Apologies for the lack of videos and delaying the Survive one longer its my bad.
Im probably going to downscale the survive video to make it easier to get out so hopefully I can have it out in November!
Ive been getting way too distracted by Xenoblade 3 lately so I hopefully can put that down long enough to grind out Survive.
Maybe one day we'll get BeelStarmon in a game...
It is worth noting that back during that Digimon conn a few months ago, Bandai put out a poll on a few major social sites asking if fans wanted to see something involving the OG World trilogy, got an overwhelmingly positive response, and now have *multiple* Digimon game projects in the works, according to the overview trailer on the Next Order port.
This doesn't outright confirm anything, but it is lining up to some potentially exciting news in the future.
Im not surprised despite how important these games are, and nostalgic as well, it's really weird how theyve never done anything with them. I remember years ago waiting for them to put them on the psn like so many ps1 games and they never got put on there.
I have a strong feeling that after so long now could be the time we see these games come forward.
One game I want to mention is Digimon Championship for the DS. I grew up with the game myself and while it'd be difficult to port due to the dual screen requirements and need for stylus I just love it so much. The way they handled time management and unlocking digivolution was so cool to me.
honestly it could be a nice add on if they ever made a ds digimon game collection.
I do agree that making remakes of the Digimon Story from the DS games, including the Story Lost Evolution.
I enjoyed so much Digimon Story DS and loved the atmosphere, although I would love to forget Alphamon's role in that entry. Story Sunburst and Moonlight would benefit in improving the narrative, because Sunburst doesn't have the whole story unlike Moonlight, and I even would enjoy that they add new Digimon and new story for Sunburst and Moonlight, like adding a plot surrounding Grace Novamon or even making something with the Savers cast, because they are somehow connected (and also that would change the lore in those games, because a port in Digimon, like Re:Digitize Decode, do become the like the new base for the franchise in general).
Lost Evolution just needs a translation, but if they make an official remake it would be the best.
lost evolution actually got a translation earlier this year if youre interested!
@@BobbyHopp I know. But I referred to an official, like making a Remake of LE and giving it an official translation.
Honestly a remake of digimon world two with the same story and slightly tweeked boss teams and dungeon layouts, but with the evolution and more fluid battle mechanics from the current story games might be a really nice idea!
I agree, I think because its style is so similar to the recent games itd be a great remake and alot of the groundwork is already done in terms of models/animations.
@@BobbyHopp plus the final boss really has the same vibe as the ones from the recent story games
Ports/ Remasters of the older games in a collection of sorts would be ideal.
DW, DW2 and DW3 (with potentially Rumble Arena?) would make for a great "something for everybody" sort of nostalgic collection which would nicely be able to show everyone how far has Digimon as a franchise come. I have a feeling that if a collection or porting of older games was to happen, it would be these games.
I would definitely love for them to port/ remaster the portable games, but as Habu mentioned, because they have been made with 2 screens in mind, it might be tough to make work on current hardware. They deserve a remake in my opinion.
Re:Digitize and Decode have been the Holy Grail of Digimon games it seems, would be definitely nice to see them be brought over, but those will most likely stay Japan exclusives and in the hands of fan translators.
a ps1 digimon collection would be absolutely perfect, hell throw in the card game one as well and id argue dw1-3 + arena + cardgame with modern QoL could argue for 40-60 bucks despite being just ps1 games.
Given the next order port and fan outcry I have a feeling they could happen one day.
One game you didn't mention but one I would love to see get a remake/reboot onto modern consoles is Digital Card Battle which was a spinoff to Digimon World 1 but includes influences from the 02 Anime as well as reuses character models from DW1. It's a really fun card game where the monsters come to life from the cards and duke it out. Seeing as the new Digimon card game (although not really new) has really shot up to popularity, a video game that is about a Digimon Card game with fully animated fights would be awesome.
I'd love to also see a new Digimon fighting game. Whilst we do have a fanmade remake of Digimon Rumble Arena (which you should check out btw), I'd love to see Bandai return to this style of game, maybe even give it to a developer who understands Digimon lore and has had a good track record for making good fighting games.
