"Mismanaged bc of difficult economic circumstances exacerbated by American foreign policy". Right. American leftists show great hubris in thinking they will get socialism right.
Those long lines are reminiscent of the lines in the USSR. I always think about the movie Moscow on the Hudson and the way Robin Williams' character became emotional at the toilet paper aisle of the grocery store.
I don't know about no Robin Williams but I stood in these lines. 90-s, early morning, -30 outside, a line for milk for 2 hours. And I had it nice and easy because it was nothing compared to lines in the fucking seventies.
Yep. Used to stand in those lines as a kid. Best part was that there were no plastics, so if you wanted milk or sour cream or even soda, you had to bring your own containers. Assuming the stores had milk, sour cream, soda, etc.
I always had a book with me to read while waiting in line. I live in New York now, I love that movie, and it breaks my heart to see how many Americans believe real communism has never been tried, even though there are thousands of immigrants from former communist countries living here.
Thanks Ami.. It's so said to see how ignorance reigns Supreme over so many Americans. Hopefully in 2018 we will vote out these idiots in Congress and get rid of Donald chump when his time is up.
As a Venezuelan living in Caracas, I must admit watching this really surprised me. Thank you for doing this. I'm scared of taking out my smartphone when I'm walking the streets, you did it with a camera and a microphone equipment. Thank you for spreading the truths about what is really happening here. The most impressive fact is that most of the people that I know, and most of the political leaders in my country, are convinced that socialism works, but it's not currently working because "it has not been applied correctly yet". Even a large amount of Venezuelans is angry at the president, but not at socialism. Almost every political party (pro-government and pro-opposition) is left-oriented. Again, thank you for doing this. I truly hope that the United States doesn't go the same path that my country did several years ago.
Ami I am originally from Venezuela and wanted to say thank you for showing the rest of the world what is going on in Venezuela it is sad but true it is amazing to me people wanting to bring socialism to America why can't people realize that the free market and freedom are some of the big reasons USA is a great country?
Exactly, Sweden & Norway have almost as much economic freedom as America, which goes to show how much the Democrats have succeeded in pulling America down.
Actually more. In Norway you can open some types of companies IN A DAY!!! ONE DAY! Much less bureaucracy than in the US. Oh, and they give you tax incentives for the first year of operation so you can pull through.
You're crazy. The Socialist People's Libyan Arab Jamahiriya was a hellhole, unless you were close to the government, of course. Like all socialist experiments, it worked out ok at the beggining, while oil financed everything, but then came the collapse. Socialism is UNSUSTAINABLE.
The richest person in Venezuela is Hugo Chávez's daughter, María Gabriela Chávez. She had never had a job, but when Hugo Chávez divorce his wife in 2002, Maria began accompanying him on state visits. She amassed 4.2 BILLION dollars of wealth (supposedly held in a Swiss bank account). Under Nicholas Maduro, Maria was appointed as a "Substitute Ambassador" to the UN. I predict eventually both she and Nicholas Maduro will be hanging next to each other from the balcony of the Presidential Palace.
This is true. She now lives a luxury life in New York City, the richest city of the richest country, capital of wealth and of everything that Hugo Chavez and socialism is supposedly against.
So they are the Clintons of Venezuela? Shit, our corrupted officials can't get away with billions of dollars. That or they do but have to get EVERYONE a cut in washington lol.
Yeah. Here in brasil we have same shit happening. Luis Inacio (ex president LULA) son used to clean shit in a zoo. Now he has an expensive airplane and once in the past he crashed a FERRARI and just abandon it like it was nothing , just garbage. All hes parents now as HUGE amounts of money.
Thanks for reporting on this. Most of the news generally involves Donald Trump's tweets. Good to find out what it is going on out in the rest of the world.
My mother once asked me, "If your friend jumped off of a bridge, would you follow him?" I think if I was a democrat and my friend was a democrat politician, the answer would be, "Yes."
Chilean here. My dad and mom told me that it was the same here before the coup d'etat in 1973: there was no food and you had to wait in endless lines to get 500gr of bread for a family of 5. Guess what? We had a socialist government. Everybody knows that Pinochet is a murdered, but is wrong to deny the fact that there was no food at the time. Before the lines stuff my grandma had a butchery and when an an animal came, commies would also arrive and take most of the meat with them because they obviously didn't give a shit about people starving, but only cared about feeding themselves, their comrades.
Every system of government sounds good on paper. Socialism- everything belongs to everyone and nobody wants for anything. Communism- Everything belongs to a benevolent government which will provide for everyone, each according to his own needs and nobody will do without. General democracy based on individual liberty- The collective voice of the people in the majority will steer the policies of the whole, to the benefit of the whole (assuming to leave nobody out). Where individual liberties dont infringe on others' liberties or the will of the majority, total freedom exists. Representative democracy/representative republic- regions are given the freedom to adjust policy according to local majority, where local regions don't interfere with the lager whole. Then humans get involved. And humans suck. So what you're left with is Socialism and Communism being 2 sides of the same coin, each of which makes pets of the population to the government's pet owner...hoping to God that the owner isn't corrupt. And you get democratic governments pressing towards socialism and communism because it is more beneficial to the government (rather than the people). Of these 4, the best chance for sustained personal freedom is to defend local and individual rights above the national collective. We need control to be returned to the state and local level and the federal government to shrink dramatically. Aside from infrastructure and national defense, I should barely know that we have a federal government. We need a president to do this... Sacrifice his political career to break the federal government down and return freedom to the states and to the people.
