm all about love, life, freedom, and the knowledge of being able to live with nature in nature and all natural resources and surroundings. I love me. I'm totally into believing in myself and have excepted the life I've been given . If one cannot find their inner self, they will live a life of dreams and be stressed out by the fact that until they let go of the worldly things in life and find a way to give back to themselves what life and love is meant to be they're never going to be truly happy. I live in the mountains and I will never go back to the life I lived before finding the true meaning of living.

I wanted to add that I admire your courage and honesty. I wish that I had been true to myself and my real feelings at a much younger age. I never really put my own interests first. It seems like people were always making decisions in relationships based on their needs and wants, not mine. It was always what they thought I should be doing or where they wanted to be, rather than me deciding or even mattering. This was with parental, significant other, and spousal relationships. Now I'm divorced and on my own. My health is very compromised and I feel like the last 30+ years of my life was spent in the service of others. Then when I was alone I was living a fear and survival based life, always doubting my ability to even stay alive. You have a good sense of self and are always inquiring and appreciating. It is never easy but don't ever forget who you are, which may always be evolving in many senses. Remember that you matter. (Except if you reach the speed of light squared...then you energy! Just had to throw that in. Don't know who's quote that is, after Einstein, but it's cute.) Thank you!

Your thoughts are the exact same as mine. Because of this, I've been living off-grid in the Alaskan bush for five years. My setup cost me around $200K and all I have is a 20X30 cabin. Most of the cost was my power generation system. However, I have all the comforts of a home in the city. You'd never guess I was off-grid. Everything I own is paid for and my monthly bills are about $200 a month {cell, internet, truck insurance). It has been a very difficult journey, but well worth it.

Everything you share through these story vlogs really bring up parts of me that I have either suppressed, or refuse to acknowledge even though I know it's there. I know I have more to learn and grow from in this life, but all we have is Now, the present moment. Thank you for sharing all of your thoughts and being so raw and real.

I am now 70 and these kinds of memories are the ones I remember. Growing up in the Puget Sound area helped a lot. It was much different 60 years ago. After being born in a refugee camp in Southern Germany, with the Knowing my homeland nolonger existed, the Puget Sound was paradise. I will follow your journey and maybe share a little of mine. I'm about to cry listening to this. I want nothing more than to move on from this busy town I'm in and just walk and look at moss. And collect mushrooms and forage. I'm so sad everyday and incredibly lonely. I try to fill my life with stuff like you were saying to try to make it better. I play a lot of farming type games to simulate what I really want. Unfortunately I couldn't afford to just move to the woods. My grandma has property in California that I'd love to live on but other family issues make that hard :( It gets so bad sometimes that I just don't even wanna be here anymore. I hate feeling like this. I randomly came across your videos yesterday and am backtracking and it's so wonderful to see how you've accomplished so much. It's hard not to feel jealous b/c that's not a good thing, but I love that you're happy. I'm 36 and feel so lost. I hope you can keep doing beautiful intentional things everyday

The universe or some higher power or whatever you want to believe in, brought your channel to me. My whole life I knew I belonged in nature, surrounded by nothing but nature. I remember as a kid I would close my eyes and picture myself in a deep valley. Looking all around, spinning, and seeing nothing but.. nature. No telephone polls, no streets, no skyscappers off in the distance. I always wanted that free feeling and that deep breath of true fresh air. I have felt trapped and suffocated in my suburban city my entire life. When I was younger I would adventure, create, design, without a care in the world. Growing up really does something to you. It crushes every hope and piece of freedom you’ve ever felt. I went to college, got a high paying job, and look where I’m at. Desperately searching for a new sense of happiness. I’m currently on my journey to bring back that feeling I once felt as a kid, aimlessly running through meadows of flowers with nothing but the sunshine. I just want to thank you for sharing your story because it has done more than motivated to find MY true calling and happiness in life. I’m not sure what that will be yet, but I’m on the path to find it.

You are SO lucky to have figured this out so young. I’m almost 40 and I’m completely stuck. I got lost in conventional thought process of life. I knew deep down that none of it was for me. That’s why I couldn’t finish school. I could never stay at a job. I never got married. I’ve been depressed and anxious increasingly so year by year. To the point where I am numb now. I have no idea what makes me tick. What makes me happy. What I crave. I have no passion. I have built up a wall so high, I have no clue how to even start chipping away at it.
You have created a beautiful life. Keep at it. You’ll have some curveballs but damn it if you don’t have the best outlook to handle it.

