On my Midway Legacy and my MK 2 player countercade, if you unlock the characters via the Ultimate Kombat Kode (lose a single player match and then input the code for each), the A1UP will keep the characters unlocked if you reset or turn off the game. If you reset the high scores via the A1UP options menu, it will remove them, however. You can also unlock them via the EJB menu and use the EJB menu to set a high score and put your initials and it will save them that way also.
@@BushyStallion Interesting! Yeah I noticed on your 30th they where then when you started UMK3 again. Might get a 30th to replace my Legacy (I want vanilla MK3 and wifi) so that is good to know.
@@jvrlopez I liked the single player way more on “vanilla” MK3, the AI is better balanced and there’s more variety to the endings having original artwork as well as the art on the intro stories. UMK3 seemed like more of a cash grab then anything with the ninja and female characters basically all using colour swaps to expand the roster.
Can you confirm if it works on all revisions of UMK3? This is neat if it does cause the only way I knew of was to use the ultimate Kombat codes when you don't kontinue if u die 😅

You have to do the inputs at a fast consistent pace and only during the attract mode, for instance watch the demos start and then try the inputs. You’ll get it 👊🏼

It’s been awhile since I’ve beaten MK in one credit, however jump kicking is your best friend in that one. I’ll see what I can do lol 👊🏼
If only I could find a machine to try out the EJB menu on, can you enable free play ftom that menu? Like in a dip switch menu?

On the legacy cab it’ll save the high scores but it doesn’t save my unlocked characters. On my 30th Cab it does however.

I don't know if you've done this, but could you show us a easy way to beat shao khan? I was stuck on him for like 20 minutes and he kicks my butt!
He’s a tough one in UMK3 that’s for sure, I could always show the method that works for me absolutely 👊🏼
