Why apply more lingual force for mandibular?

For mandibular posterior teeth, more lingual force is applied because bone is that area is thinner as compared to buccal bone. Thin bones expand easily. Therefore, more force is placed in the regions of thin bone that facilitates extraction as thicker bone are difficult to expand. I hope that answers your question :)

Thinner bones has more chances of fracture. In this case, chances of damage to lingual nerve is more. Excessive forces can fracture any bone whether its buccal or lingual.
