regardless of the fact that whatever you post or say on this page , every thing simply reinforces the fact that Steve Vai can play and play amazingly at that, and unless you can compose play or feel music like he does, we really dont have a right to question his guitar antics and musical style!
Well since I wrote this comment I bought the FSK-401 and installed it myself on my Jackson DK2. The neck pickup is a single size pup that vibrates the strings while the bridge pup( you can use ANY high out put pup you like, I use a TB (JB)-4 a very awesome pup)picks up the sound and "FEEDS" it back ( hence the term feedback)in a controllable way. Take a look see at my videos dude. It was my 1st time ever doing anything like it. Later bro!!!
@Sunderlanding I meant to add that swing is part of the group of rhythmic devices that require FEEL. Feel yes? as in like New Orleans big band or Romanian Gypsy jazz?you cant simply write it down. thats why jazz charts (as I am sure you know) are written generally in straight 8th and sixteenth notes but are NEVER played that way. they dont bother trying to approximate the rhythms in pseudo triplet concepts because there is no point its not write.
@Sunderlanding swing markings in jazz are approximations. to truly swing is incredibly difficult on a small scale, with trained pro jazz musicians, never mind classically trained ensembles of 64+. so yes, I do know its marked. Sometimes. its not about marking it, its about being able to DO it. and no orchestra I have heard can. the closest you'll get to being able is a big band orchestra. and thats not what i am talking about.
@StefanJoubert777 hey hi!! wow you answer me? wow!!! thanks......I need your music all the time, and really thanks for responding, I wanted to ask if you could add me in some of your social networks to talk to you because in Mexico there is no musician like you .... and I am willing to go to London just to hear you ......stefan you are so special, you have a big gift....thanks for let us hear you........
Does anybody know? Can you use the Evolution HB bridge pick up with the Fernandez single coil sustainer system? Or do you have to use the HB pickup that comes with it in the bridge?
re: the old comment about how orchestras can't play jazz/grooves/feel etc type music - speaking from experience (violinist in orchestras and jazz/rock/blues guitarist/violinist/bass player/blahblah, the point being I've been lucky enough to do both things at a professional level), many orchestral/classical musicians CAN feel jazz/blues fine, some can't, but NONE can do it identically with the other 80 orchestral musicians without super intense rehearsal and notation. too many musicians to guess
I completely disagree nylonsteel,I am a masters student in classical composition and I can tell you straight out one of the HARDEST things to get an orchestral player to understand is anything that has a swing or groove to it.They only play what is written, and although then can play exact rhythmic instructions, ask them to 'just swagger it" and they fall apart. Ask ANY jazz player that and they will agree,classical orchestra's are fucking TERRIBLE at grooves that are not specifically marked.
"getting a orchestra do know how that feels is a bit of a challenge" ?? whoa lil stevie your music isnt that complicated lol ,20th cent. classical music is Filed with much more intricate polyrhythms lol
@Sunderlanding

Rock on son, keep up the good work.
You are doing Music proud!

nothing like a swanky kinda of aditude :)
The attitude song must have been quite a challenge for the orchestre.
you can use most of the popular brands of pickups such as DiMarzio (evolutions)
@jazelastik Thank you so much! - that's very kind of you!
Hi, the Fernandez is a humbucker in the neck position, and i think it can only be used with the humbucker it comes with (high power magnets)

OMG GO TO A FORUM XD
@creamslut An orchestra with no prior training to grooves. If you're accomplished at both, then it's easier.
