An idea, would be to put a block under the blade, lower the blade and enjoy the extra height. You could get about 24" more, at the boom end, with the angle, up.
I was just trying to lift something with my mini-ex and discovered that it really doesn't lift all that high for what I needed. I was trying to get a heavy table saw out of the back of a trailer and couldn't lift it over the sides. I ended up getting my tractor with a loader out to get it.

Looks like you could reverse the connectors and have 4 positions of the lifting points

Had the same problem lifting a garden tractor off the trailer. Had to drive the trailer out from under it once it was lifted.