I am just in awe because I just found another person that thinks the same way as me. You are very beatiful soul. Thank you for all of your beatiful videos and messages. I am also following a spiritual life for about 5 years now. Today was the happiest day of my life. Recently I began learning how to love God and this gave me so much happiness, peace and made me whole and complete and fullfilled. Only when we learn how to love God/Source/The Universe then we will receive everything that our soul wants. First learn to love yourself and then love God with all your heart and build a strong relationship with him and then you will automatically love every person etc. God is Love and Love is God. We are Love since we have a soul. Life is so beatiful when you receive the Love from the Universe. Louise Hay will change your life with her affirmations. I began loving myself just by saying 1 affirmations every day. I just think that everything in the Universe is perfect because now I look from the perspective of God. It is so fullfilling to live a simple life :)

Wise beyond your years!!! I think as you get older (im55) you become uber conscious of your mortality and the path your clearing verses the wide open road it used to be. I'm on that journey, my kids are through college and starting their own adult lives. I'm single 55 and feel 35, I go where I want to go and see what needs to be seen! Fortunately I am somewhat financially stable and can afford to live this nomadic lifestyle. I can rely on what I have to get started and live comfortably on my monthly income that I have earned in my career as a regular "joe smoe". For the last 30 years I've been consumed by 56 hour work weeks, deadlines, keeping up with them jones's and parental responsibilities. I saw first hand in a city called Floyd, in Virginia and there where alot of 25-35 year olds living this modest lifestyle and I was excited. Some were starting families and others were living "free"! I've always had that hippie spirit in me and now i can keep on trucking. So I know there is so much to learn yet! So keep your chin up and be safe and I hope I run into a few of you on the road ahead.

I hear you sister. Loud and clear. And probably that is why I watch so many of your videos nowdays, because you speak to my heart so deeply it even makes me cry at times. I often feel stuck because I just can't and don't even want to fit in this messed up system with so much disease and suffering. But it also breaks my heart that so many of us live unaware of how used out and drained they are by this system. So I feel a deep desire to help and to make the change and that can put so much pressure on me because I don't yet know how to do that. But I try my best to make peace with myself because as a wise man said we ourselves have to be the change that we want to see in the world. So my focus in on creating internal love first that I can than radiate towards others. And I just want to thank you for sharing your experience. It gives me so much inspiration to see that it IS possible to create a life that we want to live. And it might come with a ton of sweat and tears but it's all going to be worth it. And I really hope that if we all stand together we really can turn things aroud.
So thank you again for your lovely energies

I cried so much when I listen to your message through this video because I want to change my life but I just I couldn't .... I couldn't. Every time I put an effort for a thing it turns to be a mess again in my life. Nothing works with me, literally nothing. I don't know how I could change my life, even I am trying so hard but the country that I am living in is the total mess of my life and now they are torturing us to give us the passport to leave. How about that struggle that we are living everyday besides that the expensive living that we can barely afford, plus there is no work at all. We are living in a death place and we are a dead people even when we are alive.

Yes I feel the same! But I try to everyday of my life, to do the work that I truly enjoy. After work, I am on a trail running or hiking. Weekends filled with surfing or snowboarding. I live a different life each season, as each season anticipating and finally experiencing a soft snowfall, hiking, snowshoeing, snowboarding. And I go as often as possible, sharing these experiences with friends. Then another season, brings me to backpacking, kayaking, surfing, mountain biking, all depending on the season. I enjoy spring, summer and fall as well, and experience each moment. Remember to enjoy each day, as it is a gift, that is why it is called the "present". Enjoy it! Where ever you are, enjoy it. Even if its taking a walk to enjoy a sunset. Or after a hike or surfing, make an amazing dinner at a campfire in the woods or on the beach. You are very awesome!

Often when you take some form of action, you’re presented with new ideas and you find new concepts that resonate with you. Then you can focus your energy on those things and if you do it in a sustainable, consistent way, the change you’re looking for will come

It is wonderful that you live in a country that is free and allows you to seek out whatever you define as happiness. That being said, everyone needs a productive purpose in life. Your existence simply cannot be experiencing nature, spending time with family friends, and sharing emotions. You look negatively at "consuming", yet you consume everyday and everywhere you go. Maybe less so, but you still do. You need to provide a service /product to others to be part of society. You can choose to only "work" part-time and maximize leisure time, but you still need to have that in your life. You need it to be whole. I hope you find your purpose and you love doing it. Best of luck in your search!

