Thank you Asa! You have inspired many people, me being one of them! I followed you everyday and enjoyed your trek. I know you wanted to keep on going but all those fires and the getting late in the season. You made the right choice! You can finish next year and I know you will! Take care my friend and thank you to all who helped out with your great hike! Have a nice day and hope to meet up with you one day soon!

FYI: I don't want to be a Debbie downer. Bu, the time / place where you plan on starting your 2025 PCT hike, is about the same time of the year when the temperatures start getting into the daytime 90's to low 100's. It is also a month into fire season too. I would go back and watch videos on how different hikers deal with these two issues. There are also two different areas where you have to hike over 15 - 20 miles, because of no camping in those areas.

I just found your UA-cam channel and I will check out all of your postings. I have done many hikes with a base camp / day hikes for the past 25 plus years. I am 68 now and my wife don't want me hiking by myself anymore. I have a few questions you maybe able to answer for me. #1. I am allergic to cigarette and pot smoke. Is there a big problem with cigarette or pot smoke at camp or walking the trails?
#2. Were there times, when you set up camp there other hikers didn't respect you after you went to sleep?
#3. Did you come across any hikers that had sleep apnea and needed a Cpap machine to sleep on trail?

Smoke is not a problem on the trail. I only saw two people smoke cigarettes, as for Pot not much of that I think most hikers eat gummies or step away from camp to smoke,
Every hiker respects all hikers, there were only a few times hikers carried on till dark but once the sun goes down it's pretty much bed time.
Stay in touch PCT 2025 starting at echo lake early July feel free to join us.

If you join the PCTA (Pacific Crest Trail Association) Facebook group, you can ask the question about the CPap machine. I’m sure you will get an answer if you post the question there.
