- its a september Morning on the Housatonic Railroad, where we follow them drill SPEM, but instead of going north, we go south. Follow along as we head southbound to New Milford

Great video. I love the former NHRR Berkshire sub. It must have a joy to ride the rails to the Berkshires back in the day. Question: why the leased Geeps? What happened to the Housatonic’s GP35s? Broken down and out of service?
Thank you! The GP35’s are OOS plus GMTX 2627 and 2346, 2627 should be getting a new traction motor, and 2346 lease is up so it’s sitting stored on one of the shop tracks

Amazing video! Does the Housatonic still operate the gp-35’s or did the GMTX locomotives take over? It would be amazing if you could do another video about the Housatonic’s north end (the line to Pittsfield).
All of the GP35’s are currently OOS. However one is at the G&U getting rebuilt. I’ll eventually get to another video on the North End

that is 107 lb rail put down over 100 years ago?
No,that was put down somewhere around 10 years ago. CWR didn’t start being laid until the 1960’s. And I know the New Haven didn’t have the money or equipment to lay CWR. That rail i believe is 132 Ibs. Heavier than stick rail
