- The "Rina Cue" is an instrumental tune that first appeared in season 1 of the Disney+ show High School Musical: The Musical: The Series when Gina Porter kissed Ricky Bowen on the cheek. Since that moment, the Cue has appeared throughout the series as Ricky and Gina's relationship progressed. This is a compilation of all the cues from season 1 to its final season, season 4. The Rina Cue is composed by Gabriel Mann.
I do not own High School Musical: The Musical: The Series or its characters. This is purely for fun!

Me personally as a RINA fan I've been here routing for them since day one and knew they were endgame from the beginning and they just needed to wait for their time and season three it finally came for them to really be together

The Rina Cue was under everyones noses all along just like Gina was to Ricky. That is another level of genuis like.

What’s crazy though is the fact that the real aftermath of both Rini breakups and the Portwell breakup with how Nini and EJ treated Ricky and Gina was all to lead up to Rina, and the fact that both the cinematography and the writing throughout all 4 seasons showed it very clearly almost right under our noses. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I have legitimately never seen writing this good. I agee, I remember seeing alot of people not understanding why ricky and nini were falling apart and ej and gina too, they were like 'they make a big deal of building a couple up, then make them unhealthly, and break them up next season' but it was all apart of Ricky and Gina's love story that was slowly building underneath. Genuis.

Like some ppl think rina was random, but even from the beginning something was there (gina literally crying in ricky’s arms when she had to move hello??). and both nini and ej (just like the og commenter said) kinda treated ricky and gina like they were? second to something (nini’s music career and ej’s directing). rina just get each other, like every conversation they have is so real and deep yk. plus ricky was the world’s biggest simp in season3/4 so there’s that.
@@lxlxxl6217 ej and gina felt more random that gina and ricky. The only common ground they shared was both being "ditched" by ricky and nini.

The slowburn I would never get tired rewatching
I loved this slow burn SO MUCH. Rina is the best couple I've seen in so long... (they actually remind me of Barry and Iris from the flash for some reason)

The only things I can think of that would remind you of them when you think of Rina is the fact that they’re both interracial bwwm relationships and that they’re both kinda outspoken gf and golden retriever bf dynamics ngl. Otherwise i don’t really see many similarities.
Having their own romantic theme is a big teller that they were planned.

I love rina so much about time they got together thank you tim for making rina worth the wait so happy they are endgame i cried so hard on the last episode I'm still sad that it's over I'm gonna miss them so much as couple, but im glad we got the prefect closure for their beautiful love story.

I've always considered myself very observant so the fact that I didn't notice Rina cues makes me mad. I mean he's always been so weirdly affected by her, he can never forget about what she said or the homecoming, nini always giving that weird look everytime the two interact..
Same I'm very observant but I never knew about a rina cue until today and I started watching the show in march last year

@@pancakeseu watch the rain kiss scene! also, the director posted some time ago a script showing another version of 3x08 where gina confessed to ricky but instead it was ricky confessing and admitting the chocolates were from him (if you've read the theory is actually super obvious)
@@pancakeseu it wasn’t an explicit confession but definitely hinted towards it. the box of chocolates he drops in the rain kiss looks exactly like the valentine’s day chocolates :)
I think in 303 when ricky says "i'm serious you're anna. That's like a big deal" it sounds a lot like rina cue
The music makes me so sad and emotional, because if you hear the music, you associate it with all their moments. I feel my heart get heavy everytime I hear it
Soo I just found out today from Tim Federle's instagram that the original ending of the car scene for Ricky and Gina was not a kiss on a cheek, but an actual kiss!! Crazy! I think that would have been sweet, but maybe too soon?
I saw and legit screamed lol. There is a part of me that wished they kissed. It would have changed everything and add another layer to the story. And it would further confirm that Rina didn’t come out of nowhere. However, I’m happy with the way things turned out. The cheek kiss is very subtle and tender, a great start to their relationship. And maybe a kiss on the lips is too soon like you said, but it’s fun to imagine how that would change the story!
@star_baker Yeah, and at that point Nini and Ricky were pretty endgame, so maybe it would have made that relationship seem lesser at the end of the season. I definately wasn't a Rina shipper until Season 3, but it's so cool to see all the hints throughout the series
@@clarestollery2503 i think it was predictable for rini to get back together at the end of s1, but they were never gonna be endgame at the end of the show. if the show was canceled after s1, tim was going to include the 2x06 flashback, but because they got renewed tim was able to save it for later. if the show was canceled maybe rini would be endgame but luckily tim was able to tell the story in full and have rina endgame like he planned since the homecoming episode. he said that when he wrote the pilot he didn’t plan for rina to end up together, but the homecoming episode changed that for him.

I hope every enjoys the video! I scrubbed through S4 many times to make sure I got all the scenes. There are some s4 Rina scenes that have background music, but they didn’t have characteristics of the cue to me, so I left them out. I also added scenes I forgot to add in my first video from seasons 1-3.

I have to ask, does anyone have a favorite scene with the cue playing in the background? Homecoming and Camp Prom are definitely favorites of mine, but in season 4 I love when the cue plays as Gina signs up for HSM in the background (Trust the Process). I also love the cue in Born to be Brave when Ricky hugs Gina after her speech. And I think it’s really sweet that it continued for Madlyn and Miss Jenn 💗
definitely the season 3 confession one, that was when rina actually happened and the rina cue kind of had a remix with it being louder and having more instruments

I def agree with homecoming and camp prom. The way Ricky stares at her after she kisses him on the cheek and when he’s picking up the stuff from the floor😍 His gaze is so powerful and strong, you can sense that he was falling in love. I never noticed these cues, I may just have to rewatch the show 😭

It’s also played in 4x03 when Gina talks to Miss Jenn. The 2x6 flashback and 4x5 instrumental is also in the Gina/Nini scene in 2x12
For the 2x6/4x5 part, I didn’t look for other places where the instrumental plays, I just wanted to show the growth of their relationship from then to now!
@@star_baker just rewatched 4x04 and the rina cue is also played at the end of the Ricky and Miss Jenn scene

i loved that they used horns instead of piano. they played around with this cue so much using different instruments and it’s so great to me!
