I like the shoe but I had to go up half a size. I agree it feels a little more stable than the 1080v13. Supposedly, the stability issue is addressed in v14. 10/10 release.
I've seen some photos of the v14, and it almost looks like a succesor to the More V4, or a More V5 lite. Always hard to tell from just photos though. NB certainly has a lot of options these days.
I really wanted to love these shoes (fit, cushion, design) but they get extremely warm while running, to the point I wanted to take them off mid run. I tend to run a bit hot and live in SoCal, for context.
Great description, concise summation, excellent review. Maybe I missed it but could you speak to the traction of the shoe? Doesn't look 'traction' was a consideration in the tread design at all.
It's a flatter outsole, but I've run in the rain a few times and they've felt fine. I wouldn't take these out on a run where traction is needed (loose gravel, trails, etc).
I’m in the market for a new shoe. My Gel Nimbus 25s are tired, but it doesn’t sound like the MoreV5 is the right shoe for me. Unfortunately, MoreV4 was too wide in the heel for me and 1080s felt too unstable due to softness. Even the Gel Nimbus has caused some heel issues. I’m looking for a better combo of soft and firm.
I'm going to get a pair. At 56 I need to protect the knees. I do have the latest Rebel and the SC Elites for races. My question, have you run 10 plus miles and how did you feel afterwards. Thanks!
Be careful as if shoe is too soft it can actually hurt the knees, I’m 53 and also have to protect the knees and these shoes after a 12k run made my knees sore, just to soft and squishy, like running in sand almost
Asics Gilde Ride Max, Saucony Hurricane 24 or New Balanace Balos would be better options for all-rounders, faster and bouncier as all use Peba for all/part of the midsole
I’m really hoping these work for me… I want a soft max cush shoe but the 1080s were unstable to me. I run in sb2s now for my longer, moderate effort runs but they’re pretty firm which I like; but a plodding squish would be nice for recovery days but I can’t seem to find the stability lately- most neutral shoes I don’t even think about stability. Currently shopping Kayano, Nimbus, and More V5s and accepting all advice for my off-day jaunts.
For what it's worth, I found the 1080s very unstable, but these are such a wide shoe, that I don't have that issue. I wasn't a huge fan of the Nimbus 25s; they just felt awkward. I like the More V5s a lot for an easy run shoe.
@@FreshBrewRunClub I have to retire my more v5s after ~20 miles. Is anyone else getting terrible blisters from this shoe? The toe box is tiny and narrow. I'm usually 10.5-11 and I'm wearing 11s and they're just so short and narrow at the toe. I also get horrible blisters in the inner arch. I do find these shoes fun to run in with a fun rocker and bounce but I'm wondering if other people felt horrible with blisters... I'm going to try glycerin max ...
I would say the v4 was hot, not very versatile, and not very durable. Seems like the foam was really only good miles 50 - 150ish then not so great after. I had Brooks Glycerin & Saucony Triumph 20 at the same time & preferred both of those for easy or long runs. The Triumph went 500 miles, Glycerin 350 (soft outsole), v4 only 300. I’m glad I found a pretty good deal on the v4. I would be pretty disappointed if I paid retail. Will not be trying the v5.
I have the v4, it's 600kms by now, and feel it's still great and has a lot of bouncyness. the upper is pretty hot yes, and the rubber starts to wear out but still not exposing the midsole yet. it's a really good shoe for me tbh. I even favor that compare to on Cloudmonster 2. maybe it works better for heavier runner 🤔
These are really soft, but some people might think they're too soft for standing for long periods of time. Personally, I'd prefer the ASICS Nimbus for extended periods of walking/standing. Plenty of cushion, but not too much.
I’ve had some bad luck with NB midsoles. 1080 v12 felt dead out of the box. Great for walking though. Rebel v4 feels like barely any cushion. More v4 took them to 20 miles and switched them to walking shoes cuz they felt dead and compressed way too much for me. Sucks cuz I wanna love NB since most of their shoes are offered in big sizes (I’m at 15 to 16 depending) and wides. Gonna try these out sooner or later..just hope to finally get something I love by them
I'd say these are good for 6-8 miles, but a slightly easier pace. I don't think they'll prevent shin splints; I dealt with them years ago and tried a bunch of different shoes. Nothing worked until I started doing specific exercises to strengthen my shin muscles, and stopped doing too much plyometric workouts for my calves. But after that, I have felt great!
I’m having an issue with certain New Balance shoes, particularly the More V4 and 1080v13. The tongue is uncomfortable because a piece of fabric behind the seam (toward the toes) constantly rubs against the top of my foot. It's strange, but the More V5 doesn’t have this problem! I can’t understand how anyone can wear these two models, as that piece of fabric keeps pressing and rubbing against the foot. No other shoe brand seems to have this issue - in every other shoe, the fabric behind the seam at the end of the tongue is always neatly trimmed, regardless of the model. Can someone explain what’s going on? Check your More V4 or 1080v13 shoes - doesn’t it bother you? Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do? These two are by far the most comfortable shoes for me, but I can’t wear them because of this issue. I don’t have any problems with the Rebel V4, which I’m currently wearing.
I can't really run much anymore. Two meniscus surgeries. Lots of advanced arthritis for a 30 year old. I want something that has cushion to maybe take some of the shock absorbing out of my knees. Would you recommend these or is there something else you would recommend?
While I can’t speak to how these would feel exactly based on your stride, I will say these are the most cushioned shoes I’ve ever run in. If you’re looking for something to absorb impact, I think these will do a great job. Are they a miracle shoe? Not quite, but I’m not sure that exists.
Hello ,,, thank you for what you are doing ,, I wanna buy 2 shoes my priority is comfort and breathable ,, my use is long standing walking a little pit easy run ,,, whats ur suggestion??
I felt like the 1080v13 was indeed a snug shoe, and I probably should have gone up half a size. However, the More V5 isn't as bad, so I'd consider them to be an every so slightly snug true to size shoe. Plenty of width, but the padding makes them a little cozy around the toes
The 1080v13 is "my one and only" NB which I needed to size(it fixed width issue but a bit long but ok)... all my other NB 1080v10/v11 and more v4 are true to size. The Morev5 can only be ordered online as it is not available in dealers in my country. Waiting for more sizing/fit feedbacks as difficult to return online imported products 😂
What you advice for overpronters planter fasciitis. Recently bought Asics gel kayano 31 on 20 August. Not happy it's doesn't have enough cushion over all. Infact my right legs around fingers area pain encounter which I never had before. New balance 1080 v13 or More v5 or Aetrex men chase. Or something which is better for standing 12 hrs daily. Thank you
I find it to soft, too squishy and after just 1 12k easy run my knees hurt and also had ankle pain which I never get, nicely made shoe but it is just toooooo soft
It’s just something I always pay attention to. The original Pegasus Turbo wore down really fast, and many super shoes will show signs of wear on the outsole before 100 miles. This shoe is in good shape so far though

