I have made the cranberry/chili sauce smokies several times thru the Holiday season for years, great for carry in or home Partys. I have also made the crescent roll little smokies countless times for grandchildren and their friends.
@@karenscannell5713 I'm so glad you liked it! I experimented one year, and that's how I have to do it now. It's mandatory! lol When they like it, they like it. =) Happy New Year!
For years I took Li'l Smokies to work potlucks but I just put them with barbeque sauce in the crock pot. They were always a big hit but I'll bet the cranberry and chili sauce ones would be delicious.
Hi Catherine , my sister always makes the bacon wrapped lil smokies every year for the Superbowl and Christmas . When I was a kid we always had open house at Christmas and my dad would put the Lil smokies in a pot with bushes baked beans (maple & brown sugar) flavor . Love your recipes ! Keep em coming 💜
I must be very boring!!! The only way I have ever done my little smokies is with barbecue sauce in the crockpot!!! Great ideaa!!! I'm going to try all of them!!! God Bless!!!
Catherine, thank you for showing the cranberry sauce and Heinz chili sauce and little smokies recipe I lost years ago, l got this recipe in the 70 s. What a great family!
One of my favs is to mix up package cornbread muffins and add in some shredded cheddar cheese and chopped green onions. Line mini muffin pan with muffin papers. Stand one little Smokey in the center of each muffin cup. Place in preheated oven and bake as directed on muffin pkg. YUMMMM
Over here in the U.K., the bacon wrapped ones are called pigs in blankets, so tasty! 😋 and the ones wrapped in pastry or dough are like a sausage roll over here.
Wow those look amazing can’t wait to try them! You must really enjoy cooking and it shows I just smiled throughout this entire video. Thanks for the great recipes!
I might try this version, because I'm not fond of cranberry and neither is anyone in our house. It's good tho? BBQ and jelly together? Sounds interesting 🤔
I'm so glad I found your channel and website! These are such relatable, down to earth recipes that are so accessible for the average family and full of good southern flair that I grew up on (I'm from Texas - grew up in DFW area). I personally won't be able to eat any of the food for a while but I'm already planning on some of your dishes to make for my family, I know my kids are going to love it! I recently had surgery and recovering on a liquid diet but oddly watching food videos helps calm any head cravings. And your stuff looks so good.
ALL Great Ideas! I've had the cranberry sauce with Lil' Smokies in the past but never added the chili sauce; so that sounds very good. As a diabetic I don't dare use brown sugar on anything, so while they look good, I know they are not the best ones for my blood glucose and A1c. I've had the crescent rolls with hotdogs but not the Lil' Smokies, so that looks great also and yes, I'll still count the carbs for these too. These are all great ideas. Would be nice served with various cheeses and mixture of olives. Thank you!
I'll be trying the bacon/brown sugar smokies this year. We always have them warmed with half and half hot bbq sauce and ketchup. Even after the smokies are gone, everybody gets a little bowl for the test of the sauce!
Love your ideas. My family will like these. My daughter said your pigs in a blanket jalopeno poppers were her favorite. We always make bourbon dogs, teriyaki wings, and party meatballs in the tri -cooker as holiday snacks. Have a wonderful Christmas
I've made the crescent roll ones myself but instead of mustard, I've put a piece of thick cut sharp cheddar cheese in with it. My kids love them. Northeastern Massachusetts
Please, please, post the recipes so I can print them out. We're going to make all 3 for my husband's birthday this Sunday. I love your appetizer recipes.
Just love the simplicity of these recipes. I’ve had all three of theses recipes with mini hot dogs instead of the little smokies and they’re delicious that way too.
Cathrine thank you for three easy recipes trying the crockpot cranberry and chilli sauce one can't wait to try sounds and looked really delicious 🤤😋 also love the little Christmas snowman on your counter super sweet just love it! Merry Christmas to you and family we usually use sweet baby Ray's Smokies in crockpot and dig in so good too keep it simple😊👍🥰can not wait too try these..thank you!💝😉👍
I love lily smokies. I usually buy the beef ones or the one with cheese inside. The bacon and cresent roll ones I know I will like and may make those for when my son comes home for Christmas to snack on when he gets here.
Had to come back to get a quick refresher… having a “snack” supper tonight with the bacon wrapped smokies and also the crescent roll wrapped smokies.. with chips and dips 😅 thanks again 🥰
These all look good! I love the cranberry and chili sauce idea, but those bacon wrapped ones look really delicious! And of course the pigs in a blanket are always yummy too! 👍🙂
We have the bacon/brown sugar several times a year. This year we are trying your other 2 recipes thank you, love your recipes. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
That's interesting, my son loves mustard and I have dry mustard in my cupboard. If I do half with the dry mustard, about how much would I use? Definitely are going to try these.
We use grape jelly instead of the cranberry, but I think I will be trying the cranberry sounds interesting. We use cranberry as base for a teriyaki sauce.
I have saved this video so I have reference if I forget. I used the everything bagel seasoning on the pigs in a blanket and used some butter in the egg wash and they were especially delicious.
I usually put the lil’ smokies in a saucepan with BBQ sauce and warm it. If I were making it for me, I would fix the one that has the bacon wrapped around them and then sprinkle them with Brown Sugar! That looked yummy! If I was fixing it for my husband I would make the ‘Pigs in the Blanket’! My husband is diabetic so he doesn’t need the brown sugar but he would like that one too!! Thank you for these recipes! They will be used!! NORMA COLLINS FROM TEXAS
I may have shared this with you before... but don't remember. I whisk together equal parts of apricot preserves and dijon mustard... add the Li'L smokies and cook in the slow cooker for about 2 hours. HUGE hit with my family!
Catherine, just what I like, simple yet delicious. Thank you for sharing. Merry Christmas Happy and Healthy New Year and God's blessings to you and all of your loved ones. ")
I make little smokies with just a small bag of brown sugar in the oven or crockpot on warm. The brown sugar melts down and carmelizes the lil smokies. Deliciousioso! The most popular appetizer I’ve ever made! I stole the recipe from a church friend. So easy too!
Terrific ideas for really easy appetizers! I liked all three, but leaned towards the crescent one. Getting lots of ideas from you for what to serve friends, family and guests! 👍👍😋🍽
I love lil smokies .. and i love LOL.. Cranberry sauce.. and i love chili sauce... so thats my favorite, ill have to try that... maybe ill do the brown sugar like Sandra said.. cause i love asian.. ... but omg.. sounds so good!!!
I make the bacon/ brown sugar every New Year’s Eve. Really good. And I make the Crescent roll ones once in awhile but I like your addition of poppy seed or sesame seeds.
You must be from Ohio. We do the lil smokies with the Hines Chilli sauce and a can of beer to, so so good. Definitely something a little different but I think you tend to like what you grow up with.
Watching this 12/2022...There is absolutely NO way I can choose from those treasures! Great video and clear directions. Now I just gotta hit the store for ingredients cause Christmas is coming!!! :D
Crockpot, Add little smokies grape jelly and mustard. TRY IT you'll love it! Low 4 hours, high 2 hours
Grape Jelly and favorite store bought BBQ Sauce !! Delicious 😋😋 😋😋😋😋
Can you do meatballs like that
@@doriscosby2796 yes!
Interesting I've never heard of using mustard the one I've made before we used grape jelly and chili powder and it was okay
I've had the meatballs like this but not the smokies. I'm sure it's good. I don't think it's too sweet.
To use BBQ sauce and a jar of apricot or peach preserves in the crock pot with the smokies or meatballs is amazing.
I have made the cranberry/chili sauce smokies several times thru the Holiday season for years, great for carry in or home Partys. I have also made the crescent roll little smokies countless times for grandchildren and their friends.
When you make the bacon wrapped smokies, try sprinkling a little cayenne over them, after you've put the brown sugar, then bake.. So good!
If you can't handle the heat of cayenne, use black pepper instead.
I used the cayenne pepper as you suggested to Cathy! Great idea!
@@karenscannell5713 I'm so glad you liked it! I experimented one year, and that's how I have to do it now. It's mandatory! lol When they like it, they like it. =) Happy New Year!

