Oh how i wish they made quality movies llike this today.The acting is real ,the storyline believable ,and they just bring back memories of a better time.Thankyou for sharing.:)
Love everything about 80s films! The music, stars, and the ways these films just bring back nostalgic memories of a time growing up in this decade.

This movie brings me back to memories of my father. He had a gambling addiction. Thankfully, he recovered from it. I remember him taking me to the horse races. I had a way of picking the winners. He called me his “lucky charm” but winning streaks don’t last forever. I have an addictive personality myself, so I have to really stick to my rules when I go gambling (which is a very rare thing these days) but it is so addictive! Always ALWAYS quit while you’re ahead and never gamble everything. If you win, keep most of it then only gamble a little if you must but stick to your own rules or stay out of the casinos, the horse races, the football games, etc. I watch this movie and think of how easily it could’ve been me. Stellar performance by Valerie Bertinelli! Excellent film. Thank you for sharing it here.

She was so believable and so sweet. I thought she was a good tv actress as well.
Valerie Bertinelli played her role with maturity showing her place as a role model for young women. I wish I had seen this earlier I may have been more wiser or empathetic. Congrats to the writers.

Valerie is such a great actress. I've seen her in many films. She's not only very pretty but also very cute. A lucky combination to have.

My early '80s crush Valerie Bertinelli was very good in this dramatic role. Her acting skills are typically overlooked because of her great looks and gorgeous hair but she's genuine in all of her roles that I've seen so far.
Very good tv movie and ahead of its time as far as bringing awareness to gambling addiction. Valerie was so beautiful and terrific in this movie. Very well done!

I lived in Vegas for 10 years and didn’t gamble….I just couldn’t give my hard earned money to those multimillion dollar casinos….just couldn’t do it!
I used to go to casinos with my ex,all the time, and never gambled..he asked me for $5 and gave it back right away...I would just sit there ,at the bar, enjoy my drink, chit-chat with people, smoke my cigar and just chill..I dont like to gamble ,but I sure do enjoy the atmosphere, for some reason..as an empath ,a highly sensitive individual and an introvert by nature ,that's a very surprising fact about me..from time to time, I like to be an extrovert and just let loose, so to speak. 😏

Mom and I used to go to Niagara every few weeks. We had a limit of 2 hundred but we usually always went over. Most of the time I lost but I do remember being on a machine that was broken. Every time I pushed the button I had the coins coming out. I just kept playing and had someone help me carry the containers of coins up. I was lucky that nite but hardly made up for the times I lost.
You should see the people blowing all their money now in the native run casinos here in Saskatchewan Canada 🇨🇦

I spent a week at Lake Tahoe for my birthday. I brought fifty dollars with me to gamble with and won a pot full of change with my first quarter. I kept winning and then losing, and winning some more, and then losing again that same fifty dollars. At the end of the week I went home with the original pot of change. I observed many gamblers who didn't even seem to enjoy themselves, throwing what I found out were stacks of one hundred or five hundred dollar chips around and losing them without a flicker of emotion. I also saw people freaking out and crying after losing. And others who looked really messed up and nervous. The weirdest were the older people at the machines that gave out pots of change, just pulling the leavers over and over again. Not my kind of thing at all.

I love Valerie Bertinelli she is such a great actress. She's so stunningly beautiful and has great legs. I didn't even know this movie existed, it's my first time seeing it. I always enjoyed watching Valerie on "One Day At A Time" when she played as Barbera Royer. She was such a load of laughs and was so entertaining.

Gambling and all other tough-drug or alcohol addictions originate from a sad or immature perception of ourselves. Either we pity ourselves or we lead a life showing others we are indestructible. To learn about true Self-respect is what I suggest.

The movie was ended with a hope for the better future...Gina has been the victim of greediness, but did look backward for whatever mistakes she had committed... that's the strength she had👍

It's not a easy task to see Valerie Bertinelli play a unlikable character, she still comes across as a victim we want to see improve. She steals, cheats on her boyfriend, gets herself in debt and I still am supporting her.
Why do you support her? What has a person have to do, lie, cheat, sleep with someone for money (too bad the casino guy was not willing to pay for her gambling debts), before one should say: enough is enough

OMG, this is just horrifying to watch. It’s a well done movie, but stressful to see such an awful addiction.
A very good movie about the perils of gambling: You never win, and it would cost you everything, not just money but also your relationships, your dignity and your mental health.

