My Featherbed

- My version of 'My Featherbed'. I Have been singing this for a while now but have always put off recording it due to all the other amazing versions that are up! Anyway I realised that Westeros is a big place with plenty of space for plenty of musicians. Here's my take on it, I hope you enjoy. And if it's not for you, keep on to the next tavern and I'm sure you'll hear a different interpretation.
My featherbed is deep and soft,
and there I'll lay you down,
I'll dress you all in yellow silk,
and on your head a crown.
For you shall be my lady love,
and I shall be your lord.
I'll always keep you warm and safe,
and guard you with my sword.
And how she smiled and how she laughed,
the maiden of the tree.
She spun away and said to him,
no featherbed for me.
I'll wear a gown of golden leaves,
and bind my hair with grass,
But you can be my forest love,
and me your forest lass
I love this version. It's the only one that seems even remotely accurate to me. All the others have instrumentals that I just couldn't imagine ever taking place in the ASOIAF universe, and they're all so sad sounding.
This is so cheerful and it makes me smile.
A song I could even imagine being sung in the Shire.
Lady Smallwood, Thoros, Anguy, and Tom o' Sevens living vicariously through Gendry and Arya have become some of my favorite chapters.
This guy is seriously underated, would love to see more songs like this, fun fact, I usually sing his versions of songs for my 1y/o daughter to sleep
That’s so sweet!!
She's nearly 3, and I still do.
That’s really nice to hear! Thanks for sharing-I hope she grows up singing them!
This sounds so wholesome and soothing.
This is definitely the best version of the song by far. It gives a sense of love and joy that reminds me of childhood sweethearts and lullabies. Great work and I hope I can hear more from you :)
Inargurably, the best version. I love it the first time I listen.
I’ve been listening to this on loop for almost 2 years now. You are the best bard in not just the aSoIaF community but fantasy in general.
I understand if you’re too busy to make more music or aren’t interested, but I still wait with baited breath for the next, whatever or whenever it is.
- a loyal fan since 2012
I love your interpretation, it's very sweet and not overly dramatic
The best version of this song,i can imagine Tom sing this when Gendry and Arya are figthing 😂😂🤭 (is no oficial song for this ship 😂),i love your job🥰
keep coming back to this, utterly enchanting
Wonderful interpretation. Sweet and cheerful, this is not a sad song and you nailed it.
This is a great song! I love your take on it and it fits so well the words of the song
The man wants to take the woman and put her in a comfortable environment which he will protect.
But the woman turns out to be a treewoman and she laughs at him, for thinking that way, but doesn't break his kind intentions, but tells her that she will be wedded the way she wants to be wedded, and that he can join her in her way of life.
That plot twist is captured so well in your pacing and your structure of the song.
Love this song--nostalgic, and warm. Reminds me of the scene with Arya and Gendry but it also makes me think of how Lyanna must've been like before she died. 😭
Wow, I can imagine Tom singing this! It sounds so lovely 💕
Right now I suffer from a Depressive Episode, but this song is the one thing lifting my spirits a bit
It is just so beautiful, and it reminds me of my dnd Bard OC, she definitly would sing it. c:
Thank you for your beautiful songs!
I love your interpretations! Keep it up!
