- This is a story of one night of camping. Need to make sure I have all the necessary items to camp. I’ve packed what is needed (probably a little too much). In this video, I ride to Sandy Flat Campground near Lake Isabella, California.
There are a lot of choices when it comes to camping gear ... especially when you are camping from a motorcycle. From tents to sleeping bags/pads ... the food choices ... cooking gear, etc.. This short one nighter is to see what I have and what is missing.
The mistake I made was not bringing the correct sleeping bag or clothes. I was cold!!! In the video I play it off bravely .. the fact is ... I FROZE:). Could have remedied the misery by wearing a sweater and or pants ... but I thought long underwear type clothing would be enough.. WRONG!
Being outdoors riding a motorcycle then settling down for the night camping ... not many things better. This is my first night camping of 2024 ... hoping to have about 20 nights of camping this year. This test run will provide good intel!
Please provide comments about your camping gear. Camping is great and we can learn from each other ...
Thanks!

Great little video- close to home, low key and relaxing
I like the folding chair
Great video!
Thanks for sharing.
Good pointers!!!
The Lone Rider tent has a ground sheet that can either be placed under the tent and a goerund sheet but it's also designed to go inside the second open area as flooring so your extra tarp is not really needed.
your video production has come a long way. Nice! As far as what I bring on my camping trips around southern Utah, I pack lighter than what you show and steal ideas from backpackers. I'll look into your mattress recommendation. Thank you for sharing your experiences!
You need a van, lol! But in all seriousness I think you can slim a lot of that down. Maybe think about where you will be camping. Dispersed vs a regular campground. Pack accordingly
