Re watching that last pre season game saw AP talking to Adams on the sidelines when Minshew was out there makes me wonder if Adams was on board with the QB decision?
I don’t think it came down to the int. I rewatched Minshew and he threw at least two passes that looked like sure interceptions. Everyone thinks a tie goes to the one. But in the culture of the NFL the tie goes to the veteran. Minshew is a finished product for what I consider his warts. We will be a “ ride the hot hand” team. But this 2 reads and then sprint to the right boundary will not age well. I’m hoping it’s just holding the playbook closed for preseason.
Minshew should be alright. He's not that old at 28 yrs. This is one of the better teams he's played with talent wise(as a starter). The dude is making 25 mil. That is not backup money. There has been some great QB's that were 2nd string for a few seasons. The Raiders are gonna move up and draft a QB next year.

I think to start the season, Minshew is a better choice. I’m pretty sure we are gonna see AOC at some point this year, and if we don’t, that means Minshew is lighting it up! So the mobile Minshew gives us a better chance off surviving that stretch until the PUP list guys are ready. AP mentioned several times that Minshew’s services will better help us during the first quarter of the season

Hate to break bad news, but the Chargers have 3 very good RB's. OC Joe Hortiz has always put together a top notch running game. Top 5. Not to mention QB Herbert with a much better O line. Then Raiders have to contend with the Ravens, Derek Henry and Lamar Jackson. Harbaugh brothers both great coaches. Raiders will drop first two games.
Minnshew is jimmy g 2.0 his footwork is not good he never sets his feet. Overt throwss under throws he runs out of clean pockets. That Dallas game 2 or 3 times he should ve thrown a pick. If that one wasn't t tipped probably was a pick 6. All that talk from Pierce now the honeymoon phase is over. The rubber is hitting the road and they don t look good it is pre season in all fairness. Aiden's in his 3rd offense inside a year which is disastrous for a young QB. He has struggle way more in this offense than I thought he would. This is the right decision. Aiden needs to sit and watch how the offense works before putting him under all this pressure. Minshew has been there before and knows how to navigate the league. This helps Aiden and the team settle down and focus on winning. Aiden has a very high ceiling and I feel is a better QB in the long run but he needs a chance to digest this offense. At least for the first 4 games Minshew should come out 2-2 or better if not they will turn to Aiden and not look back.
I wish that The GM would actually be more intentional with pursuing players that could actually make the Raiders more competitive. Why not kick the tires with Tannerhill or exploring a trade to get Trey Lance, Hendon Hooker , Dorian Thompson-Robinson or Huntley ?

O'Connell is the the better looking QB. I've played a lot of football and know that a quarterback does not run backwards as soon as I seen that I honestly thought coach Pierce has made his decision. Then it either furthered my notion when he left Gardner in longer. I figured he didn't want Gardner to just come out discourage after a horrible showing so he wanted him in there to build his confidence as our backup. Then O'Connell comes out only Mrs one throw gets a touchdown moves the ball two or three third Downs looked great. O'Connell hits a touchdown throw. He should have been taken out and got the quarterback job. I don't know why Antonio put him in for one more series this is another bad call by the coach you had the momentum rolling for a Young quarterback to gain confidence you put him in to make one more forced throw and make him take five steps backwards the decision is not good for a Young quarterback it's not good for the team it's not good for the fans that all are behind you coach AP. I still believe he is the right coach for the raiders but he needs to go back to his gut and stop second-guessing timeouts at the end of games why would you throw a quarterback in after he just won the job in front of the entire nation you put him in for one more throw and then take it away from him he didn't need to be in there. Only thing I can think of is Aiden still needs about four weeks to polish they're going to throw Gardener in there for these rough physical first games we're going up against some major defenses that could really hurt a quarterback this is the real test if Gardner can win two out of four games he will stay starter if not APS original plan it's too late Aiden flourish and not get banged up in facing these great defenses that come weeks 1 through 4. AOC was the more accurate QB. But given the defenses of the first two opponents on our schedule coupled with a shaky Oline a more mobile QB is called for IMO. Hence Minshew is the choice.

