Picked up a barn find 1971 R75/5 last year.
Cleaned the carbs, fixed some bodged electric issues, and its running. Just waiting for warm weather now.

Very similar to my R90S which I rode from 1975-1978.

This bike was a lovely bike! Should be a good one as it’s my old bike and I maintained well and looked after it. Glad you’re enjoying it. I’ve still got a r100rs and it’s for sale!!

Marvelous BMW r100tic, love that blue color two, and very original, and airhead that has not been ''bastardised'' I am looking for a r100 Airhead or a GS, now, I am 53 yares of age and done all my ''Racing about'' on my other motorbike's... The Air Head's are a marvelous Classic afordable ''all rounder'' bike to have.... My father baught the ''r900s'' in Egg yolke color in 76/77? which he changed for his one yare old ''brand new'' Red Benelli sei 750? me and my two brothers were disgusted 😰🤬/😅.... Then in 84' my father got an r100 in black and silver, when you ''are young'' you do not see the beauty in them, but now they relly do make sense... I liked the GS range of BMW's since I saw the 1984/85 with the Dakar Rally Campion wins of the rider ''Gaston Raiher'' and the works BMW ''HPN'' R80GS which was the bike that hooked me with BMW Airheads, and specially with the HPN Sport, build's wich were a Rally raid's built Airheads...The wone I wold like to get now is the r100rt..? in the ''Red and Black'' color, with no fairng or just the bikini top... I must admit I voted for ''Remain'' in the UK and I think that the motorbike's built in Europe, together with American Motorcycles are the best over all motorbikes to collect, ther so much more interesting than the Japanise bikes, excep? the Kawasaki KH triple two stroker's and the MX 500 's and sum other two srokers two, and I incude ''most'' of the Engilish bikes... I enjoy you veues, values and aproches to life, while riding your Iron steed's, and a Motorcicle is a good therapy two ''a Motor Head's view'' of life related to my vew's'' somthing my mother and other famly members do not see ''or have no'' interest in what I have to say.

Nice, simple bike and, for me, better than the RS to ride. I’ve had RTs, RSs, a T and still have a Mystic. Yours has the lighter flywheel and snappier throttle response and way better brakes than the earlier ATEs. Carb balance is crucial to smooth running in my experience. The standard generators are marginal at best and why I never put on heated grips. Did you upgrade? Great to see this one intact.

That looks like a full-power model with 40mm carbs . '81 or '82 ? Love these bikes , and you can pick one up for two grand

2 grand? In the states people are asking a minimal of 5 grand. Been looking for a while.

In the thirty years I lived in America I owned many airheads and often paid that kind of money . Now back in the UK and I'm finding that these bikes aren't as revered as they are in America . This is why so many are being WRECKED by fools building ghastly "scramblers" and "cafe racers" . @@ianbestor1528

Mine is an absolute pig when it is cold, had the carbs rebuilt has made no difference. Runs great when it is warm.

Worth another look at the idle jets and choke mechanisms because they’re normally good starters.