I feel most at home when I am out in nature. Walking by the river, or through the woods, is where I feel most free. I live on the west coast of British Columbia, about 2 1/2 hours from Seattle, and I feel so fortunate to live in this beautiful province. I've been laid off due to COVID-19, and I've actually really been enjoying getting out into nature more often. Nature is definitely my happy place, except for when people decide the rules about dirt bikes on the trail don't apply to them.

When we’re connected to nature is when we are closest to God the source of everything. It’s so true that we all have been enslaved to Debt in a broken financial system that only benefits a very few running the Central Banking System. There are many signs that the old financial system is coming to an end very soon and I’m hoping that this will usher in NESARA, the “National Economic Security And Reformation Act”. If this Law is activated we will all have what it takes financially to live the life that you describe in your video. Hey I love that you surf 🏄‍♀️ I’ve surfed for many decades and still love it every time I paddle out. Sending you Love and Light ✌️❤️🌞

When I was young and single, I lived my life in a minimalist way and I enjoyed it, but I often felt lonely. Then I got married and had children and my life focus shifted from me to them. I have been happy to work the 9 to 5 engineering life in a building by choice for the last 30 years to support my family. My children are all grown now and in 7 years I will retire at 70. I currently keep fit by hiking and lifting weights. I will likely return to the minimalist life since I don't tend to buy many things for myself and will have a smaller income to work with. I most look forward to taking longer backpacking trips and enjoying nature.

Looking at the big picture through Isabel's life then and now, I think knowing what you really want to do in your life in a deep sense like what she said here is the start and being intentionally living our life on a daily basis towards this goal is the path. I know it's easier said than done but this is just the living proof of that. Better to struggle to achieve this kind of life we always dream of having than staying stuck on our comfort zones with these excuses... Thanks Isa for lighting up the path coming home for all of us who are still kind of stuck and lost in the middle.💖

No wonder you have so many subscribers . You content and editing is great. This is the reason why I moved to Hawaii. It’s ironic that technology was created to connect us when it does the opposite. The debt is a challenge though, I will be debt free in 3 years. But tomorrow I will be in a beautiful bay, swimming in the ocean surrounded by mountains and coconut trees. That makes me happy. Simple things , walking in the woods/jungle , touching a waterfall, swimming in the ocean. I don’t think about family, I don’t think about debt, I don’t think about my job which I do not love anymore when I do those things. I go to sleep listening to the ocean and feeling the cool trade winds every night .

Growing up in a city I always thought that I would continue to live my life in the city; It gave me a sense of stability and independence. But then I went away to school and I was suddenly surrounded by forests and gorges and wanted nothing more than to frolic in nature, filled with the joy that I see you filled within the mountains. I sat in the forest one day, alone, and listened to everything around me. At first, I was nervous, hearing the acorns drop, twigs snap, animals around me calling out, but as I kept going I realized that the silence was what was jarring. I was so used to police sirens and bright lights that I never got a chance to sit alone and absorb, not consume, all that was around me in a natural way. I loved it and will continue to do it as much as I can.

You're on to something bigger than you know. I myself have not experienced any kind of joy and fulfillment like fulfilling my God given purpose which can change at different moments in time and things are only a season. You're not alone I'm going through the wilderness and a desert at this moment in time taking time to heal and I choose to believe the best is yet to come and I can relate to finances and most of the time I must do my part and he does more. I've been praying you find what makes you truly happy and brings you the most fulfillment joy and peace of mind. Keep making great content and doing everything you enjoy girl. Cheers.

I am learning to be happy no matter what circumstance or situation I am in, your video's make me feel young again and inspire me to go explore the river near my home and job. I get such a natural high when I go down to the river I still feel it when I get home. I used to go to a creek near my home while growing up all the time.

I agree with you and want to live in the world you imagine. We are born with all we need, air, water, land to build on and to create food from. Some believe they have a right to all that nature provides and the rest of us must work to have access to these things. If we come together the world can be as u imagine. We just need each other