The only gambling I've done was bet 5dollars playing one armed bandit...won 5dollars then quickly left the casino....that's it. 🤣😂 I like myself better as a good luck charm for a gambler friend. I seem to bring him luck and that's fine with me. Valerie is a fine actress, love all her movies.❤️❤️❤️

Gina's husband loved her but she wanted the good life, NOW! He even told her that. She tried to make it her husband's fault, "You're never around, I'm just a housewife. You and your friends know what you want."
She's a manipulator, giving no thought to the consequences of her gambling.

I've known some people who had gambling addictions ; very sad people ...I dated one, hes lost everything during his marriage and was forced to loan money from his wife's dad, who's a complete tyrant with money! Now, the guy owes the dad everything, including his freedom and dignity. From his own words " I sold the soul to the devil" 😩

Went to the Bahamas with my late ex, in the late 80s. It's all he did was gamble while I was left to find other things to do. I don't even like the scratch it rich. Most I've won ever is 20 dollars. I hate gambling. It's one of the most addictive things to get into.
The thing with Casinos, like this Keith dude, he doesn't gamble bc he knows the risks. BUT, he doesn't haven't a problem with other players who lose their money. It's a racket that is very easy to get sucked up in, and maybe end up dead.

Throughout this whole movie I kept wondering is why doesn’t she get a job like everyone else?? So what if she’s married, she can still be a strong independent woman. Don’t feel bad for her at all. The lesson here is that you are responsible for your joy and happiness🤦🏽♀️

This movie is an example for the casino lover- beginners. ..Once I had a friend.She had everything,beauty, intelligence,high university education , good parents , great loving husband and a family. He was a rich and bought a lot of houses and apartments making investments for the children too. .. One day they moved to another big city buying huge apartment in the prestigious place....near the casino .. Suddenly she begun to be addicted running to the casino near home . But she was keeping this sectet with herself. Then our another friend and I understood What was going on with her troubling family ... One day her husband ( he was our childhood friend too ) was planning a dinner at home for his friends ftom another city. He asked their driver to take her to the food store. She refused from the driver saying she is able to manage it by herself and will be back soon...We were looking for her within three days ...She lost all properties there..in the casino ....All...He didn't forget her . She lost a husband,sons, respect in the city society..Since that noone wished to deal with her ..Then anyway we did everything to reunite them again as a family. He forgave her but something deeply inside troubled her . She dreamed more and more money. She didn't play anymore in the casino because no one was giving her money . Her husband has not so much money anymore . Suddenly she decided to move to another country getting a trip...Since that she has never ever came back to home..And we were told she is working in someone's family to earn money ...Her husband suddenly just recently died...My another friend told me that talking her by phone she whipped as a crazy person...She had everything but Brains........

It seems that she had lost everything when she didn't want to LISTEN to her HUSBAND. She wanted to put EVERYTHING DOWN on an Apartment before he was established, she wanted to have a baby before he was established, her father said, she has never been responsible with money, ( the PARENTS DIDN'T TEACH HER a out MONEY or MEN/PEOPLE. She made a BAD GAMBLE when she LEFT HOME IGNORANT, LEFT SCHOOL IGNORANT, GOT MARRIED IGNORANT to a man who DIDN'T TAKE HER SERIOUS). ~~ The daddy said, " UR 21, I'm done" ( and then called her husband like she was still A CHILD, [ which she was]. Its 3 1/2 hour trip to Tahoe from SF but she gets there in 10 minutes!! She just kills me how she doesn't even try to honor her marriage vows and prisses around like she's all that.

I've only gone to 2 cadinos, once my husband and i stopped by one and played the nickel slots, and the 2nd time i went with my mother. My mother gave me money to play slots, but i never won much. I do like that i got to go, though, because my mom loved to gamble, and i miss her so much.
