Try Sodium or Optifine.
One of those should drastically increase performance. Sodium is better in most cases, unless you just want the game to look bad. Idk why you would want that tho with Optifine. If you're playing Windows 10 edition with that low of a framerate, then you might just need a new laptop.

I have a 300$ laptop that can run minecraft on the WORST settings AND with optifine in order to strike 60fps! And I can't even play PCSX2! IT LAGS AS HELL!
But this 10$ laptop can play minecraft on normal settings, without optifine, plays PS2-like games AND has an SD CARD slot!!!!

That laptop is pretty good for $10, I must say! Upgrades should be straightforward as well:
1) The Core 2 Duo should be upgradable to a more powerful version (must still be Core 2 Duo though)
2) The RAM can be upgraded - at a minimum I'd have two matching DDR2 sticks of 1GB each (2GB total) - whether it will take 4GB or not is another matter; my Fujitsu Lifebook E8020s max out at 2GB
3) Being SATA is really nice; a lot of the laptops at that time were still IDE. I'd go for a 160GB or 250GB mechanical disk; they are so cheap nowadays. Or if you used it more of a main/secondary PC, rather than just a PC for XP software, then get a 500GB HDD or a 128GB/256GB SSD :)
4) The built in Wi-Fi is likely to be a Wireless B/G chip only; not good for 2020. See if you can get a B/G/N card installed in place. 802.11ac cards also exist but may not have drivers for XP.

you should do a upgrade video like upgrade the ram and the o.s. to windows 10 and get a ssd and do a seprate video where you compair the before and after.

I know that wiping an old computer is the right thing to do, yet at the same time there's a level of intrigue involved when inspecting machines that still have data on them - it's a bit like looking through a time capsule with all the old programs, desktop backgrounds and other quirks.

It probably uses 1.5Gb/s SATA so ssd wouldn't improve it very much. Still it's better than many chromebooks, if you want to use it home and don't care about portability.

This is the kind of laptop that lives in 2019 for a good lightweight Linux distro. I absolutely love the thick heavy build quality of old laptops and they fair really well on Linux.

I have a similar Dynabook Satellite K30 Running a Core 2 Duo P8400 that I got as a present in 2006 or 2007...The thing takes a lot of heavy work easily. Upgraded the drive to 500GB, upgraded the RAM to its supported limit, 4GB, installed Windows 7..did a full clean of the insides and replaced the old thermal paste on the CPU and the nasty ass thermal pad that was on the NorthBridge with Deepcool Z5. It works fine today, really reliable and fast.
Put Linux Lite on it and you have resurrected it.

That port on the back isn't a ps2 port, it is a video port. There are adapters that make that into composite connection for your TV.
It's a S-Video port. S-Video does have a much better picture quality than a composite
I have a old laptop with the same port on the back, and I thought it was S-Video as well, but a s-video cable will not fit. I tried this obscure adapter I had in my basement that looked like a s-video to composite with extra pins on the s-video. It fit into the port and I got a red tinted output, probably from a bad cable.

I have an old Toshiba Tecra M7 (similar to this, but it's a 2 in 1, yes an XP 2 in 1!). Even runs Windows 10. As it turns out, these laptops were top of the spec at the time, so now they still hold their own.

That laptop looks almost identical to the Dell Latitude D820! It has the same "Designed for Windows XP Vista Capable" sticker, same CPU, and the CD drive is in the same spot. The only thing different rather than the different branding is that the ports were in different places and the CPU was a bit slower at 1.66 ghz instead of 1.83 ghz.

I can't stop laughing, I had your video playing in the background on another monitor and in my peripheral veiw at 1:07 or so it looked like you took a sip of cleaning sulotion I had to stop what I was doing and rewind to make sure you didn't XD Anyway, good video otherwise nice to have as company while you're doing stuff just have to avoid getting stuck watching though.
The laptop I'm using to watch this video, right now, sports an Intel Core 2 Duo T5550, which is just a notch lower than the T5600 in that laptop. It's still fairly smooth and very usable, especially with 4GB of RAM and SSD. The fact I'm using Debian also helps, a lot.
HOW CAN YOU PLAY THESE GAMES ON AN XP I have a vista and it’s slow as heck! Can I have a swap? Literally when I play flash games my keyboard response is really slow and it takes 1 minute to say a short message
Windows XP is 32 bits, so you are definitely not taking full advantage of the Core 2 Duo processor there!
I'd understand you not installing Windows 10 or 11, however Windows 7 is probably the best option (of course make sure to install every driver without exception)
People would likely be shocked to find that laptops like this are as powerful or more powerful than a great many of the new budget laptops you can buy now. I had a Dell XPS m1330 that I used for some time. In the end I upgraded it with a faster CPU, an SSD, and 8GB of RAM. 4GB DDR2 SODIMMS are hella expensive though. I probably wouldn't do that again.
Even if it couldn't play anything released within the last 5 years you could still emulate a lot of stuff on it. I'm sure NES, SNES, Sega Master System, Genesis, Game Gear, Sega CD, some arcade stuff, GBC, GBA (any 8-bit and 16-bit) would work well and *probably* N64 and PS1.
Wow. That is a crazy good deal. The best I have managed was my Thinkpad R51 for $40 CDN.
That Intel Centrino Duo sticker reminds me of my old Dell Latitude D620. Just got hit by nostalgia again. Luckily my Dell Inspiron 6400 is here to save me.
