I was in 1st grade playing house league living in Denver when Bourque won it. My family moved to the PNW where hockey wasn't that big back then. We switched to soccer. After so many years of playing and reffing soccer, watching this makes me want to buy skates and sign up for the men's league. NHL Historical moments seem to be more inspirational than any other sport.
All the legends that waited for so long Bourque, Andreychuk, Chara, Ovechkin, Brind’amour, Selanne, Hasek, Yzerman, Hull the 94’ cup with messier is my moment.
As the team with the current longest drought, I’d definitely like to see them be the team to bring the Cup back to Canada. That would be pretty special!
Truly...the most international sport there is....soccer players wear shorts and jog around, kicking a rubber ball.... Hockey players...go to WAR, with body armour, weapons, and blood....while doung 30mph on a slipery surface, with razorblades strapped ro thier feet! Fooootball is sooo lame!
That Blues winning cup in 19 still haunts us Bruins fans. That first period where outplayed Blues entire period and Rask gives up 2 goals on 4 shots, killed Bruins.
That's should have been Henrik Sedin hoisting the Cup... could have spared the city of Vancouver millions of dollars in property damages. Worst Cup raising ever.
Bourque and Ovechkin are absolute tear jerkers
Agree
100% as a caps fan I still tear up with Ovi
"After 22 years... RAYMOND BOURQUE!" Absolutely epic. What a way to cap off a career.

Brind’Amour giving absolutely no f***s at 7:28 about Betman and his picture with the cup tradition 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I was there
Well he needed to grab it before it set in that he was holding Buffalo's Cup

My two favorite Cup moments: Rangers ending the wait and Ray Bourque going out with a bang.
I always love that moment with Bourque because of how purely selfless it was. Sakic showing what it really means to be a captain.
@@Cap1talNumbers Absolutely. Didn’t even lift it once. He knew who deserved to raise it first and was happy to hand it to him.
As an Avs fan, it still brings tears to my eyes.
How we feeling rn?
joe sakic will always be the classiest player of all time. no question
I would add Steve Yzerman - both are captains I admire for their class!
Konstantinov's is the biggest tear jerker.
Chara actually makes the Cup look smaller lol
One NHL player who's eluded The Stanley Cup and never got the chance to raise it but should've and that man's name is Patrick Marleau
OVVVIIIIIIIIIII
My fav moment was seeing Bourque , Blake, Robitaile, Andreychuk, get there first ring .
10:39…My favorite moment
They won it for Bob Miller. Plain and simple.
That crowd knew it was in the bag and MADE IT KNOWN
"There's one player who's waited a long time to hoist this!"
Not a single eye left the 77 that night.
"After 22 years, RAYMOND BOURQUE!!!"
Ovi wins the cup is the greatest
Let's leave this at 8 likes 😁
GOAT
Bourque’s is the best by far
Bourque is the all time greatest by far.
Mark Messier: the only player in NHL history to captain two different Stanley Cup winners (Oilers, 1990; Rangers, 1994)
First one was the best 👍❤️
Just waiting for McDavids if he gets one edmonton fan btw :(
Oof gonna be long wait unfortunately
Tmrw is Game 7 Panthers Oilers
I can never forget Messier facial expression when he accepted the Cup
So fun
Wow..... chilles
No Hasek??
9:56 A riot is happening at that moment.
LIFT IT HIGH HATCHER
Yeah can't see how tainted it is
No hawks? :(
Kinda crazy
As a Pens fan, I could watch Sid lift it over and over but you’re right, Toews handing it to Kimmo to skate should’ve made it’s way into this video
@@danmulholland4536 this comment has nothing to do with sid lifting it tho...
@@danmulholland4536 the hawks 2010 game winner is probably one of the best I’ve seen. Second is Colorado 2001
How didn’t Roy winning the cup in 93 make the list?
Because he’d already won a Cup and a Conn Smythe in ‘86
I'm sure it felt great for Carolina to hoist Buffalo's Cup, maybe one day they will truly earn their own and it will feel better
I hope the Leafs can win the cup someday

Losers since ‘67
Not with Mathews and Marner you aren’t.
Buffalo will win before them 😂
Flyers first expansion team to win and they don’t show it 🤦♂️
Why would they?

Didn't care for the last to much.

Montreal wasn't spared such property damage in 1993, despite the team's having WON the Cup... The crazies were such sore winners... Smh!
