I wonder how about that docked and closed mbp 16 airflow , is it good for long term ?
I had my previous 15" docked 95% of the time. It worked fine but the fan noise was so loud. The M1 macbook is much better because it hardly ever heats up.

Thanks for the video, but I have one question - Why would you use 2 of the thunderbolt connectors to connect to your hub and monitor?? Why wouldnt you just connect it via mac-->hub->monitor? Isn't that the point of the hub?
I am interested in a similar setup as well, but this decision doesnt make sense. Please advise.
Great question and I am embarrassed (but also relieved) to find out that after reading your comment I do in fact have another thunderbolt port in the back of my hub. It got so messy there at one time that when I took a look I completely missed it. So yea, you just solved one of my silly problems. Thank you!

I'm currently using a hardshell case for my macbook but I've also had wool sleeves in the past. They're affordable and everywhere on Amazon.

Which mouse do you use? I need a mouse which will work with M1 Max and a regular PC. Thanks for a suggestion.
I use Logitech’s MX Master 3. Even the MX Master 2S is a high recommendation from me. It’s older and cheaper but just as good as the Master 3.
Does your watch normally scratch the Macbook? I wear the same type of watch. Kinda always worry abt that.
Not at all. I’m not wearing a metal band though. But i think just like with everything else you just need to be a bit mindful
How were you able to get the M1 Max chip in the 14” size? I was informed that it’s not possible as it’s only available in the 16” model.

It’s available in both 14 and 16 inch sizes. Same specs

Great review and setup. The only thing I’d say is the MacBook should actually be upside down in grove dock as you’re blocking the fans. I guess not such an issue with M1 but if you are pushing it that will effect the thermals.
Yes, it really an issue with the M1. This thing hardly feels warm.

@@albanos.13 it’s up to the reviewer but I’ll certainly not be blocking the fan output on my M1 Max 16 inch when it arrives. I want to push it hard and it does need to output the heat in that case to prevent thermal throttling.

Hi! I use a 27” LG Ultrafine 5K monitor. A bit expensive but still my favorite monitor for the Mac.

I guess I was expecting more of a flat edged design. Also something thinner. But this one really grew on me and it feels easier to hold

That dock has foam which will block air intake from the rear opening… better put it upside down, but then all cables are dangling… ugh….
The M1 MacBook rarely gets warm. It’s pretty amazing.

Really cool desk setup but you place your macbook incorrectly on that dock and I really feel uncomfortable seeing that and it’s almost on every video
The apple logo should be upside down and the back letters saying “Macbook Pro” should be facing correctly and that way your macbook can freely breathe