I've never played the card battle game but I've heard some great things about it and would love to see that come to modern systems as well! especially rn since people seem to be really into card games.
@@BobbyHopp Absolutely. I'm fairly sure you can play Digital Card Battle on an Emulator as well. It's very fun and the gameplay is addictive.
In fact, in Digimon World 3/2003 the card mini-game you play has many of the cards that were featured in Digital Card Battle (the digimon in the artwork are based on different locations in File Island if you look at them all, save for those that came out post-Tamers).
I love playing older games on newer consoles, so much so that collections might be my second favourite game genre, lmao. Digimon has way too much stuff that can work fantastic with some QoL emulator features, like speed-up (just like you said). Just imagine a huge collection including World 1-3 and all of the DS games. I'd spend hours in a sped up post game, and I much rather play it on console rather than emulate it, personally.
It's probably because I spent alot of my teen years playing titles for cheap on stuff like psn but I also have a strong soft spot for ports/remakes/collections.
But yeah despite their flaws some QoL would really clean up and make these games shine.
I've emulated quite a bit in my life but like you say playing a game on a system just hits different at least for me.
Your new mic sounds great!
thank you! I still think I need to adjust some things and where I position it but it's nice to hear positive feedback!
@@BobbyHopp for sure! Glad you’re finding success with it already, and hope the tuning process isn’t too rough!
Tbh I'm just not excited about Digimon Next Order. Auto battle isn't for me unfortunately. But I do hope that the game sells well just so that we have more new Digimon content in the future.
That's understandable, its style isnt for everyone so dont feel bad. but hopefully its sales will contribute to future games like you said!
Digimon games I want :
Digimon Pendulum 3DS- play like Digimon DS , include all Digimon from the games
Digimon Digivice 3DS - play as child and Digimon from Adventure/reboot/02/Tamers/Frontier/Xros Wars
Vital Bracelet 3DS - all Digimon cards
Digimon Adventure PSP 3DS
New order for PC? Great news!
Yeah it is! I'm excited I can pressure my pc friends to play it now! Also the mod potential will be amazing.
I just want the Rumble Arena games and for them to have online play those games seem to be the easiest games to port/remake out of the bunch. I have heard its way more difficult to port ds games to new consoles but there is a fan remake of dusk in the works so theres that.
Yeah, DS and 3DS porting isnt very graceful and has a whole host of complications sadly. It's why I wonder if that if they ever do bring back old Story games they just bite the bullet and remake instead of figuring out the logistics of a port/remaster.
I should definitely check out the fan remake though I love how passionate digimon fans are with fan projects.
I think there are 3 current rumble titles so a little collection pack could be cute for those as well!
Good video
Thank you!
Eeehhh... Nah, if they would remake older story games I'd prefer them to make them more "free" in digivolution lines just like CS, because it felt really suffocating with that little options they had when I played them, and I literally played all of them, even including Lost Evolution. Especially frustrating in them was to see literal dead end evo-lines that just end on adult level digimon
I dont mind the more constrained paths myself (although I do agree the dead ends are bad). But I can definitely see how coming from CS/HM how it could feel worse in terms of teambuilding and evolution.
@@BobbyHopp weeeell, if they gonna remake it with some special features from CS like 11 digimon party, typing system(original type system kinda didnt do anything and sucked, so it won't be a loss) and with that experience, typed experience sucked, and ability to de-evolve at any moment(but that probably should be balanced, like you will need to do evolution only in your base, just like with digilab) it would probably be mostly fine. And that way it kinda can be easier in some way, because for example Sunburst/Moonlight have even bigger digimon collection than CS/HM, and now imagine that, but plus everyone from SC/HM
And like, nobody forces anybody to evolve anything in "not canonical way", its just feels fresh to have so much freedom with evo-paths, for me at least, especially after all of the first story game, SB/ML and lost evolution. Like, in CS I evolved my darkdramon from gazimon and thats awesome
I have never met someone who played DW2 on the PS2 as the manual recommended but me and I didn't experience long loads on the PS2. =\
Digimon story lost Evo just got a eng patch
bless you youtube commenter I hope you have a good day/night.
