I am a minimalist, clutter creates anxiety. The new Trend is traditional, heavy with decor. When it comes to your mirror, be you. Your home always looks comfortable and happy and reflects joy.
Her home is always beautiful, but I felt really overwelmed with the amount of stuff... When she showed more of the room I did not know where to look at 😵
I really enjoy the empty space above the fireplace. I think you should make your own art piece and put it up there.

I’ve heard from many interior designers the famous rule of 3 items is enough to make a space look beautiful ( not too many not so few) I guess that rule is not valid anymore? I love her style and all her spaces but with all my love I don’t see the mirror matches her style . Less is more

I’d say go with V’s rules for decorating with the mirror: Don’t be boring, add drama and do whatever makes you squeal with delight when you enter the room and say with a smile that I get to live here. Also don’t decorate for people that don’t live there, do it for you. Whatever you decide, it’s going to be amazing, awesome and stunning (just like it is with the mirror there)❤.
I recommend making a coffee table book, just from the House of Valentina spaces. I would buy that !!

Valentina does it, AGAIN! It's NOT only the way she decorates her home & shares her ideas, but the WAY she presents herself and her warmth & kindness. I know for a fact that everyone has been feeling a sense of disconnect & a level of, well, almost meanness, from most ppl lately. But Valentina NEVER disappoints us with unending energy & her true caring which comes across even in her videos. *I'm SO grateful for her.*
I hope she won't me letting you all know about a channel I found that does great "dupes" of some of these favorite items from Ikea, Crate & Barrel, CB2, etc, it's called, "Fia Garcia DIY". She finds near exact items at her local Thrift Stores & shows ppl how they can, too. With the economy hurting everyone, I thought this may help, and with her thrifting skills AND *Valentina's AWESOME design skills, we can put together our BEST HOMES EVER in 2023.*

Love the mirror! It really finishes the room and, in my opinion, it adds a little warmth and helps to balance out the predominately black and white palette. I also love that you are putting out more "things". You touched on this in your previous video regarding upcoming trends, i.e. maximalism. Curating your space with items that bring you joy is what makes a house a home. Really enjoyed the tour of your living room!

Couldn’t make up my mind because I loved when a big branch fell over all of the wall above the fireplace. But WOW the bronze on the mirror and the rich browns of the pillows just gives the room such DIMENSION! It’s stunning. I just ordered some graphic posters from Desenio - from viewing your videos I found that I could incorporate other styles into my decor. You also inspired me to completely refresh my decor ( bought a lot of vases and bowls you showed) and I LOVE it. Thank you.

I love seeing you pull back out all those personal treasures that tell a story. That’s what makes your space unique. I’ll be the odd person out and say that I don’t love the mirror. Everyone puts a mirror over their fireplace. And honestly it competes with the large RH cabinets (which are gorg btw). Love everything else you’ve done with the room!
I actually love mirrors over a mantel, but maybe the problem here is the scale is wrong. It's too big. Too tall. I don't think it is necessary to fill that huge space above the mantel. What do you think? Maybe a shorter, but simple square mirror?

Personally, I think a mirror above your fireplace is so well suited. And I think THAT mirror is stunning! Gee I love that colour of wood. I’m a big fan of wood and have lots in my home. Looks gorgeous in your palette, it almost gives me a blending effect with the other colours as they are contrasting - which I’ve always liked in your home - but I just love that pop of wooden colour in your home right there on display. ❤ Thanks so much for this video, I loved it.
I love it both this way and more minimal. Do what you feel like. When I had more for a while; I want less, and the other way around. We don't have to decide one way or the other. A home changes over time. Love this video. This is more what we have in our livingroom.

I love the mirror there, and I think it will look just as nice in the warmer months, it might help it feel cool, or does it reflect direct sun and will feel hot?
I’d be tempted to wrap foam core boards in a white linen fabric to place in front of the backs of your RH bookshelf cabinet. If you make them snug fitting, you could take them in and out without changing the cabinet. You have a lot of black items that would show up more.

I commiserate with you about having no linen closet and and a small coat closet. I have an antique linen press and highboy chest of drawers in my living room to hold my bathroom towels as well as table linens. I live with antiques and mid century beautifully made reproductions.
