    In this video I explain the mountain climbers exercise for beginners. I know this exercise can be tough if you're new to bodyweight fitness, so I teach it using progression. We start off with a straight-arm plank and work our way through several progressions until your'e doing legit mountain climbers.
    In my opinion, mountain climbers are one of the best calisthenics cardio exercises and I put them right up there with burpees. In fact, I show in this video how you can combine mountain climbers with burpees, high knees and other cardio calisthenics to make them more fun and effective.
    If you're wondering how to do mountain climbers the right way, look no further than this video. I hope you find it helpful. And if you do, don't forget to like, share and subscribe! :)

    The best part of this exercise is that, unlike jumping rope, it does not bother my downstairs neighbors.

    One of my workout routines includes Mountain Climbers and this progression is actually what I started doing instinctively, because I couldn't do them so fast in the beginning. I start with smaller and slower movement and doing plank lots of times, then eventually by the end of the workout my body starts getting used to it and by the last repetitions I am able to do the movement faster :) Cool video, thanks.

    Thank you so much, for this video. I've been wanting to incorporate a bit of high intensity cardio, at the end of my workouts, especially if it involves further core work. It's such a simple idea, it comes off as genius; that, for some reason, just never occurred to me. I love your content..very informative!

    Hey, thank you for this. I've got a weak lower back that's in fairly good condition due to daily stretches and inner core exercises given to me by physical therapists, but I'm always looking to improve and add to my move set. So, starting today, I've added this in, working with Step 1.

      Sriram Madhavan gosh, that's a tough request! The best back exercises all use bars. I suppose I could put something together using bridging and maybe getting creative with a towel... but it'll be inferior to using a pull up bar. I'll see what I can do!

    Hey Ryan, I'm currently following your workout for begginers in calisthenics and I was wondering if it's okay to do mountain climbers for cardio in the rest days. So I would workout Monday, Wednesday and Friday and do mountain climbers Tuesday and Thursday (maybe weekend too?) Can't add them to the workout because I am exhausted when I'm done and I would just die xD

    • @MinusTheGym
      @MinusTheGym  3 роки тому +4

      Hesho yeah, you can definitely use mountain climbers for cardio on the active rest days if your goal is weight loss. Just don't overdo it. I'd start with only 2 days, like the Tue/Thu schedule you suggested, and leave the weekends for more rest. You can always add them to the weekends later if you feel up to it but it's important you don't burn yourself out.
