When Bill Cook scored that 1 light bulb was so epic
Bill cook died in the city i live in
@@VGKFAN61 samezys
Ikr😂
While it being delayed
The crowd mildly: “hhhheeeeeeyyyyyyy”
When Kane scored the winner for Chicago, no one knew he scored at first, but himself! 😂
Love how the ref was confused too
I'll always remember that moment growing up. Such a generational talent.
It’s crazy to me that there was a time that goalies didn’t wear helmets
the pucks weren’t as fast in that era
@@thenjdevilsfanatic Still would hurt like a bitch to get hit with one though damn. Doesn't matter if it's going 60 or 90 mph
That Darren McCarty Wings Goal in ‘97 was fuckin nasty
a career 4th line grinder comes up with a once in a career dangle to win a cup.
FR
Bill Barilko disappeared that summer. He was on a fishing trip. The last goal he ever scored won the Leafs the cup. They didn't win another till 1962. The year he was discovered.
You stole that from a hockey card
@@anovak0726I bet that guy thought he was safe and that no one would know lmao😂
@@anovak0726 Probably the same one he keeps under his fifty-mission cap.
Love the tragically hip reference
@@BeegWillie He worked it in to look like that
I like how the league is so old that people with the first name "toe" played in it
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Toe was simply a nickname; Hector was Blake’s first name.
It’s also amazing to see the safety equipment improvements as the years go on the evolution is amazing to see
Thanks for compiling these game winners!
I just wish they didn’t use hockey night in Canada as I feel like Pierre on NBC is a better announcer
Pierre McGuire you mean? If so, he is up there with Jack Edward’s in terms of bad announcers
@@thecharliejamesofficialyou2574 lmao
@@alexoberfranc I agree, Bob Cole sucks as an announcer. I don't care if the entire country of Canada disagrees with me, he has terrible energy that brings down the hype of the goal
lol that first goal was so underwhelming.
They won the cup and the crowd goes mild
lol
It was the Great Depression, they were all depressed.
when montreal was actually good
They weren't just good they were a dynasty, especially late 50s and late 70s
always look forward to this vid every year!
I am a long time hockey fan and this incredible you tube video brings back a lot of
memories. I always want to watch any Stanley Cup final game when the Cup is in the
building. My favorite hockey broadcaster was Danny Gallivan who called Montreal
Canadian games for the CBC. He would shout “they score” whenever a big goal was
scored by Montreal Canadians in the playoffs.
I appreciate the use of the Canadian calls on most of these. Bob Cole, Jim Hughson, Craig Simpson, I love their voices. And CBC and Sportsnet always seem to mic the crowd better than their american counterpart.
Don’t care Gary Thorne greater
@@AVSCOUNTRY2024doc emerick greater. I feel no emotion from the announcers in this video
Ha you mentioned Craig Simpson when he was one of the guys that scored a cup winner 1990 with the Oilers
“Francis beats Hasek like a rented mule” is crazy 😭
Mike Lange, the Penguins play-by-play man. Great calls he made over the years.
Yes! Thank you for updating. This is a fantastic video and I have watched it countless times. Great work!
I remember watching that game between Pittsburgh and Nashville with it being 0-0 and I said to myself, "Wouldn't it be funny if Patric Hörnqvist gets the Cup-winning goal against his former team?" Within a minute, he did! 😂
Not everyone remembers that the Hawks had a great chance of a three peat. In 2014 they lost game 7 at home in overtime to the Kings. Had they won that game, they would’ve most likely beaten the Rangers.
ive waited a year for this!! cheers
I'm still sad about Vancouver's loss to Boston from 2011 to this day. :(
Get a life
Woah! An update, way to go mate. I watched the old version had to have been 50 or so times lol
Not even a Kings fan and that double OT goal gives me goosebumps
That collapse onto the ground by Henrik Lundqvist too, absolutely heartbreaking for him after holding the Kings off for so long
Man the Stars taking the Cup in 99' will always be one of my favs... Eddie the Eagle and Dominek 'The Dominator's Hasek in net... 50+ saves each... Triple OT 🔥🔥
You didn't win the cup that year. Hull's skate was in the crease
@@bestbananstay forever mad.
