@@HereBeBarrnah actually what happened was, I got dropped off the bus near the basketball court, my moms house is a short walk over, chris rock just lives a few hoises down and so I saw some big buff guys playing some basketball at like midday, since im a good basketball player and we bet 20$ for a won game, they felt hustled and beat me up, so on my way to moms hoise she said Will! What happened to you! You look like nearby road kill before the basketball court! I said, actually momma, its funny you said that, she said dont talk atm, you just head right up stairs and bsg up some clothes, I knew this area was unsafe for kids at your age! Luckily i still have the number for your uncle Phil! So she said Phil my poor boy Will got rough housed, is there any way you can arrange a way to come over to live at your place in Bel Air? He said Oh sure, a few years later though, he had quite a while to become “fresh” like me especially his spiffy wine house for a boy Carlton lol
@@cherrelle40 Great question! Short answer, yes. I like Penn’s Landing and the various family amenities in n around there. The river views during the day n night are fantastic! Plus we liked the indoor pool at the Hilton. We toured Old City and walked to Reading Terminal Market. I’ve never stayed at Loews so I can’t honestly give an honest review of the hotel itself. However, it is a stones throw away from Reading Terminal Market.
Excellent video. Nice to see you in Philly & having a good time. The city gets a bad rap a lot, but it really does have a lot of goodness to it and good people. That turkey sandwich looked AMAZING. One thing I love about you is that you don't feel like you have to take delicate bites because you are on camera. You really GO FOR IT and I love that !! From a former Staten Islander who ended up here somehow. I'm kinda between Philly & Allentown.
Philly is such an underappreciated city...not really a touristy town, at least not international tourism. Great video, focusing on the off the beaten path things to do.
Another practical excellent simple travel guide from Jon. Nailed it as usual. It’s a place I want to visit. I have just watched Jon’s other Philadelphia travel guide and that is worth watching to. It really is very close to New York by train.
I was in Philly in 2012 and I was very pleasantly surprised by this great city. What I missed in your video was the Reading Terminal Market. A huge selection of food and products from local farmers and producers. But you also showed great other things in the video and I hope to travel to Philly again in the near future.
at the end of this video he lists another Philly video where he goes to Reading Terminal. So don't think he's forgotten it! But I would also include it in my 24 hours in Philly. Maybe go there instead of the roller rink which is closing soon.
I know both cities well (born Manhattan, lived much life near Philly in Central Jersey, and college in Philly). Roller rink a waste of time, cannot compare to Ince skating in Bryant park. Reading Market a gem, much better than the commercialized Chelsea Market. Flower show best in the world although due to Covid outdoors now but the indoors version at the convention center is very good (and near the Reading Market...). Need a stop in South Philly for a Cheesesteak. Segways are legal and the tours are GREAT. Philadelphia Art Museum is NYC caliber with beautiful grounds and parking. In fact, Philly has a very good public parking garage system so all areas can be driven to since it is smaller than NYC and not an island. Hoagies in Philly need coverage as the food scene which you covered a little. In fact, I would state that the food is better in Philly than NYC. Liberty Bell needs coverage, but this at least a couple hours in the National park area.
back in early 90s, my family had a long layover in Philly. So we hopped the train and ended up in the middle of an outdoor market, eating fresh shucked oysters & clams, other street food, as we walked the city. I remember seeing whole cows being carved into steaks, live chicken & ducks in cages. The smell of fresh baked goods in the air on a drizzly autumn afternoon. That was my only time in Philadelphia. Such east coast vibes
Nice! Haven’t been to Philly since 99 so maybe time to visit. Lots of relatives there and memories… Laser Wolf very interesting- might checkout Brooklyn one. Also watched your older vid linked. Definitely props for art museum and if like classic modern art definitely one of the best! Think what I’m missing is South street and for museums Rodin and science museum really worth visiting. Also still have memories of best night clubs / don’t remember names but remember one that had 2 indoor bars, one outdoor bar and beach volleyball court!
