I just bought one today in Lidl here in Ireland and thought I'd done something wrong but it doesn't work and I also charged it for 3 hours so it's going back after Halloween, thanks for sharing you have saved me a lot of frustration 😂
A truly excellent product … if you take the time to learn how it works and use it properly. (I have copied my comment from another video about the same device). The manual is not very concise. We had five cats visiting our garden until I bought one of these, in fact I bought two extras as the garden is quite large. We use it on setting 3. It does not affect birds - in fact most appear to ignore it. During very sunny weather, ‘hot’ (UK) , the circuit that senses the battery temperature may cut the power off temporarily. If you put the unit in the fridge to cool down it will resume normal operation very soon afterwards. The unit works so well that if we ever do see a cat, it turns out to be because the battery is out of charge … due to dull weather and not having been topped up on the mains. The flashing white light illuminates briefly when you set the frequency to 4 or 5. This lets you know the thing is charged up. You can then move the switch back to a lower setting as required. You cannot replace the 18650 battery with a standard one as it is the type that has three wires. The third wire is for the battery temperature sensor. If you do not use this wire the lithium battery could well overheat if the sun charges it too much, causing permanent damage. Like most gadgets, this thing takes some time to get used to. After several months use it has proven to work extremely well. Highly recommended
Same here had 3. I did notice the manufacturing date is around 2 years ago, I’m guessing the batteries have been fully depleted and won’t hold their charge. The batteries do need regular charging as far as I’m aware 2 years is too long
In May I bought 8 of these. I had the same problem as the video in just one of them, which I left to open the box this month. I called the warranty last week and they sent me a new one yesterday. But it came with the same defect... If I didn't have the other 7 working I would think the problem was with me. Despite everything, I liked the product, it's a good one but it needs to work.
Thank you! I knew it was something to do with the design! Bloody things went dead as a dodo. In fact I'm sure that one was almost gone when I bought it. I never charged like the 2nd one.
The battery cover of mine could still be opened. The written capacity of 18650 is false. I measured the load, only 800mA. I have two devices, against cats, on the terrace. It does not work during the dark months. I charged the battery overnight. But it didn't work for a day. I just replaced it with a Panasonic protected industrial cell, it has been working for 5 days. I don't understand why it is necessary to sell an increasingly "tricky" trashed product. Why is it good and beneficial for some people to produce a junk product that can be sent there and back immediately under warranty, and then the store also takes it to the trash or to the collector. It can be produced for pennies, the margin is big, it can fit a few pieces of trash. Since I've been using it, there's been no cat pee, go home to pee and mark.
Just bought 2 of these and neither worked. I went back to Lidl and they would refund me or I could try another pair. I opted for the latter. I went to the display and opened about 5. None worked. I swapped my original ones for another 2 which I’m trying now but already appear not to work. No one to help at Lidl so you have to queue all over again. Anyway the lady on the till first asked if I’d removed to tag on the battery. I said they’re solar powered but she looked anyway - no luck. So she said they might need charging, so like the video says I told her it’s supposed to flash red when charging. No real solution but I thought I try and charge these random 2 then take them back tomorrow for a refund. Very disappointing and obviously poorly built.
I have a pair of those detectors but with a compartment for AA batteries and a solar panel. I've used them for a while but they don't seem to work. Outdoors the battery ends up running out despite the solar panel because they are activated with any movement. Indoors it does nothing to cats and birds.
Bought one two days ago in the UK and it didn't work, took it back and exchanged it today and that's dead too. Lidl are selling these here at a slightly discounted price but should really be removing them from their shelves - I wonder how many people have bought one and never returned it because they don't understand the instructions or probably thinking that they're 'getting it wrong', and simply placed it unknowingly in their garden and are to this day unaware that it's actually, as described in Monty Python, as a 'dead parrot' !!
I've bought one aswell today. And yep..nothing. dead..no lights ..tried charging. Nothing.waste of money and time going backwards and forwards to lidle.
I have exactly the same problem. I bought two of those online from Lidl and both are not working upon opening the sealed box and have a dead battery. They will not charge at all as the batteries are dead dead dead. I hope they will accept a return as I bought those months ago and kept them (switched OFF as they arrived) in their sealed boxes. I only opened the sealed boxes and tried them now. Both are duds and fail completely. 😡
J'en ai acheté 2 en mars qui ne fonctionnent pas et Lidl me revoie au fabricant. Il faut le signaler à la répression des fraudes car il s'agit bien d'une arnaque vu le nombre de plaignants.

Hi there, I have 4 of these not working... you are a life saver 😇thank you.

If it was working, would it be good against the mice or just against the moles?
Thank you! I knew it was something to do with the design! Bloody things went dead as a dodo. In fact I'm sure that one was almost gone when I bought it. I never charged like the 2nd one.
What’s the fix? Charge it or? Why is that not possible with the usb poort?
It won't charge, doesn't respond at all. Production failure.
Me too! Nothing doing even after a usb charge. It's going back.....
Same problem - took one back and second one doesn't work either so that'll go back as well!
Ale pecha miałeś dziś kupiłem i wszystko gra
J.en ai acheter 4 qui ne marche pas.
Just bought 3 today none working

Working Ultrasounds
Mine too, I thought I was doing something wrong
You have to return it to the store, at least you will get your money back.
Just bought this unit here in Lawrenceville, GA. DOESNOT WORK!

I bought 5, tried 3 of them and none worked. I guess it's not worth opening the rest of 2.
I bought one of these and it didn't work, so I took it back and exchanged it for another. Guess what, yes that didn't work either. Money back now.
Solution?
Change the battery.
@@AliWall will it be able to be solar charged?
@@AliWall will it charge after the replacement?
Parkside cat. Repellant won't charge can't replace battery waste of money bought two don't either work

Wow, I am surprised that it is not only me.
Charged mine for ~24 hours, then kept in the sun for a full day... still no signs of life. Just garbage.
If you can open and change the battery it will work, at least mine worked after changing the battery.
@@AliWall Thanks. I threw it out already...
If it was IQ test by LIDL, then they should have given these devices for free 😄

We bought 2pcs, not working.
I bought 5. None of them working😮
Isn't it disappointing?! Bad enough that you need them but for them to not work!

They seem to be having major production issues. But at least you can return them and get your money back.
Nee dat gaat bij mij niet , met korting stickers erop nemen ze niet retour.
I bought 2 with this Issue, returned them and bought another 2, the same failfure. Thanks for this vídeo, I won’t waste more time 😅.
It works about 7 month, kept it inside for the winter but now its not working anymore
🤣🤣parkside or rolls-royce, Solar Powered Animal Repeller don't work....
and they keep to sell them all over the world.
