- This is basically my magnum opus for now
I'd write this all in subtitles but as of writing I have to leave soon so I hope you like reading ;)
I started this song WAAY back in August of last year, and over that time, I've went through 5 different .flps, and I've improved like tenfold since then lol
It was started as a theme for something in a project that me and a friend were creating and I came back to it on several occasions but kept leaving it unfinished. Although now that I've been posting and finishing up my old tracks, it basically remained like the final boss of unfinished tracks for me. So over the past week I hammered at it continuously to get this final product ;)
This song is really special to me, so I guess it sort of counts as like a "500 subscriber special" if anyone was wondering about that lol
But omg the hardest part about this song was the LAG. I literally could not mix/master stuff properly due to the buffering that would happen every time I played the intense sections so I literally had to export the mp3 of it and listen to that to see what changes should be made. If that wasn't the case, the mix would be a lot better lol.
TL:DR, this is (for now at least) my pride and joy even though its like horribly mixed because its arguably a rush lmaoo
And of course, it was made in FL Studio ;)

Yeah, I'd call this a magnum opus. This is the kinda music I'd expect to be on the title of some indie game that blows up into a online sensation. So, when are you planning on doing that? 🙃 (Also, I've been through something similar writing stuff in musescore where it would nearly crash every time I tried adding more than one note at a time, so I understand your pain 😭)

FL Studio is definitely really confusing for beginner (it famously makes like zero sense for some things), but once you get the hang of it, it's a really solid DAW. Best of luck with your music journey! :D

This sounds like cyberpunk 2077 in a slightly different reality
A bass boosted/metal version of this would easily be one of the best boss fight themes I've heard. On itself song sounds very well too, however for some reason it feels too soft for the ears.

Hi! :D Yes, I use FL Studio Producer Edition, and I'm mostly self-taught, but I fall back on basic music theory when composing, mixing is 90% idk what I'm doing and like 10% I read an article about it and I try to use that advice lol
For a complete beginner, I'd say read up on some basic music theory (everything thats super complicated isn't too practical, I just use Bach-approved triads and chord progressions lol), and get your hands on some decent instruments (I'd recommend Vital Synth, Spitfire LABS, and the Komplete Start Bundle, all of which are free, because if you look hard enough, you should be able to make good songs without spending a dime (bc thats what I do lol)) and just be aware that progress takes time and that experience is the most valuable teacher

@@MrMeowwMeoww Lol I felt that. You might try rendering out the audio, putting it at the bottom of the playlist, and then just disabling the instruments in the pattern editor. That way it's just playing the rendered audio and doesn't tax your machine so much, while still running through the song in the playlist.
i thought about that but then the notes don't trigger the playlist bar when they're played so it feels less animated imo
But ngl I might have to do it anyway if I wanna keep having high quality songs lmaoo

very repetitive, did not catch me off guard. i kept waiting for those "intense sections" you mentioned in the description; needless to say i was disappointed. it sounds more like the background music to a game that just keeps droning on in the background of a difficult level that you keep dying on, and eventually it drives you absolutely bonkers and you have to take a brake. just... no... not the music for me. on the other hand others seem to really enjoy this. i dont think its my style. im more into edm. i just really do not understand this type of music... but i wish you luck with your producing anyways. this is not meant to be mean but constructive; sorry if it sounds mean
Nah I also think it's repetitive
I spent a lot of time mixing on remastering it bc it was an old project so there's definitely a bit of poor composing from the parts I haven't touched. When I get to re-remastering this, I'll definitely take your words into consideration ;)
