Something deeply resonating about this. It awakens an ache in me...a longing for life.

Thank you so much for looking at Christianity from a masculine point of view. I’m 58 years old and still am searching, am I enough? Will I ever beat my addictions? Will I be found out and lose my respect as a friend, Dad, and most of all a husband? Keep up the great work looking at new ways to keep encouraging men. I’m learning to not find the right neighbour and right friend, but to be the right neighbor and friend.

John Eldredge makes me want to become a Christian! I am not religious but very spiritual. I found his book, All Things New, so refreshing. He connects my reverence for Gaia, mother earth, and the creator. I also have a strong masculine side, from a previous life. So this Wild at Heart talk is so honest. Sexual expression is a incredible gift god provided us to experience one of the most high vibrational energies. God wants to know itself THROUGH our human existence. So grande, isn't it?! Thank you, Mr. Eldredge for being real, addressing the matters of our human existence and the ability to share Jesus' teachings, his life, as an example of high vibrational living. Like you said, Life is brutal, but it must be so in order to move us to dismantle pain and bring in love. Angels say that because Love is a choice, it matters more to the creator, it's valued and leaves the angelics in awe!

Jesus is the only true and living God. Not an example to follow because the Bible teaches we cannot do this. and while He was fully man He was also fully God.

@@BryceNeubergerSermons because the Bible does not describe Jesus as a badass, we should be careful to add to the Bible and to use our own ideas to describe him. Bless you!

Well I see you got some slack for using the term badass. But I have to agree with you. The Church has made Jesus into a Peter Pan. When in fact Jesus was All man. He spoke the truth and moved on. I’ve always said, if you had followed Jesus around during his 3 year ministry, and you judged him from a mans point of view, you would of said he was a jerk.

we need the holy Spirit and the Bible not john eldridge to reveal who Jesus is and what he's like. john eldridge is way off base with his idea of who jesus is and what masculinity should be. he borrows too much from culture and idealism and imagination.

Well if men would really be like Jesus in Christianity they would be a strong example of masculinity not this weak, wimpy, scary, cowardlyversions we see today.Leaving women to step up and get the balls and be the man for their children and themselves. This is exactly what we need, the church needs strong,warrior-like men, like Jesus,to save the family.I think youhave real soul wounds that you need to address so that you can really hear what John says

John eldridge appeals to mens "idealism" and idolatry to find anideal hero based on their own fleshly desires and imagination. Knowing Jesus comes only through relating to him and reading his word. you aren't getting that through discussions of what a man should be based on anything but who jesus reveals himself as

Ted I can tell first hand that you are not correct. His interpretation may not speak to you and that is fine. I have seen first hand the power of giving men back their hearts. I pray your journey delivers to you a closer relationship with God. Eldridge is delivering a message that is good and helpful.

Ted Myrrh SAD ,sad ,sad, I have found new courage and strength from him explaining the things that are core questions that have always been in my sub conscious ..you’re so off and negative, you sound like the type that turns people off to Jesus, sheesh keep your negativity to your self bro ,and talk to God about it

john eldridge is getting rich off books that appeal to men's base desires to create a Ideal man and jesus from their own imagination and felt needs.

Jesus IS the “Ideal Man”... He IS the PERFECT example of what Christian men ought to strive for.... yes, He is loving, and righteous, but only describing Jesus as “loving” and “righteous” does such a great disservice to all of His other incredible qualities... He is also bold, and powerful, and wise, and disruptive, and fierce... Jesus was not a passive man... He called highly revered religious leaders “hypocrites” to their face in public... he makes demons quake ,and casts them out at the sound of His voice... Do you recall what He did when He saw the temple being defiled??? For goodness sake, read Revelation 19!!! He is going to be riding out of heaven on a white horse, leading the armies of heaven with eyes like fire while wearing a blood soaked robe!!! Oh, and as His weapon: “and out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the wine press of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.” - Rev. 19:15 KJV.... That doesn’t sound very lovey-dovey to me!! Jesus Christ is a WARRIOR, and HE IS AWESOME... I’m sick of people describing Jesus as some tree hugging hippie that only talks about peace and love... THAT IS NOT THE GOD I SERVE!!! He is a MAN in the truest, most pure sense of the word.

The fact that you consider a battle to fight, adventure, and a beauty to rescue "base desires" shows how truly disconnected from your heart you truly are. I can hardly feel any deeper longings in my heart than these things - my heart, which was created by God. You would benefit immensely from taking this path John is talking about.
