Here's a fun tip! If you want colors that are specific instead of the rainbow colors of the color effect , make multiple costumes and color them differently. Then , put a switch costume block into the forever loop for when I become a clone , and put a 'choose random from 1 to 10' block and put that where it says the costume number that it would switch to. Change the numbers to 1 to the amount of costumes you have. You're welcome!
Good question! Here's how you can do it. Give this code to the other sprites: when green flag clicked forever if (touching mouse pointer) and (mouse down)
also a tip is if you want only one thing as your mouse trail and want it to leave a effect behind switch the colour effect to ghost effect ti get a cool looking shadow when you move your mouse
@@ScratchTeam And there are a limit of 200.000 items in a list right. I found that when I tried to make a virtual test by random number and I tried to make a list of 1.000.000 tests
@@startscratching6282 Scratch tries to put a limit on pretty much everything so you don't accidentally break your project. That item limit is about right.
Hey! I really think you make the best, calmest and most important videos from Scratch. I always understand and it's not that advanced! I always want to hear when you explain because I do not know what it is but I really appreciate it so much anyway! :). and I started in June 2020 and I have developed but of course have problems and everything is apparently not here on youtube but there is one thing I want to know, how can you control which button you press in a variable on Scratch? I have tried: forever loop change "number" with 1 check if entry "number" in the list is down then but if I pressed "a" and a is in 1 in the list I have to wait until the variable is to 1 again (and of course I change the variable back to 1 if it is equal to the length of the list) so I hope you understand me and can help me in a simple way and forgive me if it got too long! :(.
Amazing! Well it'd be a great idea to make the explosion effect controllable, for example pressing the arrow keys controls in which direction we would shoot/explode the sprite, and we could even make a game with this! Amazing!
You guys are the best! I wanted to make a mouse trail and i made one! It was so amazing! keep up and lets scratch on! I chose the cat sprite because eeven you chose it!
Hello Scratch Team, Thank you so Much for this tutorial. Question: when will the features in scratch lab come to regular scratch? Thank you! Scratch on! :D
I remixed the original mouse trail project and it lets users stamp sprites with the mouse trail. If the user clicks on the sprite, then it gets stamped onto the project board. If the player presses the green flag, then everything is erased. The player can choose more than seventy (I think?) stamps which can be cycled through with the space bar.
Still waiting for the point to (x) (y) block. I know it's possible to make but it would still be convenient to have :| (also a "variable" that says what layer a sprite/clone is on)
Oh forgive me for being a newb n such, but when you make the trails how do we use them? is it a certain program? i love the idea of customizable trails, now how do i use them?
What's gonna be the object in your mouse trail? :D
star
Fire
Dragon!!
Maybe a star,a ball or a smiley face
A star
Well obviously the squirrel trail will be my trail of choice from now on - Great tutorial as always Zinnea

Just to clarify: An effect that is fixed to the sprite is called an 'aura', An effect that is delayed from the sprite is called a trail.
Hi Zinnea! Thank you for the tutorial! :)
There is also a limit for clones right? My friend found out that there can only be 300 at each time, I realised myself too
