Ben's arrest was totally BOGUS. The TDFW officer who first contacted Ben should have checked to see if Ben was legally licensed to fish in Texas. Had he done that and found Ben was not licensed, ... He could/should have simply ticketed Ben, ... confiscated the Bass, and either released it back into the lake, or given it to the Lunker Share program, without having the replica made, and without entering it into the drawing for the other prizes offered in the program. Ben should not have been told to enter the Bass into that program in the first place. That smacks of entrapment, and should get tossed out of court, and his arrest record expunged.