Going Philly for first time in January while in NYC. A day trip leave 6am. Surprised you not go to the ‘Rocky steps’ that’s where all tourists certainly go while in Philly.
Philly definitely gets overlooked due to being a hop, skip and a jump from NYC. The city should be on more tourist's radar. One Liberty Deck was Philadelphia's highest observation deck (@900 feet). Unfortunately, the pandemic caused it to permanently close. The highest current observation deck in Philly is city hall @ 550 feet. The good news is that the admission price is only $19.00 for adults and $14.00 for childern under 12, so it is a very affordable attraction.
Thanks enjoyed seeing some nice things Philadelphia has to offer like always you eat darn good n you are a brave man to just get on roller skates. No way for me man. Take care be well Bill in Fort Wayne Indiana
Awesome video. Bummer, you were staying right across the Street from me. Hit me up next time you come to Philly I can share our hidden parks and areas we Philly ppl love.
Good Friday Afternoon My Friend When You Go Skating Always Have A Trainer With You I Personally Will Train You How To Skate You Did A Phenomenal Job In Philadelphia Much Love Always Ms British Gray From Tampa Florida Blessings :)
Hi! I really like your videos. Did you know that Philly is 42.2% Black? While I loved seeing the spots you highlighted, and great spotlight on the Mexican restaurant; but would you mind showcasing a Black-owned business next time you are in the city?
I live in phily. Just came to see how you did. The one thing id say is go to spruce street harbor park at night. Theres alo roller skating at ice skating there. you could definitely spend a whole day at that park. Also, if you want to get out of center city, Id reccomend walking up passyunk ave from broad and snyder. Go past pats and genos and walk up 9th street. turn right on south street and then turn left at second street and walk around old city. This is a long walk, but its definitely the best way to get the most out of the city.
I’m a Philly native & foodie! I’d loved to give you locations and spots to go to! Philly is a great diverse place to eat. Each neighborhood has some much to bring to the table
0:51 Awwww I'm so proud to see an Israeli eatery flourishing & getting recommended and regardless Philly ended up as my favourite city when I visited America back then and now knowing that a lil piece of my country has a stronghold in the US's awesomest city I'm more sure than ever to visit again! ❤❤❤ Woody's I'm coming! 🏳️🌈
The rollerskating looks scary! I remember trying to rollerblade around my city three years ago and ended up flipping over on my back. Luckily I was wearing a backpack to catch my fall, but after that experience, I was like, nope not for me. Had to get a bike. Much easier to keep my balance.
I like Philadelphia for what it is. Nowhere near the hustle and bustle level of Chicago or NYC, but pretty affordable and pretty digestible for people who don’t go to cities often. Not for me though, just doesn’t have the same energy as other major cities
Philly is ghetto lol. It’s not the most tourist place to be, although they are trying their best to turn into it over the years, especially making it look like New York….But I hope you enjoyed it though!

Philly is so much fun! I've stayed at the HIlton - great experience. The food, the history, art...there's so much to do. Nice job this one!
Would you reccomend the hilton canopy over Loews Philadelphia downtown?

Philly is such an underappreciated city...not really a touristy town, at least not international tourism. Great video, focusing on the off the beaten path things to do.
Totally agree!

Going Philly for first time in January while in NYC.

Bassetts Ice Cream Reading Market Philly really good
I live real close to harbor park it’s fun there
Happy Early Birthday, Adrianna! I would think skating on a giant chessboard would be so visually confusing it would thoroughly mess with my balance!
Yeah.. I’ll use that excuse 😙😙
I wish this came out last week while I was there :(
I need to come to Philly again it’s been soooo long😭😭😭
Hey Jon ! It's good to know that I don't always have to eat Philly chessesteak in Philadelphia.
the halo gold of effect of living with a upward horns twist.
I'm surprised that Jon hasn't made a video about the skyrocketing rent in NYC
That's an idea down the road.
0:00 I think I’ve been there before but only on the road not the bridges

Philadelphia is basically for those who wanna live in the Northeast corridor on a budget.
