    Wow, you cleaned up out there. Truth is, you can run a Garrett fairly well out on the beach without issue. In the water can be a different story though. I generally run my Excal but even that can miss items so you have to know your machine like you said.
    What would be nice in your videos, is to actually see what you are scanning with your detector and then digging it up. Whether on land or beach, it is nice to see the element of surprise when hunting. My favorite is water detecting and seeing the item in the scoop for the first time. So only seeing the end result of your find kinda defeats the purpose for the "thrill of the hunt" and how it reads/reacts on your detector prior to digging. Otherwise you might as well just show your wrap up at the end. Just my 2 cents though, I really love those finds...Great job!

    My girlfriend and I had a great day of finding bottles near Toledo, the river was super low at that point. It had rained since that trip and we didn't find as much today. Thank you for sharing your hunt with us! Great video, great finds!

      Many turtles nests on the island. The red light is bright enough that its almost as good as the white light.

    I just broke out my Garrett ATmax from storage. She's like new and I'm starting starting up the hobby I should have started already. If you ever get down to Northeast Florida let me know. I hope your 2023 is a successful season.

    I'm wondering, what case do you use for the AT Max when you travel?

    • @ohiosearcher8086
      @ohiosearcher8086  Рік тому +1

      I usually set it on top of all the suitcases in the back of the van. Although there are more modern multi-frequency machines out there, the AT Max is a tank and always works. Thanks for watching, and the comment!

    HI Guy, I’M NICO FROM ITALY, I WANTED TO ASK WHAT IS THE BEST CONFIGURATION FOR THE AT-MAX IN SEA WATER? THANKS SO MUCH.

    • @ohiosearcher8086
      @ohiosearcher8086  Рік тому

      The AT Max is not specifically designed for salt water and is not idea. Multi-frequency detectors are better. You can use the AT Max in salt water by turning the iron discrimination up all the way, turning the sensitivity down a few bars, and ground balancing frequently. With the iron discrimination turned up, you may miss small items like gold earrings. Salt water can be challenging for any detector. In the dry and semi-wet sand you should do very well. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching, and the comment!

    THE AT MAX WILL NOT WORK IN SALT WATER ............

    • @ohiosearcher8086
      @ohiosearcher8086  2 роки тому +2

      I have found rings in salt water with it. Like I said in the video it's not ideal or specifically made for salt water beaches, a multi frequency machine is what's needed for that. But if you live in ohio and are only at the beach a few times a year, it's just fine. I have found much gold with it. Thanks for watching.

    What r ur setting at the beach?

    • @ohiosearcher8086
      @ohiosearcher8086  11 місяців тому +1

      I run on zero mode with iron discrimination at 43. I adjust sensitivity as needed, usually at the highest setting in the dry. The AT Max ground balances between 9 and 13 on the beaches I detect on. I ground balance frequently, every time I move from the dry, to the wet, to in the water. It's worth mentioning that the AT Max is not specifically designed for salt water beaches where mineralization is high, but it can work. I have found plenty of gold and silver. Usually a multi-frequency machine like a minelab Equinox 800 is better suited for the task. The Garrett machine is good for me as I live in Ohio where I detect farm fields and parks. Thanks for watching, and the comment!

    The AT Max salt water settings are listed at about the 2:35 mark. ua-cam.com/video/dISPxJPpEFg/v-deo.html
