I remember watching ghost dad for the first time a few years ago and this song came up right when Cosby and his family got into that car at the end of the movie. Man it fit so well! I love the very start of this song. So much power! Man old songs are the best! This song is now one of my favorites.
This song shouldve been released as a single at the time 'Ghost Dad' came out in theaters and wouldve topped the US Billobard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs in 1990 the same year 'Ghost Dad' came out in theaters
That song is so awesome! Thanks so very much posting this. It seemed amazing that Bill Cosby starred in the movie Ghost Dad, in which this song played in.
This comment is in response to the guy who said the original version is by 5Star. You just answered my question because I was wondering if this was a remake.
love the song and the movie was just watching it not 4 secs ago thats why i came looking for this song it i couldn't find it any where thnx 4 the upload
great song. have a lot of love for both versions. not a good movie, but not a bad movie either. would have made a better drama. saying that it's as bad as Leonard Part 6 seems unfair.
there are THREE official versions. Five Star, Gladys Knight and Tina Arena... There's also a Gregory Abbott version but it's debatable if he was licensed to make a cover or not
Gladys Knight is the better singer and 5 Star had the better produced record. This version sounds really dated compared to the 5 Star version released 3 years earlier.
Versions of this song by Gladys Knight, Gregory Abbott, and Five Star are nothing compared to TINA ARENA's version. I love Tina's rendition from her album with the same title of this song.
Ziga Sajtegel goodness no it isn’t!!! This is great... the real original by 5Star is outstandingly good. Tina Arena’s sounds a cheap imitation of the 5Star version
Ghost Dad sent me here!

This song is the real thing. I hear this song in my head everyday.

Well, it was already a #1 UK hit in 1987 or 1988 by the group called Five Star a few years before Ghost Dad.
@@Haywood-Jablomie yeah
@@MyJustin316 Who do you think should sing a Modern cover of this song?
@@Haywood-Jablomie a blue eyed soul singer

There should’ve been a Smokey Robinson song in “Ghost Dad.”

i think not 5 stars version is the best sorry
