For all of you asking for a Battle For Middle Earth 3, EA does not hold the rights for the games anymore. However you can enjoy The Rise of the Whitch King with a couple of mod installed (like Edain Mod), or even play online with the GameRanger program. This game still has a huge fanbase. It really was a masterpiece!
Φίλιππος Σρν Indeed so, my only problem with Edain is that the language on english is still rather lacking, atleast it still was a year ago, it'd be this..40% english and 60% german descriptions.
Too bad Cristopher Tolkien won't let anyone have the license anymore... considering he didn't even like the movies, he would probably see BFME as an atrocity. That damn snob.
I mean to be fair most the movies and the games etc were a complete bastardization of his fathers work and don't even vaguely come close to capturing the spirit of the LoTR books.
His father's works? Cristopher Tolkien gave his life to middle earth kids. HE collect all of writings, write books, gave details. This is not only about father/son relationship, nor only an elvish dream. He is right in every choice.
Jamie Christopherson did a great job. As much as I love Howard Shore's soundtrack, it's a shame almost every LOTR game just reuses that instead of coming up with original scores like this. (Star Wars games have their own OST's, so why not LOTR)
@@gpd4110 how ya get it to work. I ahave the disk too and I just got a new pc and it does have a disk port I made it a osi but the game won't play unless it's the disk I don't know how to crack the osi to play it again
I remember me and my best Friend onced played a match, well i dont remember the mapname but we played outnumbred 2v6 medium difficult AI (All evil factions) i played the elves and he played human and we had this huge HUGE battle right in the middle of the map, we wondred how long we will hold it, so we made a heroic manouver and moved our both cavalry forces combined around the left flank and charged the backline and then the main force at the front. It was a Chaotic battle, thousands were slayed that day. Well for my part i can just say i had never so much goosebumps in a Strategy game it was just epic, meanwhile we played our attack the track "pushing back" was played. Damn this atmosphere when olifants and orcs and uruks get slayed in thousands of numbres while our Frontline bearly holds and the cavalry just rolls over their enitre Force. Long live the Devs of this game!
I think it's good that they can't make more of these games. Considering what the gaming industri has mutated into (and EA in particular), with all the micro transactions, season passes and loot boxes. Nearly all games are released unfinished and riddled with so many bugs as to render them unplayable. And they usualy need many months to get the game in a desirable state. I can't imagine that EA would make a good LOTR game anymore.

War of the ring (2004) has great individual soundtrack which is not connected with Howard Shore's works.
