A Japanese team hàd visited our plant for technical advise. After the Indian lunch I saw they all used the single basin for hand wash and each of them cleaned the basin before he left. This is a habit I picked up from them.

I am ashamed to believe that many people would have died if it occurred here in the US because they are too selfish, would have grabbed bags, would have run like herds for the doors, and otherwise would not have been orderly and helped one another. I hope I am wrong, but our behaviors....

In this challenging situation, flight attendants who safely guided people should be commended and are a source of pride for the Japanese. Additionally, the calm attitude of the passengers has, of course, contributed to avoiding a major panic.
I agree and if there is some type of national award in Japan the entire crew of this aircraft should get it. Let’s not forget the pilots that brought the plane to a safe stop after witnessing the explosion below their windshield.

I’m always the dork reading the safety pamphlet in the planes. Aviation is also my career… I always tell people it’s not if, but when, emergencies happen…and they DO happen.
This is a testament to the amazing engineering work by Airbus, the A350 incredible structural design and rigidity performed remarkably, allowing to come to a safe stop even after being hit by another aircraft while landing. That amazing composite design allowed the evacuation of all passengers safely. Well done Airbus!

In Indian flights , the moment the plane lands, people from row 15 are the first ones standing next to row 1….everyone is in a hurry and doesn’t wait till the plane finishes taxi…. You can hear the attendants screaming “sit down, the seat belt signs are on”… during an accident you add, screaming, panic, grabbing of luggage, not following instructions, and a stampede to all of this…yeahhhh this kinda accident is not survivable in India. Period.
In India people would stamp on another, climb on another, drag their precious bags; they would love to survive not worrying about killing someone’s else to survive. Japanese keep teaching such behaviour to world but majority keep ignoring them. Loss is for ignorant! They do share their part of loss too!

There were children crying! They had to verify which doors and chutes weren’t facing the flames and no one was trampling others and they listened to the crew! Notice though that when people were afraid but saying “PLEASE OPEN THE DOORS!” Manners! No pushing, no panic, no trampling people or trying to retrieve their stuff! That’s why they survived! They know to listen to instructions, assess for the safest exit and calmly evacuate! That’s how almost 400 people lived!

If that was an American flight there would have been multiple casualties. No way we can follow even the simplest instructions.
Same for Indian flight. Indian aunties would rather die, but won't leave without their bags and purse and mobiles and fix their dress.
