That is absolutely beautiful. I like the sound you are getting out of it also. A little on the dark side which is what I like. The choice of wood you get never ceases to amaze me.
Beautiful! Looks and sounds great! The lower output pickups really capture that early 70's sound well. And the double bound body, just looks spectacular!
Brother, the shape and look of that guitar is absolutely stunning!!! That would be a guitar that anyone should be honored and proud to own or play. That apple wood is still probably my favorite wood, but that body shape is gorgeous!!!
Thank you my friend, I really appreciate it. And yes the Apple wood was beautiful. Thanks also for the kind comment on the shape, I was really hoping people would like this design!👍
@TornelliGuitars I personally prefer the interesting elements an offset design brings. Hopefully, this will be a production model you'll offer, and who knows, maybe someday I'll be playing one!! Keep up the amazing work, and I love the friendship and partnership that you and Todd have!!!
@@bigkahuna100 Thanks Eric, yes it will be a standard shape I’ll be keeping, then next one will be a combination of bound and carved top which I can’t wait to get to! 👍
That guitar looks and sounds so good. I really like it. It’s different but not radically different, it still has a sophisticated look to it and that maybe why I like it. 🎸🤓🌎☮️🥓
Ciao Gio, I really love to watch your passionate and professionell woodwork and your tasteful choice of woods...very beautiful instruments...tanti saluti
Great Job, It’s a really nice guitar, great looker, I loved the pickup sounds and it seemed to have lovely sustain. Nice to hear Paul Weller chops too.
Can you please let me know your opinion on the Chestnuts Hard Wax Oil, the application and durability. It looks great. Finishing is always my biggest bugbear. Thanks again.
@@peterdavenport5882 yes of course, the chestnut hardwax is a little thinner than the Osmo hardwax but it works pretty much the same, which is to say if you rub it in and wipe it down right after application then you can’t go wrong. 3 or 4 coats is what I go for, 2 coats a day. The chestnut microcrystalline wax is what I use to get me to the level of shine I want. I think I stopped at 4 because that’s where I like it, you I apply it about 5 minutes apart. I find that buffing off the wax with paper towel gets the best results. Just let me know if you have any questions 👍
That's such a lovely instrument. So much more attractive than the standard brand shapes , but not too extreme a change to be just a niche attraction. This design is one of the best I've seen for years and I hope it's a great success for you. Beautiful timbers and workmanship,a guitar to aspire to. Congratulations and respect. Always a pleasure to watch and learn from your skills.
What a beautiful guitar Gio. That body style is an instant classic. Wish I'd have come up with it. It's perfect IMHO. Also was a very nice road test, well done sir.
Stunning as ever Gio. (I feel like I start every comment on your videos like that 😂) but i mean it. What I love about what you do from the design to the finish to the hardware is you always achieve that perfect, harmonious balance of there being nothing there that doesn’t need to be there and the right amount of everything that does. And I agree, it’s stunning. Really nice demo too. I particularly like the sound of the middle and the neck positions. Wonderful !
Beautiful! I desperately need an instructional video on the body finishing process. It's gorgeous! Body shape is GREAT and I LOVE double bindings. My own personal preferences: I love the canary top back, but would like a darker core wood for contrast. Mahogany? Also, love the neck and carve, but would prefer a black fretboard, especially against the Canary top. Ebony? Richlite? As for electronics, Fishman Fluence humbuckers with lithium battery pack for me! (Best I've found for direct input for recording on a DAW.)
Thanks for the kind comment, I will be doing a vid on this finish because I use it all the time. Yes there would have been lots of woods that work really well with the canary. I haven’t tried the fishman fluence systems yet, I’ll need to have a think about those!👍
Hi Gio. You have this quality of making things look so easy, but the time and effort to create a masterpiece like this is not apparent. I love what you've done here, and it is really stunning. No shortcuts or fixes after the fact. Just perfection in my eyes. I do have one gripe, though. I wish you could put out more content, as I can't wait for your next project. Ps. Love your selection of pickups. This one sounds killer. Best wishes. Mike. 👍🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
Thank you Mike, that’s really kind. I’m always hoping to put out more content, however a lot of what comes through my shop is repair and maintenance work that I think may not be very interesting for people 😂 I have almost finished another build though so that will be up shortly. I really appreciate your support my friend!🙏
Stunning combination Gio.. The colors between those woods compliment each other so well. Definitely a top notch example for a production guitar from you. Everything flows so well. Offer this with several pickup choices and it should sell really well for you. The first thing that went thru my head when you changed the color settings (thank you once again for that) was I pictured for some strange reason @BradPaisley on stage playing that of all the guitar players that could have easily been my visual reference. I wouldn't change a thing on this one.
Thanks you Bill, I always look forward to hearing your thoughts. I’m really happy with the shape and I will definitely be making this a ‘standard’ design. I think you’re right and I’m sure it will work with other pickup combinations too. Don’t think I’ll see one in Brad’s hands any time soon but we can always dream 😂😂
What a gorgeous guitar. Stunning, simplistic clean lines and beautiful tone. You’ve knocked this one out of the park!! Oh and I thought you said you couldn’t play 🤷♂️
Wow the color and figure and grain patterns on the back of this guitar are as pretty or more prettier than the front. especially looking at it from the neck back toward the bottom of the guitar. It is lovely sir. As always. I like the sound with both pickups or neck only best. the Bridge pickup to me sound a bit too bright. But it is still really nice.
Ah, I thought that didn't look like your usual finish! I love Chestnut products, but I've never used their hardwax before. Just OSMO. It is a lovely looking guitar.
Reimagined classic is a very apt description. This guitar's matching front and back looks phenomenal! The excellent choice of hardware makes this beauty sound as good as she looks! Awesome job!
Brother, you have really outdone yourself with this one. I love it. The canary may well be my favorite wood I've seen you use so far!! Awesome and thank you for the shout out in the awesome intro!!✌️🤍
She's beautiful Gio. The finish is something else, and yet again I've picked up another neat trick watching these videos - putting a riser block into the pickup cavity so you can apply finish to the back - genius! I have one question which may be a bit stalker-ish, however I noticed you have a Triton Jointer/Surface Planer on the shelf ... what's your thoughts on it?
Thanks Owen, I’m glad it helps my friend. The Triton was great after about an hour to set up perfectly straight. I think it’s perfect size for guitar building and I won’t be upgrading it which is probably the highest praise I can give. Also much better imho to have a dedicated surface planet rather than a combo thicknesser/planer due to the length of the table. Thanks for the support once again 👍
Yes I used Chestnut Products hardwax oil & Chestnut products microcrystalline wax for the body. I used crimson guitars restorative oil for the fretboard.
The finish on this one looks incredible, it's got a nice really nice orange tint, is that just the wood with oil or was the stain colored at all? Also the warm sound from both pickups is definitely my favorite, it's great to hear some sound demos of these amazing guitars 👍👍
One of the most beautiful guitars I have ever seen.