I am Venezuelan living in Venezuela. The only mistake I found in the video is that Venezuelans today are not divided in poor and superrich as it says in the video. There are still people in between such as myself, who come from the educated upper-middle class. We are still upper-middle or middle (many have dropped a level) depending on sources of income. Many Venezuelans prepared for this chaos by investing abroad, so they make money abroad while still living in Venezuela. Most of the rich (honest) Venezuelans live in Miami today. The richest of all however are the ones connected with the government. They have become BILLIONAIRES. Google Alejandro Andrade, Samark Lopez, etc.
So sad. Poor people. And we have so much fucking idiots not only begging for this system but even if they saw this would still say it is a better system.
We pray there will be some kind of assistance or solution for the Venezuelan people. Us Americans who have a brain are hurting for you, but we don't know what we can do. 🇺🇲❤🇻🇪
That last Fantastic Four movie wasn't really the REAL Fantastic Four, guys! If only I were the one in charge, we'd have great Fantastic Four movies as far as the eye can see! Also, I think the Avengers universe is shit. I know most people are happy with how those movies are playing out, but I'm not. I wanna bring a failed franchise into the most successful franchise of all time.
The last fantastic four was pandering to the politically correct, diversity fanatics by turning the iconic Torch, black. Now imagine the outcry if the panther was made white.
Sure, but I was talking about Socialism using the Marvel movies as a metaphor. But you're right though that director was a [frick]ing idiot, you know the whole 2nd half of that movie was all reshoots forced onto him by the studio? I can't imagine how bad the Director's Cut must've been if what we got in the end was the new & improved version. But yeah... Socialism is bad, too. Probably even worse.

I was also told that many construction projects would take pretty much a decade because no one would want to work, the workers would just drink all day. I don't think Poland was as violent though.
I wish we got to see Ami tell the Americans that love Socialism, and see their reaction and hear what they say, when he tells them what it does and what it happening.

I was going to say how the hell are they not going crazy and fighting back. Im actually glad to see how much anger and violence there is at the end although it needs to be directed at the cops and government. This is why we have the right to bear arms.
" Socialism is great! ": then you have to explain why 7 millions Cambodian in 1971 remained only 6 millions in 1981 after a " great socialism revolution" ?
There's an older video of Bernie Sanders saying food lines are not a bad thing because "at least there's equal distribution of food". And he's very popular with the youth.
@ julea bacall sharing and equality is popular with those who don't want to work and have no skin in the game. I don't care what YOU call it, that is what was sold to the people of Venezuela by Hugo Chavez and the video you see here is the result. "Viva La Socialism", "Socialism or bust" were some of his slogans. Well, they went bust. The same happened in Cuba, same outcome. Go there if that's what you want.
Weird seeing some of the people with braces and many with healthy, straight, white teeth. They may be starving, but at least they've got Dental coverage!
The serious food shortages problems are recent, from when the Oil prices fell worldwide, Chavez died and Maduro took control. Venezuela has a 1,400% inflation... don't take my word for it, google it.
As far as wages & living conditions America is the best place to live. What a lot people are not thinking about is,no one is claiming any system is perfect. America is not 100% Capitalist. In America the rich pay 70% of the total taxes taken in(or more). Also in America we have welfare and programs that help single mothers. We also have a ton of food pantries that offer free food, most of these are faith based organizations that do not require you to be a person that believes in there faith (in other words a Satanist can get help from a church with not strings attached). Now if you want to focus on changing something you should focus on minimum wage, however having said that Americas minimum wage is better than any country's alternative. So yes,America is not perfect but its the best system in the world. To prove this to your self just compare your living conditions to other countries population and quit comparing your situation to the richest in the world. If people continue to compare them selves to they richest people they will always feel like a victim and never improve there life.
No no no Ami, you've got it wrong, all wrong. That's the wrong kind of socialism, they're talking about the right kind of socialism. You see, if only they had a chance they could show you how socialism is really supposed to work. Phew, glad I could clear that up for you.
I live in Venezuela. The working class here in not all starving, but they are malnourished. Some might seem chubby because they have a diet of government distributed pasta and grains. They do not eat protein. If you only ate pasta every day, you would get chubby too.
Multi Pass The murdered ones they spoke about probably don't look too healthy. But otherwise they all seem to be on a diet and get plenty of exercise beating each other up over scraps. Just what the doctor ordered lol!
You know what those Democrat Americans will argue about this? They will say, well, the US is such a wealthy country so we will have good foundation, we have enough resources to distribute and we won't get into the same chaos as these poor countries.
And you only went to Venezuela. I invite you to come to Argentina too. You can visit Brazil, Bolivia, North Korea, China, Iraq, Iran, Cuba, Zimbabwe, Sudan, Haiti, Ecuador... you can name it. It _never_ works.