@@bestbanan I'm Canadian man lol. Just saying it was a hell of a hockey game.
6:12 the last time the Leafs ever won the cup lol
Hearing Bob Cole calling most of these is so bittersweet now. He was the best. RIP
24:09 i was 8 or so watching this, i still remember it like it was yesterday
1970 bobby orr might be the most iconic goal
2014
Alec martinez 2014
Not really, he totally embellished it.
Nystrom comes close.
@@Skanzool doesn’t mean it’s not iconic
love all the Bob Cole calls.
I love watching Marchand make no effort and take a line change with 10 seconds left in the period. Let's go Blues!!!
Lecavalier's assist on the 2004 goal is insane
i was looking for this comment! kudos! :)
🐐
The Bruins fan at 23:51 in disbelief, poor guy lol
9:04 " The hound does it again... *Proceeds to bark* "
94 has to be one of the best cups with that one richter penalty shot save and the game seven decider as awesome
18:54 2000s start
Gary Thorne has the best call on the Fedotenko goal
Gary Thorne had the best Hockey calls during that time period.
It's hilarious how in 1933 you could hear one individual yelling and now, throughout the game you can barely hear yourself talking 🤣🤣
Goalies of the past used to wear pads that were meant for protection and making saves. Now it’s turned into getting a 6’7 guy who can flare out the biggest chest protector and cover the top of the net on his knees, to just take up space.
Not saying we should go back to goalies being way under protected, but that it should be for protection, not to balloon yourself out like the Michelin man to take up space.
That 2010 Chicago Blackhawks Win Shoukd Have A Massive Astriex Next To It After The Massive Scandal With One Of The Trainers
Makes sense to use Smiths goal for 2023 as the one to seal it. It was just an onslaught from there and Panthers only got up to three anyways.
I miss Smithy on the knights
Which means it is the winning goal.
It was the winner.
That behind the back cross pass to craig simpson in 1990 was clutch holyy
4 final for the Crosby era was amazing!!!
So clear picture at 1951. What happened to the next 15 years??
the amount of times we have been in the Stanley Cup Final in this video and can only win 6 of them is crazy 😭
the goalies from the 40s and 50s were just simply standing up......i guess back then they just stood there hoping the puck would hit their pads.
I'd imagine they also didn't wanna go down since they didn't wear masks
@@nhlvan Pussies
During Georges Vezina's time...Goalies were not allowed to drop to the Ice or it was a Penalty
Man, Bill Barilko's 51 goal was gorgeous.
12:12 I’d do anything to see my islanders win another Stanley Cup again
Man as the years went on my vision got better
Crazy that players didn't wear helmets early on. They were tough as nails.
The 2008 goal was pretty embarrassing for fleury. Luckily he made up for it by winning the cup the next year.
I forgot about that but I do remember for the next year everyone made fun of him because of that
Really looking forward to seeing next years video with a Connor Garland goal at the end
Playing without protection...you had to be half-crazy in those days.
I’m a big Montreal fan
Yes, love those old Danny Gallivan calls!
4:21 This Ab McDonald play is about 2 ft offsides lol
The '79 Lemaire and '07 Philips goals are still the weakest Stanley Cup winning goals
Clap bomb from the blue line is legendary
As long as they go in, that's what matters.
When bill cook scored the crowd and announcer went eletruc
No Gary Thorne calls :(
mccarty scored the finest cup-winning goal of all time
2009 was the first one I remember. 2010 was the weirdest. 2018 was my favorite
Buffalo got screwed on the Hull goal. By the rules of the day that goal should have been disallowed.
That Vinny apple damn
Let’s go leafs n canadiens n the other 5 🇨🇦 teams
bro didnt mention the senators, oilers, flames, canucks and jets
so safety became a thing in around 1980
yup!
Always wondered how many injuries occured because of no head protection
Watching the old school goalies with no helmet or pads makes my butthole pucker.
BTW.. AVS fan... In my bracket, we (Boston) is playing you in the cup final this year. I don't recall any time that we played each other for the cup? It would be a good matchup.
