Got stopped in NYC getting offered a demo and was fully expecting to get scammed but just asked "how much?" Dude said "nothing, just a demo, don't gotta pay unless you like it and wanna buy the full thing" That dude was cool, hope he's doing well
This episode _completely_ sold me on Octavia. I come from a broken home, so I empathize _so_ deeply with her fears of abandonment from S1E2 and her disappointment and anger here at the so-called adults in her life not being able to see past their own BS long enough to see how much she's _hurting._ (I was _lucky_ in that my parents' divorce wasn't as _loudly_ acrimonious and that the post-divorce proxy warfare between them was more _passive-aggressive_ than *_actual_*_ aggressive,_ but even so, I went through a lot of the same turmoil we see here.) I needed _less_ selling on Loona at this point, but the focus it put on her during the episode _really_ added more depth to the character. Her traumatic past and the feelings of worthlessness and loneliness she must've been left with shed a new light on her prickly exterior: she's not _antisocial,_ but rather the kind of 'once burned, twice shy' _anxious_ that both _craves_ and _fears_ getting close to people -- it's little _wonder_ that Blitzø's heart _broke_ when he met her that day, seeing a kindred spirit trapped by her own wounds and wanting to help her in his own way. It's also no surprise that Loona would be able to get through Via's defenses and just _talk_ to her. Despite the conversation at the start, Loona _genuinely _*_is_* a people person -- she's just anxious and socially awkward and slow to open up and connect with people, qualities she and Via _share_ but which Loona's more experienced at masking. But as we got to see, she's _really_ good at understanding others' feelings and addressing them in a way that doesn't diminish what they feel, giving comfort from a place of empathy and shared experience in a way _nobody else on the team_ could've done. I _adore_ the big-sister energy we saw from her in this episode, and I hope we get to see these two spending more time together in the future! (Also, can I point out how _insane_ it is that Via was live-blogging a walking tour of L.A. on her Sinstagram page, with a route you can actually follow IRL from the landmarks, _and _*_nobody_*_ thought to _*_check?_* If not for Loona's social media habits, the search might've taken a _lot_ longer!)
Lovely explanation of Loona and Octavia's characters. I did really love that scene of them talking at the end. Really gives so much more depth to them.
one thing i got told before going to NY is to never extend your hand to reach stuff when offered because they won't take it back and fuss you to pay for it, so we went and a guy tried to give a cd to my brother, my brother didn't even grab it or look at the guy, and it fell on the ground, then he followed us for like 2 blocks screaming to us because we broke the cd it was so funny because in the whole exchange we didn't say a word or even acknowledge that guy's presence, he eventually gave up lol the cd didn't even fall that hard but i really hope it did break screw that guy lmao
Love John's comments on how much Helluva Boss shows the different sides of being a parent and how parents are their own people too. Because I feel l like the show also shows the other side of how children are individuals as well with complex feelings and personalities. Especially with how they do Octavia and Loona in this episode.
Fun Facts: When Octavia arrives on Earth and accidentally kills someone, that someone is an actor named Brennon Ragers, a parody of Blitz voice actor Brandon Rogers 👑👑👑 The most popular influencers' affair scene is a direct nod to the Kanye West and Jeffree Star rumor 👑👑👑 The Tears of Azathoth and its primordial origins are a direct nod to HP Lovecraft's Azathoth 👑👑👑
ngl first time watching the episode actually made me tear up twice guys 😅 it's just so touching in such a short time - that scene with Loona and Octavia and the adoption scene, man...
Loona is supposed to be right about six foot and stolas is about shaq height at just over seven feet with his legs as straight as he can get them. The perspective makes him look 10"2 though
I came to give a little recommendation for u guys, Tower of god is actually a korean anime dubbed japanese and let me tell you it will be the absolute best thing to ever happen to u. S2 just started after 10 years nd im telling u its an actual banger! Please i hope u read this and consider my dearest request❤
The abrupt cut from 'normal' John and Chris to Woodstock Johnny and Poison Chrisanthemum _slayed me._