I think because neither QB convinced AP that he really came out to take the starting job, we're guaranteed to see an early round QB in next years draft. AP made it clear that's what he wanted them both to do. Neither appeared to do it. Every coach needs a hand picked QB that's "their guy." I really feel all of the Raiders Content Creators affected MINCHEW game play this past weekend by criticizing that he rolls out to the Right too much as if he never went to the Left or stepped up in the pocket so he looked so uncomfortable rolling out to his left or changing what he does consistently good to appease content creators. The Raiders knew that he did that before they signed him and now they’re trying to change how he plays behind content creators that have never played in the NFL.
Maybe Minshew get feet happy cause he bit short and cant see over the 6'7 linemen so he gotta scramble to see, then throw inaccurate balls, Aiden more accurate and taller. Plus maybe with weak Oline gotta scramble, must forge solid Oline to protect QB

I wish that The GM would actually be more intentional with pursuing players that could actually make the Raiders more competitive. Why not kick the tires with Tannerhill or exploring a trade to get Trey Lance, Hendon Hooker , Dorian Thompson-Robinson or Huntley ?

Therefore, Minshew gives us a better chance to win because he can escape the pocket and make plays downfield. Then, when Kolton Miller and JPJ return, we start AOC
The unfortunate truth is the PG has never had a good run defense, other than one top 10 ranking. I don't know if it's primarily from missed tackles or the overall scheme that's the problem. I'm leaning towards the players not taking care of business. He can't tackle for them. Raaaaaideeers 🏴🖤🗡
Just watch last year’s Week 7 game between the Colts and Browns. That game will show you what we’ll be dealing with when it comes to Gardner. The dude will dazzle you and horrify you in one single game. He comes so close to being good and then he just blows it.

O'Connell is the the better looking QB. I've played a lot of football and know that a quarterback does not run backwards as soon as I seen that I honestly thought coach Pierce has made his decision. Then it either furthered my notion when he left Gardner in longer. I figured he didn't want Gardner to just come out discourage after a horrible showing so he wanted him in there to build his confidence as our backup. Then O'Connell comes out only Mrs one throw gets a touchdown moves the ball two or three third Downs looked great. O'Connell hits a touchdown throw. He should have been taken out and got the quarterback job. I don't know why Antonio put him in for one more series this is another bad call by the coach you had the momentum rolling for a Young quarterback to gain confidence you put him in to make one more forced throw and make him take five steps backwards the decision is not good for a Young quarterback it's not good for the team it's not good for the fans that all are behind you coach AP. I still believe he is the right coach for the raiders but he needs to go back to his gut and stop second-guessing timeouts at the end of games why would you throw a quarterback in after he just won the job in front of the entire nation you put him in for one more throw and then take it away from him he didn't need to be in there. Only thing I can think of is Aiden still needs about four weeks to polish they're going to throw Gardener in there for these rough physical first games we're going up against some major defenses that could really hurt a quarterback this is the real test if Gardner can win two out of four games he will stay starter if not APS original plan it's too late Aiden flourish and not get banged up in facing these great defenses that come weeks 1 through 4. We need accuracy for the second half of the season to slide into the playoffs he might just be up to something for now I will support men's shoe and say let's go Raiders!!!!

AOC was the more accurate QB. But given the defenses of the first two opponents on our schedule coupled with a shaky Oline a more mobile QB is called for IMO. Hence Minshew is the choice.

AP made it clear that's what he wanted them both to do. Neither appeared to do it. Every coach needs a hand picked QB that's "their guy." If Minshew and O'Connell both didn't answer the call, they aren't HIS guy.

I really feel all of the Raiders Content Creators affected MINCHEW game play this past weekend by criticizing that he rolls out to the Right too much as if he never went to the Left or stepped up in the pocket so he looked so uncomfortable rolling out to his left or changing what he does consistently good to appease content creators. The Raiders knew that he did that before they signed him and now they’re trying to change how he plays behind content creators that have never played in the NFL.

Man I am soooo tired of every raiders podcast debate the qb situation. I think was always clear from the signing who the starter was and should be unless AOC stepped up big time this training camp which he didn’t. Simple fact is that AOC is not a starting qb in the nfl.

My faith in AP has dropped significantly after the two preseason performances. QBs both looked mid or worse, the Defense looked weak. Regular season better look better or he's not going to last very long.

I'm not giving up hope for the season. But the team hasn't looked good, and my expectations have dropped a bit. Still love AP over many of the recent coaches but if you're not somewhat concerned, I'd argue you didn't watch closely enough.