I already ordered it based on your great review. You covered all the topics i was curious about .. Thank you
Thanks for watching!!
Looks perfect for me. I have many shoes in the rotation and need a recovery shoe to keep me slow and warm feet in the winter ❤
Sounds like these will be a great fit!
I really wanted to love these shoes (fit, cushion, design) but they get extremely warm while running, to the point I wanted to take them off mid run. I tend to run a bit hot and live in SoCal, for context.
Yeah, I was surprised at the heat I felt in these. Normally that doesn't bother me, even in the summer
I’m glad NB has the the shoe drop at 4mm. Imagine it was 8-10mm, it would’ve been unstable.
Agreed
its actually 8mm check runrepeat

Отличное описание, краткое изложение, отличный обзор.
Solid review ✊🏽

Have you tried the Nike Invincible 3? I felt like that was a good mix (a bit more on the soft side, due to the large amount of ZoomX foam).
I'm going to get a pair. At 56 I need to protect the knees. I do have the latest Rebel and the SC Elites for races. My question, have you run 10 plus miles and how did you feel afterwards. Thanks!
I have run 8 miles in these; I feel pretty good but I mostly use them for easy runs. They aren’t a very fast shoe, but they keep my feet comfy.

I wear these to work everyday. Very comfortable.
Great to hear! Comfortable for sure
More V4 is on sale for $99 everywhere!
daaang.., so I am really feeling like I came up after grabbing the V4, for 60 bucks a few months ago.
great video Aaron
Is it breathable? Friendly for Texas?
Yeah, I am tempted to pick up a pair before they become too hard to find.
Great deal!
These are not breathable. I found them to be pretty warm while running this summer in Michigan.
Asics Gilde Ride Max, Saucony Hurricane 24 or New Balanace Balos would be better options for all-rounders, faster and bouncier as all use Peba for all/part of the midsole
Shoutout!

Love that! Next stop, Grand Rapids?
so is this the softest shoe? cushiest shoe for walkers?
This is the softest shoe I've ever worn. Probably too soft for walking a lot for me personally. I like the ASICS Nimbus line better.
Is it softer than Nimbus 25?
Yes, much softer
I wear 1080v13 in wide 2E size US 10 but it feels snug width wise and in vertical volume above toes too. What size should i get in morev5?

Why do I get creases in my toe box with the More 5? Thank you
On the upper, or the midsole? I haven't noticed any creasing with mine (yet)
More on the More 😎.
The most More
I steel prefer v4 strongly
Agreed!
I am thinking of more v4 ,, rebel v4 ,, nike invincible 3 ,, asics gel nimbus 26
Based on those options, I would chose the Invincible 3. The are a good mix of cushion and firmness

@@FreshBrewRunClub so any other suggestions?
You should really try the NB Balos
It seems like an interesting show, but I haven’t loved the new FreshFoamX midsoles. I might get them if I see a good deal
NB is just a short living soft shoe it also loses 40% of squish in winter so I wouldnt buy em
I find it to soft, too squishy and after just 1 12k easy run my knees hurt and also had ankle pain which I never get, nicely made shoe but it is just toooooo soft
Yeah, these are extremely soft. I can't really do anything other than an easy pace in them, even after 200 or so miles.
try Ons
More please…🤣
MORE!!!!
At 100 miles a shoe should have no wear in my opinion doesn't matter how soft or hard it it. At that rate you'll be spending a ton of cash. Not me.