I love the Devils goals
Time for Sam Reinhart
Interesting to watch the equipment progression. Hard to believe that goalies didn't start wearing masks until the early 70s and the majority of players wearing helmets in the early 80s
And the equipment has not changed since about 2008/2009
It’s crazy how that goal in 2022 on the lightning was a hooking call missed turned into a 3 on 1 goal. Referees need to be better.
Montreal was NEVER winning the Cup that year. Lightning-Islanders was the Cup.
If you end up making a updated version could you please add the losing team in the corner?
1980, 1987, 2010 still rip my heart out.
Flyers fan ? What about 1985 and 1997 they were in the finals
Oh well, in 1979-80 they had that 35 game unbeaten streak
After 44 years who still says Bob Nystrom was offside
@@michaelleroy9281 Nystrom wasn't offside. Gilles was.
That Ottawa goal still hurts
Dustin Brown scored the winning goal for the Kings. Not Jeff Carter.
Just look up the game 6 box score before you so confidently say something wrong like that
Wrong. The puck went off Carter. It’s his goal
Where’s doc?
Devonta smith pelly came so close to being the only black scf game winning goal scorer
Flyers have lost the last six consecutive finals they played in. Not sure any other team can say that 😫
Dallas Has Great Chances to Be In The Finals And Winning The Cup
They had a Stanley Cup during the 2nd World War in 1942
Yeas and it wasn't just 42 man its 39-45 is ww2 learn history
Jeez if only there was a rule against being in the crease in 1999 18:37
It was allowed then and it’s allowed now. You can’t change the past just because you feel salty about not winning
the 2010 "Leighton Leak" was the most anti-climatic cup clincher of them all
1994 Canucks Rangers best final ever until 2024
12:32 12:53 13:40 14:01 14:55 Edmonton Oilers have been a really great Canadian team winning the Stanley Cup, and they’ll win their 6th Stanley Cup soon this year!
i honestly want the oilers to win. it would be awesome to see them have another cup.
holy shit, I never realized that the Senators lost on an own goal
The score was 6-2 in the end so even though the 3rd goal (an own goal) was the game winning goal, it didn't really matter that much.
The McCarty goal against Philly in 97 didn’t actually win the series. The Wings won that series in game 1. The Flyers quit.
Wow…Flower sat on the puck and put it into the net himself. Yikes.
Only real ones remember bill cooks goal
I’m dumb I was thinking “why are they wearing Jason masks??” 🤦🏻♀️
Let’s go Bruins!
That rough stuff at 27:52 ... there was no need of it.
The goal in the crease still pisses me off.
Since a few years , the champions can't win at home it seems.
Not counting Tampa , cheating the salary cap should be illegal.
Like every single team used "rock and roll pt 2" as their goal song in the late 90s/early 00s lmao
One of these things, is not like the others! One of these things is a goddamn own goal~
Ah Brett hull. The goal that haunts sabres fans.
McCarty best SC winning goal ever?
Playing goalie without a helmet, savage 💪🏻
Or a mask!
Orr’s is best
LA has the best fans. You can even hear the loudness through this video lmao
Maybe one day, Montreal will win there 25th
You guys had a shot in 2021
I'll do these matchups from 1933 to 2023, on EA Sports NHL 97, 98, 99, 2000, 2001, 09, & 24, 1933-1989 on NHL 09 on PS2, then 1990-1996 on NHL 24 on PS4, then 1997 on NHL 97 on my computer, then 1998 on NHL 98 on my computer, then 1999 on NHL 99 on my computer, then 2000 on NHL 2000 on my computer, then 2001 on NHL 2001 on my computer, then 2002-2004 on NHL 24 on my PS4, because of the 2004-05 NHL Lockout-I switch to NHL 09 on my PS2 for 2006-2009, then 2010-2023 on NHL 24 on my PS4
This doesn't make any sense to me...
do it
So ur really gonna not use mike emmrick the greatest commentator of all time ur trippin
The guy calling the 1962 goal sounds like a Salarian.
Take your pick in GMG for 2023 considering Vegas murdered Florida