I love making little smokies in a crockpot with my favorite salsa
I do sweet and sour smokies with equal parts grape jelly and yellow mustard. Sounds sketchy, but tastes so good!
Now that sounds interesting.
😊😊❤❤😊
Any way you could give me that receipt with grape jelly? TX if you can.
For years I took Li'l Smokies to work potlucks but I just put them with barbeque sauce in the crock pot. They were always a big hit but I'll bet the cranberry and chili sauce ones would be delicious.
We use the same cranberry/chili sauce mixture and little frozen meatballs instead of smokies in a crockpot. Yummy!
Oooh now that sounds delicious. I’ll definitely have to try it. Thanks so much.
I made these for my husband's fiftieth birthday. People were blown away by crockpot recipe.
Sounds yummy❤
Hi Catherine , my sister always makes the bacon wrapped lil smokies every year for the Superbowl and Christmas . I use the chili sauce and about three or 4 tablespoons of grape jelly. Love it made this way. So delicious.
I love all 3!!! But if I had to choose only one it would be the bacon and brown sugar! I love appetizers!! Thanks Catherine
Oooh the bacon brown sugar was like eating candy, so yummy. 😊
Catherine, thank you for showing the cranberry sauce and Heinz chili sauce and little smokies recipe I lost years ago, l got this recipe in the 70 s. What a great family!
I do the lil smokies in the crock pot with cranberry sauce and a can of tomato soup. It is sooooo goood!!!
One of my favs is to mix up package cornbread muffins and add in some shredded cheddar cheese and chopped green onions. Line mini muffin pan with muffin papers. Stand one little Smokey in the center of each muffin cup. Place in preheated oven and bake as directed on muffin pkg. YUMMMM

I might try this version, because I'm not fond of cranberry and neither is anyone in our house. It's good tho? BBQ and jelly together? Sounds interesting 🤔
I used all beef frozen meatballs and whole cranberry sauce along with the chili sauce…delicious 😋
The bacon and brown sugar are my new favorite! Catherine, you are so creative! Janelle Viles/Tn.

I make Lillie smokie with sweet baby rays wrapped in bacon so delish

I do the chili and cranberry but I add 2T of brown sugar and it gives them a sweet and sour taste. Great for meatballs too. I enjoy your channel.
